Non Ap spellvamp Item?

70 AD 20% spellvamp

or

50-60 AD 10-20% Cdr 20% spellvamp

or

50 AD 300 health(or other random stat) 20% spellvamp

the amount of ad attached to this item depends on the total cost. it can be higher or lower depending, I'm mostly comparing this to will of the ancients.

A long time ago, "Lord Van Damm's Pillager" was an item on 3's. Brutalizier, Heart of Gold and a Ruby Crystal. AD, CDR, Gold/Time and Spell Vamp.

It was broken.

It was beautiful.

The reason we don't have AD Spell-Vamp is because the stat would be so necessary on AD Casters that they'd have to balance the champions around the item, and that always sucks. It was a disgusting time where every 3's game was Pantheon/Talon/Riven

i believe that had more to do with the brutalizer stats on the item (especially the armor pen) than the sustain part.

for riven there is not much of a difference to building a hydra for sustain and auto some minions imo. and since then, 3's have changed a lot in general. certain champion abilities have been nerfed for the map and talon has changed a lot aswell.

It was the sustain of it, because this was before Hydra became an item. Tiamat was just a stand-alone item that sucked and you only built it on Tuesdays.

Even with the changes to most melee casters, AD + Spell Vamp presents a different challenge. In Riot's Rock Paper Scissors of Burst, Sustain and Poke, there would be too many people that would be able to not only sustain, but also burst, and that leaves poke as the "counter" that has to 2v1 counter.

Imagine a hydra-less Riven with just as much CDR/AD she needs, her shield is still heavy as hell, up all the time as usual, but instead of gaining HP back from weaving autos, but instead from just spamming skills in your general direction.

well, hydra exists now. and riven needs to weave in autos anyway. or otherwise she wastes her passive and a huge amount of damage. the way i would put the stats on it, the item itself would have a rather low ad value, and thus not profit rivens shield as a hydra would.

but the sustain would become noticable when you combine it with other big ad items.

We're not talking about sustain in lane as these huge items won't be bought until midgame. It is about sustain during a teamfight where Riven can't be joyfully autoattacking.

darius would spell vamp with his Q which doesn't deal much damage except if you get the 50% dmg and it's 1/3 of the effect. his W doesn't work

only his ulti and Q

...Why?

Thing is, you need to supply a reason why we need a particular item, instead of just giving us an item idea. Don't just give us stats, give us a reason, a niche, a purpose for it to fulfill in a game.

Infinity edge is for aa champions and increasing their dps incredibly in the late game, usually built early to aid in cs'ing and short trades and pokes. Phantom dancer is the companion item, supplying much needed dps with attack speed, higher crit, and a bit of movement speed.

Lichbane is great for ranged poking AP champions, or AP bruisers. Weaved into spell rotations, it can increase dps immensely.

Triforce has tons of damage.

Will of the Ancients is an AP item that provides a bit of sustain and cooldown reduction, multiplying cooldown-based dps with lane sustain that's not too powerful during extended trades.

Aegis of Legion is a utility magic resist item that a tank or a support can build against AP heavy comps (or to protect teammates who cannot itemize effectively against burst or poke, particularly the adc during the mid-game).

.

So my question is, what's the point of your item? Don't tell me what your item does or what stats it has, tell me why we need it and what it can do to serve that purpose.

If I remember correctly, there was an item in 3v3 that was like this, but it was eventually removed. So, I assume they don't want ADs to have spell vamp at all, especially since I'm sure they are balanced around not having it.

id make the spellvamp scale with ad, to make sure its only useful on champs the item is intended for.

id also keep the ad value on the item itself rather low and have it be more of an item that you want to build together with big ad items.

for example:

  • 25 AD
  • 400 health
  • 10 %cdr

unique passive: 10% + (0.1 bonus AD spellvamp)

as for its nieche. its supposed to be an in combat sustain item for ad casters. since lifesteal isnt always an attractive option for them.

an alternative however would be instead of spellvamp on the passive:

dealing spell damage causes the owner of the item to heal a bonus ad scaling amount of health. with a short cooldown (~5 seconds)

even a mixed stack passive like a mix of stattic shiv and cleaver would be possible. dealing physical spell damage to champions builds stacks. at a 100 stacks, you heal a bonus ad scaling amount of health.

Urgot When I first picked up Urgot top a year or so ago, I used spell vamp runes for sustain, his Q and E don't prompt lifesteal and his AAs are not his strong point

a powerful AD spell vamp item like OP suggested would be essential on champs like urgot, Riven and other AD casters that deal lots of damage with AD scaling spells instead of AAs

Fiora would be scary with this. If only her ult could spellvamp too Kappa
