Why does Riot's balance allow stat thieving champions?

Why hasn't Riot tried to stop the stat thieves? Specifically I mean champs like -

  • Trundle steals your tankiness (at least the AD buff is based on his stats).
  • Veigar scales off of YOUR AP when he has plenty of his own. I at kinda least get what Riot meant to do here, but they're are plenty of AD mids anyhow.
  • Fiora completely ignores whatever defensive items you build thanks to scaling off of your HP with true damage.

At least Garen no longer gives people villainy for killing him (though he's still a tank who can do 1,500 true damage ults and other stupid things).

It just feels so toxic to play against these champs who steal your success. I get that they're trying to put power into otherwise lackluster kits but it's not a good kind of power to have. You're punishing people for winning against them. I really think champions should only scale off of their OWN stats. At least with stat thief items like BoRK, you can say that anyone can buy them, but stat thieving champion nonsense is decided at champ select.

Trundle's entire contribution to a teamfight is stealing an enemy tank's stats, but the amount he steals isn't enough to get him through a teamfight alone. When you consider that he has 1 damaging ability (his ult), and 1 auto enhancer, it's pretty damn balanced.

Trundle's value is that he disrupts the fight by taking care of your tank for his team, so you beat him by playing two tanks on a team, or by just melting him so he's irrelevant.

The rest of your post is mostly acceptable because Fiora's busted as shit, and Veigar's annoying (not broken), but it's still ridiculous. If you hate Fiora, Veigar, and Trundle so much, ban them in champ select. Plain and simple.

I don't hate the champions, I hate their scaling. There's nothing wrong with Trundle other than how he scales, IMHO. Why should you be punished for beating someone?

So by no means am I claiming that Trundle is imbalanced right now. But he could do also the same thing scaling off of his own stats rather than the enemies. So he could steal X armor/MR based on his own tankiness. Doing things that way doesn't devalue your ability to itemize against them and it doesn't rubber-band them so that they can never be too far behind you due to stealing your stats for use against you.

Morde used to be quite a big stat thief, too, but at least he had to kill you for it. Elise also has nothing but %HP and you can see how she goes from broken to bad and vice-versa. At least you can build MR there, though.
