Before You Complain About Camille..

Maybe realize that 1 or 2 games you had against her isn't really enough to create an unbiased opinion on this NEW champion and take some time to actually understand how she works and how to play against her before complaining?

You can't play a game or two against her and then come here saying she's op when you really had no idea what you were doing because it was your first time fighting against this champion.

Poppy Renekton Jax Fiora Seem to be good lane counters to her if you know what you're doing, which not everyone does yet, because...she's new. There may be more but this is just from what I've seen so far.

Alistar Blitzcrank Galio Hecarim Janna JayceLeeSin Poppy Singed Skarner TahmKench Taliyah Thresh Tristana Vayne Urgot XinZhao All have ways to counter her ult. Reminder: If she leaves her own ult, it goes away, and your teammates can re-enter it.

She only does true damage if she gets her second Q off. If you CC her or disrupt her during this time, she can't use it, and she only has about a second or two to actually use this second Q before it goes away.

Her W slows if you're inside the outer edge and also heals her depending on how much damage she has done, which I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) is less towards minions. Items with grievous wounds can help stop her from healing as much.

Her E only gives her 1 second on the wall and so far it looks like she can AT LEAST be targeted by AOE attacks while on the wall. I think she can be directly targeted too but I haven't seen it yet.

She's a diver, once she E's into a fight she has to wait around 16-10 seconds (depending on her CDR and what level she is) to use it again, so if she goes into a bad fight she isn't getting out unless you let her.

Whoever has been ulted CANNOT leave by ANY MEANS, however their team can RE-ENTER. If she leaves her own ult, the ult ends. All of the champions above have ways of getting Camille out of her ult.

I've noticed that when I, or whoever is playing Camille, ults someone, the ulted person just panics and doesn't do anything or their team panics and doesn't do anything. If you are playing a champion who has no way of getting Camille out of the ult then it is up to your team to help you. If your ally is ulted in a teamfight you can still enter the ult and help them.

If you adc, Vayne and Tristana both have easy ways of forcing Camille out of the ult.

Alistar, Thresh, TahmKench, Jax, and Blitzcrank are good supports that can take Camille out of her ult.

Ziggs, if you plant the satchel right, can blow Camille out of her ult however this is hard to do. Taliyah can create a wall in the middle of the ult, however Camille can E to that wall and dash through it so this may not work. Mages prove to be the easiest target for Camille because they lack the knockbacks that can throw her out. However, mages DO have lots of CC, and sometimes just keeping Camille CC'd can keep you alive long enough for the ult to end and for you to escape.

Zac, if he ults, can CC Camille long enough inside her ult. Skarner, LeeSin, and Hecarim can take her out of the ult, however this does not work if Skarner and Hecarim are the ones that have been ulted.

Jayce Poppy Singed XinZhao can knock Camille out of her ult. Poppy is probably the #1 Camille counter toplane, however Jax and Renekton work too. I've found that fighting Renekton early game proves very problematic for her.

There are ways to fight her. Just practice, get a feel for how she plays, and it'll get easier.

Great, well thought out post. Take my upvote. Another champ I think counters her fairly well is Corki. If she isn't full tank and ults you, you can generally burst her down because your mixed damage hard counters her passive. As well as generally being able to poke her down and avoid her stun.

TurquoiseYoshi1 votes

Corki isn't as mixed damage as you'd think. He's better than some, but Koggles and Ezreal are a bit better from ADCs.

RavenMagus1 votes

Mixed damage does not hard counter her passive. I'm not sure why people keep saying that.

Mixed damage is actually worse. If you deal mixed damage, you're pretty much guaranteeing that any shield she gets will be effective against your damage.

She will always have a shield that will be good against you when she hits you, always. But you don't want her to have a shield that's good against you when she hits your ally.

SmileInABox1 votes

It does counter her, if you deal 49% magic and 51% physical she'll only block the 51%.

RavenMagus1 votes

The shield is 20% of her HP.

Do you plan on only doing 19% of her HP in damage? Because if you do any more than that, then you've already had to bust your way through her shield anyways.

It can be an advantage if she's really, really low when she engages back on you and get a shield, but at any other time - including any time she's fighting allies instead - it just feels worse.

PlanetWarwick1 votes

remember the lcs casters: "good job guys we did 2% of her health"

LordGeovanni1 votes

if she hits you she had a guaranteed shield versus you if you only have one damage type. with mixed damage you guranteed to damage her no matter if she has a sheild

RavenMagus1 votes

I guess that's fine if you're playing Jax and you manage a trade that is just your W and then you back off. If the trade is longer than that at all, though, you're going to have to deal with that shield.

And then, when you're fighting Camille later in the game, suddenly you will have to deal with her shield no matter who she hits. You will have a harder time helping your magic damage midlaner against Camille because you're hybrid and you deal magic damage too.

Again, it's only useful if you're fighting a Camille who is already extremely low health when she gets the shield. Otherwise, hybrid just honestly feels like a drawback against her.

I actually think Jax is pretty good against her, but it's more about his anti-melee tools (counterstrike and good sustain damage) rather than doing hybrid damage. I still think that "hybrid damage counters Camille!" is just a fallacy.

