i agree with you to a point.... but when you are on a damage carry like fiora/riven etc getting tank dont help them much... that is the problem with team going a full damage carry comp if you dont get ahead you get screwed unless the game drags out pass 30 mins and every one gets full builds and then the gold advantage dont matter

If you are behind, you need to build damage most of the time. Damage allows you to possibly win a duel, if you build defense you are just going to delay dying and then they will snowball to a point where it doesn't matter that you have defense items, they are 2 levels, 40 CS, and 3 kills ahead.

You can't shut them down by facetanking them.

Also this is why snowballling champs should buy defensive items, so they don't get bursted down and have their advantage stripped away.
