This madness called Diamond 5 needs to be dealt with

So once again i got unfortunate losing streak and as soon as my mmr dropped to area contaminated by Diamond 5 i got endless stream of people who dont belong here and straight forward lose game for their team, even in my recent game i had a support that said hes playing once per month to mainain D5 rank for end seasson rewards and that he dont give a fuck about this game.

Please Riot do something with this division, many people lost any desire to go higher cause D5 is like a wall that cannot be broken through without some serious boosting or premading.

D5 has always been a crappy elo. The previous 2 seasons when I was D3, most of my losses were always around D5 because you get matched with these awful diamond 5 players who obviously only care about making sure they maintain their end-of-season rewards so they're playing the bare minimum games need to avoid elo decay and they're clearly not playing on par the players in their elo that are actually making an effort to climb. These are guys are worse than plat 1 players because at least , a plat 1 player is more motivated to play well and try to climb. The only difference this season is that due to dynamic queue, theres alot more of these awful diamond 5 players. As a solo queue ADC main, I've gotten so many worse supports this season. A few days ago, I got this soraka that did NOT walk up to harass the enemy bot lane with her autoattack. She just stood behind me and healed and randomly last hit some of my minions. Keep in mind that we were ezreal and soraka vs. a sivir braum match-up. She should've played alot more aggressive. You want to know the silver lining for next season? I heard that they're limiting premades to 2 for diamond and above. So, we're definitely going to see alot less boosted players if this is the case.

Why would they remove duo queue though lol? duoqueue has existed for the longest time.

What in the flying fuck is the difference? Nothing changes besides instead of a shiny new go fuck yourself badge, you get different rewards that nobody gives a flying fuck about since they'll be boosted to diamond anyways.

Then you get to diamond, yeah the trimade is finally fucking gone ((trimades have a 70% winrate in diamond)). But then therein also lies the problem that once you reach master/challenger and it's exclusively solo how in the fuck are the pros even going to practice? Some of them run solo yeah, but often times they duo with their support, or someone from on their team to develop better synergy. Duoing has never been a real problem in master/challenger, whereas trio typically is.

And we all know they're not really bringing ranked 5s back ((Yolo dark moon faire ranked 5s ecks fucking DEE))

This solves absofuckinglutely nothing.

One of the guys took the statistics of all of diamond and did the calculations that Rito didn't want to show you. Which is the

team with a 3 man vs the pure solo team/duo team. The winrate of that is 70%, and the sadder part is, it's the most frequent match up in diamond due to how the population + queue time + roles work. It's why diamond is full of GG FML stomps that nobody even wants to play.

apparently so. Well tbh, d5 has always been a crapfest. The only different this year is that the pool of players is bigger because alot of people were/are boosted.

I really hope they do something at least about plat 1 because you're right, its unfair for players to just get premade boosted (referring to teams of 3 or more) in diamond. Alot of players don't understand that d5 is a friggin joke. Its full of these lower skill players who are nowhere near as good as d2 and above. A D5 getting the same border and icon as a D1 player is a joke.

Be persuasive, like me. Lobby skill doesn't mean as much now as it did in prior seasons, but being able to communicate and organize a team in lobby usually leads to people allowing me w/e position I want. When you op.gg everyone and you spit out an ideal team comp featuring everyone playing something well with like a 3 or 4:1 kda and mad skill metrics with 60% win rates and you just happen to be the jungler... people get on board with that shit. Real smooth like too.

I have never been in diamond 5, but it appears to be the 1.) stopping place for boosting 2.) The place where ranked players feel accomplished after reaching and will fool around in it, but only play serious when they are in danger of losing diamond 3.) Smurf accounts for Dynamic ~~boost~~ Queue

I feel you man, last season d5 - I wanted to pull my hear out in every game. This season I only played ranked last 2 weeks because of garbage q, but I got from p4 to d5 and I already see that it would take some monster nerves and not tilting to get out of there, but that's already out the window. Yesterday I lost a 13/2 GP game to a 0/11 trynda, because hey my mid laner somehow got one shotted by a 0/11 trynda constantly. :) I just get sad when I think about that game and it doesn't get any better knowing those kind of games are common for d5. I don't think I'll be playing ranked anytime soon.

They could start with "you have to WIN one game a month to maintain tier activity" instead of "you have to play one match to maintain activity... 'cause ya know, in regular competitive sports, just walking out onto the field maintains your athletic reputation, even if you sit on your butt and turn into a couch potato the rest of the time." I don't speak as someone who plays or cares about ranked. This just seems logical.

There is like no benefit in sitting in P5, gold gives you seasson rewards, diamond is "almost" high elo and looks nice and its quite cheap to boost.

Being this is my first full season and having a fairly good grasp on macro gameplay, getting out of silver has made ranked no fun for me. I was in promos from silver 1 to gold 5 8 times. Every single time I got into promos i'd get 2 or 3 games straight of someone trolling or intent feeding. Even when I made it out of silver it was only because someone on the enemy team started trolling.

I'm lucky to play 2 - 3 ranked games a week now. It seems like every time I get someone who's boosted just for the rewards or gets upset and trolls because something doesn't go their way.

Solo support main life is rough. Hopefully Riot fixes some things for season 7.

Diamond 5 is a special hell

I was at 90+ LP twice in d5 and got two losing streaks that took me down to zero because of ragers and boosted players. It's fucking unreal. I got fed up with it, I'm done trying to climb in this division. I'm not good enough to carry this shit..I don't want to play hundreds of games here to get out man lol

Jhin afk after 5th minute. (20 LP Loss) Riven wrong runes/masteries. (18 LP loss) Nasus mid INTO Azir. (21 LP Loss) Fiora pushes into Naut top lane without any wards. (17 LP loss) Bot lane 0/7 under 6 minutes. (20 LP Loss)

Just Dynamic Queue things.

Went from 2047 MMR to 1800+ in just few hours.

I hope they improve ranked next season, especially for high elo sake. I am not a high elo player but have heard the horror stories and have seen some similar situations in low elo. Granted, there are more players in low elo so its not as common so I personally have not found dynamic queue to be too big of a deal. But in an elo where there is a limited number of players? Yea... definitely can't be good.
