Really real talk.. What is more important, having a Tank or APC?

Because I find myself in this disgusting conundrum almost every game.

Whats worse is I main support, that means that most of the time Im looking at 4 AD goober pick intents, while trying to figure out If I should attempt to solo carry magic damage or solo tank as the only role with a huge income deficit.

It also means I had to pretty much forget enchanters exist because that requires a balanced comp.

I don't even blame the goobers forcing full AD squishy comps considering their build paths are almost twice as efficient as tanks or AP in this hellish Meta, but I do need to manage somehow and It always comes down to trying to enable 4 AD goobers.

As Support, APC for sure.

A Supp always has less Gold and Level than everyone else. A Tank will only be a Tank if he gets ahead in Gold and Level - when even or behind he can do nothing. Tanky-Supp only work in Teamcomps that already have a good frontline but they can never be the one man frontline by them selfes (also because doing this usually leaves your carry unprotected).

^This. Supports can be the main AP Carry. But they have trouble being the main tank before 40min+.

APC

Depends. If it's a DPS/low cooldown APC such as Cassiopeia Azir AurelionSol Orianna then yea cause they'll be dishing out damage every few seconds. Otherwise I'd go for the tank.

APC. As tank you can't do anything if you have retarded team. As APC you can at least do damage, split push + your support kit.

There are multiple choices in the case of having 4 AD's on your team, but they would mostly come down to what the enemy has. A "pick" specialist like Malzahar or Thresh would be more useful if the enemy has good hard engage. A "universalist" like Karma or Sona would be better in a "poke vs. poke" environment.

If all else fails, you can always pick Teemo.

4 full squish assassin/carry types?

go with the caster. The support tanks all have the problem that they can only do one thing at a time. This kind of team needs you to initiate, peel and control the fight for all of them at the same time. You need a champion that can do that, and the tanks have to commit to a single option.

seems unanimous, which is funny because I always get "we need a tank" "go tank supp" in champ select.

yea that wont be happening anymore.

thanks yall.

As the jungler, I don't show pick intent and wait to see what my goobers are hovering. Depending on the support and top lane choice I will decide between going tank or fighter. Lately, I have been basically full tank/support item Sejuani and it is working out well.

I think if more players had a more flexible approach to champ select, rank would be a much more pleasant time for everyone.

The tragedy I'm always stuck with as a support is either being the engage or the peel, the front line or the back line. It's pretty hard to protect four carries or assassins or edgy duelists at the same time whilst also trying to engage, on a support budget too.

4 ad means you have lost if the opposition has a full armor stacked tank , maybe bard can work so you can take a few people out of the the fight and you assassins can focus out the ones left real quick

If my team has engage, APC. If my team has no engage, I'll pick a tank because odds are we will get picked off if we can't start a fight on our terms.
