Riot, high-skill outliers should be nerfed in pro play only so the rest of us can still play them
Nothing seems more tone deaf and pointless to league's estimated ~100 million players than seeing a champ that is perfectly fine and healthy get nerfed into the ground just because less than 1 in a million people are oppressively good at that champ. This is even more the point when that >1 in a million means handpicked full-time professionals with only handpicked full-time pro teammates and surrounded by a handpicked staff of supporting professionals with massive amounts of resources. Why should champs like
and
be completely awful for your actual consumers because buffing them means they take over pro play?
The solution is obvious: just make a limited number of targeted nerfs to certain champs in professional matches. Currently,
is bottom 11 in win rates for 3 different roles.
is dead last overall and he's been about this low for months.
has two spots in the bottom 10. It's bad enough that chronically poor champs are neglected for huge gaps of time, but leaving many of them at the bottom of the trash heap only because of a handful of people who get paid to do this is just sad. Every other sport changes game conditions at the professional level to compensate for exactly this kind of thing.
And let's face it: the regular people who main these problematic feel discriminated against because your keeping their champ at trash-tier is absolutely, openly and admittedly intentional on your part. And it looks like you're screwing them over for money. My suggestion would not only reverse that, but would give you much more latitude with how you balance certain champs.
You need to do this.
