I lost 4 series in a row, where then I win 3 games in a row then lose 2. That means I've won 12 games and lost 8 games and I can't advance... ??? 67% win rate in 20 games and I can't advance ? Alright. Just because I didn't win those exact 2 games, I can't advance. And your LP gain is going down so you keep grinding even more. Promos I get, you advance through a whole division and you gotta prove yourself there I guess. But series are blatantly here to fuck us up. I don't know how else can you justify a 67% win rate not good enough to climb. This shit is so frustrating.

I agree 100%, except that I think that even promos shouldn't exist. I really like how Overwatch's ranked system just makes you go up by MMR. It didn't feel BS and it felt like I was getting a true show of how my skill improved each time I played.

That does not hold true for league.

It used to be true. Back in early seasons LOL had an ELO system in which you could very clearly see your MMR.

Funny thing is, a friend and i were duoing (he's a sivir ADC main and im a vi jungle main) and both trynna climb out of bronze1 into s5. we went on a crazy hot streak (6 wins, 2 losses) and we beat the odds because the 2 most important roles were covered by a pair on comms who were able to read each other and shotcall not-100%-terribly.

He got suspended for "elo boosting or account sharing" (though is currently trying to get that sorted out with riot's support team since that utter bullshit, look @ the scores on both our accs, he's the sivir in my last 8 ranked games, you can see on op.gg) and I can only assume the main reason being that we somehow beat the matchmaking being force-stacked against us for promos out of sheer teamwork and a little bit of a flame de-escalation in one game.

That's pure speculation, but since a booster/botter ban wave hasnt happened recently or today, and its just a 1-off, its suspish

(if it wasn't manual detection, it may have been from the last game's Tryndamere and Fizz whom'st'd'tve both were tox as fuck and HOPEFULLY got chatstruck XD)

If you fail your promos you get 1 free win next time. Unless you are going from bronze to silver or silver to gold, you only have 2 games to win 1 of them.

I feel like Riot locked themselves into this LP system and then had to work around it. They recognized that you could theoretically climb by just having a slightly positive winrate but lots of games, so they put this Promo Series clamp on your climbing. It makes the climb frustrating.

I think Riot wants us to look at LP as a nice reward for a win and a risk for a loss, with promotions being an occasional and exciting thing. I doubt they want to Skinner Box us.
