He's not just fun, he's also well rounded and works in a variety of situations. And while his lack of nerfs is questionable for game health, it makes him a reliable support that you don't have to worry too much about him falling out of viability.

He's clearly overloaded with so actual weaknesses besides no direct way of sustain, and he works well in any situation, any team comp, and against any team comp. He's sub-par in any comp seeking a particular style of play. It comes from being a generalist. Unlike Sona (our other Swiss army knife), he's still consistently strong in any situation with no meaningful trade-off.

With Thresh: it's a question of picking the 1 support who specializes in what you need, or picking Thresh who still does it and everything else well. CertainlyT has admitted that he intended for Thresh to be able to go anywhere (including any role). So.... Working as intended. . . . Unfortunately.

Sona has also had a rework and was released in 2010... lol Thresh has had no reworks and was released in 2013.... lol Three year difference. lol

He's my main, and though I haven't played him a long while, I still play him and I am able to usually win. What, did you look at my match history? Did you notice that he's my number 1 in my main profile? I'm not trying to be ugly and I really didn't want to say this but I don't get why your being ugly to me of all people. Isn't this a Thresh hate thread? Why are you getting onto me and questioning me when I say I main Taric? It's not fair, really.

In all the games with him (as of last year at May 3 when I first got him) I lost a total of 57 times and won only 65 times. He was my first support and the reason I even want to play support. If you don't think I'm good at support, or even half as good with him, maybe I shouldn't support anymore, we sure do have a lot of them, don't we?

i... feel... awful.

i'm so sorry. my main build is usually tank items. if i feel like playing rough, i start with item 3401 as my first core item and item 3025 is also a must. i can't say i have a steady build for him though as items change and i like to experiment. but those two are always good for taric.

First off, the most played champion in the game is Vayne who makes Thresh look like a beacon of well thought out and good balance.

Second off, the 4 supports played the next most often (all of whom are played 15% or more of the time) have higher win rates. (Janna, Braum, Blitzcrank, Leona)

Finally, if you really wanna complain about Thresh, do it right. He isn't overpowered. He has an overloaded kit, which is the definition of a champion that is mechanically broken. Although, even then, its kind of a bad complaint since Thresh is the definition of a Jack of All Trades, Kinda Master of One but not really.

Thresh is the Jack-of-all-Trades support. He does a bit of everything and does it all well, but he doesn't have anything that he himself does better than any other support other than the lantern. Hook? Blitzcrank Nautilus are better at that. Lock down? Alistar Braum Leona are better at that. He has no sustain without item 3302 , and even then it isn't nearly as good as Bard Nami Sona Soraka . Shield? Karma Janna Lulu all have better shields. Peel? Alistar Janna Bard can all peel better than Thresh can. And the list goes on. He is strong, yes, but he does not need nerfs. The last couple to his lantern and to his ult were enough to put him in a solid spot.

Also, to point out, if you nerf Thresh to a point where he isn't that strong anymore, another support will take his spot and be "the strongest", and then they will get nerfed, and the cycle will continue. Supports are in a great spot now, no need for changes at this time.

I think being a Red Mage is much more of a problem in league. Not gonna write a paragraph for all of your examples here, but I think that if either 3 of those champions hook someone, they're dead in a teamfight. His E is decent lockdown, too. How good the lockdown is doesn't really matter; it's just the fact that the enemy is locked down. I think if they made one aspect of thresh stronger, and then toned down/removed his other abilities, he'd be balanced.

I disagree. The lantern is a trademark of his, removing it wouldn't make him such a playmaker any more (especially with his hook lantern plays).

Idc what they do with Thresh tbh. It's his kit that does everything, not his base stats. You could give him 0 damage and he is still reliable. You could double most of his cooldowns and he would still be reliable in the hands of mains (especially if they have a 75%+ hitrate).

What does Thresh need?

Give him Armor per level and remove the armor gain from his passive. Make his Base Armor tanky, but not directly as powerful as a tanks. Increase his lantern cooldown and nerf the AP scaling from his passive. Change soul droprate to 25% instead of the 33% with a 75% chance on cannon minions.

If it's still too less increase the cooldowns on his skills (except the ult) by 1/2/3/4/5 in the following patches. Downgrade him gradually until he hits a solid spot in the meta. If they nerf him once they either did a poor job with overnerfing him or a poor job with nerfing him not hard enough. Do it gradually and stop when it's solid.

Start off by removing the shield from his lantern and the pull from Q, then give him some """"compensation buffs"""" to his ult.

Other champions have been made unplayable for less, I don't see why Thresh should still be viable after his nerfs.

I'd let him keep his CC and play making lantern if... he didn't have a passive that is basically free stats. can we remove this soul collecting mechanics, or make it improve his mana instead of his health so that he isn't really tanky on top of being all of the CC.

Also, the armor it gives him is compensation for the fact he has a scaling armor per level of 0. Consequently, this makes bonus arpen stronger against him than any other champion in the game by far. Yas's ult steroid just makes him delete Thresh.

Only real issue with it now is that Thorns scales with bonus armor, but as a support he almost can never afford to get it so it shouldn't be that big an issue.
