It costs too little gold and has no components. I could press tab and check inventories for stopwatches, and then still get rekt by a stopwatch 30 seconds later because "oh, they musta just bought it right after I checked."
This might actually help balance it too.

I AM pressing tab. Just not often enough.
They already have a similar mechanic for the summoner spell switching rune. Why isn't it my job to press tab every 5 seconds and see if the Riven traded her ignite for a teleport? Cuz that's dumb, and Riot agreed.

600g isn't a "big buy." You would literally have to check the scoreboard every time someone showed up from fog of war. And if they're in fog while you're ganking? Well I guess you're out of luck. Better hit tab real quick while they're killing you so you can check and see what they bought.