LordGeovanni1 votes

you dont get it its not about avoiding the shield completely its about the fact that the sheild cant completely stop you so things like her being 100 hp and getting the shield dont matter because she can only sheild one of your damage types as long as you arent 100 hp with her which you shouldnt be as jax or corki if you are playing decently and not just feeding her.

Given the chance she can do a lot of true damage, but if she's CC'd (or even just slowed) and you have ways to stop her ults she can't do as much

"Jax" "lane counter"...lmao.

Jax loses every lane even against champs he is supposed to counter like Fiora or Yasuo.

Camille depends on her auto for that extra damage and Jax can block that auto. Panth can too now that I think about it

She's really weak early, especially against the spammy champs.

Aka. Darius Renekton Yasuo Riven

I've laned with her once and it was against Renekton. It was awful. She's incredibly squishy early and easy to bully and he was able to all-in me and ignite. If you can make her life hell early game she's not very useful later unless her team feeds her from what I've seen.

I've actually played her mostly support with my bf who went Quinn since I'm a support main and my other friend is a top main. It worked out really really well, won both games. Think I;m gonna try it more XD

Camille support is so much fun XD

I'm a support main and I took her support with a friend and we did so well

I'll have him try out Vayne and see how that works

You forgot Teemo.

His blind removes 90% of her damage output (Q - basic attack; W - deals no damage; E - not spammable; R - on-hit, possibly also affected by blind) and since she has rather limited engage options, he can poke the hell out of her.

PlanetWarwick1 votes

e-stun and damage w-does damage q- just proc the first charge, and the second charge is a nuke

Sraeg20131 votes

Q - both instances are blocked by Blind. W - it does, but it's so pitiful damage, you're better off maxing E. E - stun which doesn't last long enough to give you a chance at fighting. Damage is decent, but only barely better than a basic attack.

PlanetWarwick1 votes

You e and use second q

Sraeg20131 votes

He can blind you mid-E.

PlanetWarwick1 votes

Ok well it's about reaction You can e away then w and qw

Sraeg20131 votes

Camille can't double cast W and moving away means you never get to actually hit Teemo thanks to his pussy-ass speed buff.

And W is crap for poking. Hell, it's not even good at clearing waves.

Anubhav Rocks1 votes

I tried teemo, It did not go well late game. Went on-hit teemo, late game I got fked after fking her early game. won't work too good, just telling

Sraeg20131 votes

Well, in the end Teemo is less useful later, but the matchup is hell for Camille nevertheless.

Not to mention she's really weak early, so if he watches out for her jg he can make her life hell in lane

She sucks to me.

I main Poppy though :)

But in all honesty she wouldn't reach Azir level of oppression because her kit is predictable and ult is useless if she's behind. I mean fed or not why would you lock yourself in with a fed enemy unless its for zoning.

Yea she's kinda an all in champ imo. She's a diver, so if she's behind and tries to go in she either needs her team with her or she's dead. If she was crushed in lane she isn't going to have the damage to do anything after she engages.

Early game she's very easy to bully, but I just think that people aren't really sure how to deal with her yet so she ends up getting fed easier

Most the time when a new champ comes out, I see one of the following two things happen... (I'm sure you can attest to seeing this too)

1- The player as the new champion snowballs without any way of them being stopped, because the enemy team doesn't know the enemy champ and thus are not able to come up with countermeasures. 2- The player as the new champion feeds like there's no tomorrow, because they don't know how the champ they are playing works and the enemy team can use that to their advantage.

I usually see both lol

But its to be expected since nobody really knows how to deal with her. After a week it gets better, but you have those people that fight her and lose and then come to the boards crying about it when it's only been a day

If only there was a thread like this for Yasuo. I swear, people addicted to these forums read a bunch of Yasuo complaints, go onto league and lose a game to Yasuo and start ranting.

Peeking into the orbs of Syndra, I see nerfs in scissor lady's future

oh maaan..

Barkingspider731 votes

I don't necessarily think she is broke, but she does need a nerf. 800 true damage with 3 items with a 4.2 second cd is really strong. Easily you can one shot a squishy without them realizing what happened. That and her w does percent hp damage and heals for 100% of the damage, and her e is a one second aoe stun with 250 base damage. And that's without mentioning that once she starts her jump for her ult, it can't be avoided at all and she is invulnerable during that jump time.

Again, I'm not saying she is broke but she has too few weaknesses.

Shaco my BFF1 votes

Her shield is definitely overkill. She has TOO overloaded kit just as every new release and they seem to get more ridiculous every time.

Jeddy0171 votes

I sure do wish I could practice these tips against Camille. Too bad I can't because people keep freaking banning her. Ranked is understandable, but in normals, can you guys give me a chance? Maybe in a week, her ban rate may drop as people learn to play against her. Of course, she might actually be busted, crazy strong & become a must pick/ban because people will learn how to play her. Still want to see for myself either way & get some practice against her.

Yea she can be an annoyance, that I agree with

LordGeovanni1 votes

Not saying that is is or isnt op. You cant really tell some one that they cant perceive whether a champion is op or not because something hasnt been out for weeks. Some people can have enough knowledge of other champions and they only need to see the strength of the new champion and input that versus their knowledge of every other champion. Your personal ability to perceive how things work or even general ability of people being slow has no bearing on other individuals.
