Fuck Jungle

Jungle is currently the least liked role. I've often had players filled jungle who would much rather support than play jungle.

The experience and gold from camps are terrible, the pressure to do right by the team is constant, and the jungle is a key target for verbal abuse and harassment that often devolves into all chat insults and requests for reports.

There's hardly any reason anyone should willingly play the role unless they main it and regularly implement the "/fullmute all" feature at the start of every match. Because, otherwise, the role is absolute hell.

Many players wanted jungle to stop cheesing their lanes early on. Riot obliged them. Now lanes, specifically top, are complaining that jungle is never there for them when they need help. Well, guess what. YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS!

I hate jungle, I hate what Riot did to jungle, I hate that Riot even bothered listening to player complaints about jungle and adjusted it accordingly just so that players would do a complete 180 and complain about it regardless.

Seriously, Riot. Always blame jungle isn't a fucking meme. It's the goddamn truth and the constant state of the game. Stop listening to ADC mains, Support mains, Mid mains, and Top mains (...oh, wait, you never listen to them), and actually learn what it is the jungle mains want out of the jungle and what it is they need. Stop shitting on them simply because all the other players do it!

It's so fucking awful anymore to jungle and that's saying something because it wasn't really a wholly enjoyable experience in the beginning anyway. Please, Riot, you're always listening to ADC mains about the game and constantly catering to their whims; it's time for you to stop playing favorites and give another role the attention it deserves and, by extension, the people who play it.

Until then, Fuck Jungle.

It does say a lot when jungle is more autofilled than support lol

I love jungle. I main it and have a good time. It's my laners that piss me off. Cuz when they act dumb and die it's my fault lol. But all n all I love ganking and making plays.

I actually switched to support this season because I was tired of the bull crap with Jungle. Almost lost it after my mid laner got 1 kill early and then proceeded to push under enemy tower without summoners against an enemy Kayn. Rather then say

" I shouldn't push against such a mobile jungler with no form of escape" I get " GG JUNGLER DIFFERENCE"

Fuck top laners. First they complained that they were getting ganked at ~2:40 (season 7 lvl 3 ganks) which they could EASILY prepare and ward for but were too stubborn to do. Now they're complaining because they're losing lane 1v1 and junglers have to path differently with all the changes that THEY requested so blue side junglers can't be topside before 3 minutes. Seriously, they may be the biggest whiners in the entire game.

People talk about junglers getting flamed all the time but junglers are also the most toxic people in the game. Walking between camps is free flame time for minor things. Invading without priority then dying is never their fault. Dying when they got pinged off of a gank is somehow their laners fault. Scuttle is worth more than anything else in the world to them, and if you dont think it is and drop everything for them you'll get flamed all game(even if helping costs multiple times the xo and gold that scuttle gives)

Most players need to look at pro junglers on YouTube and take some notes. They purposely avoid shitter lanes and try to capitalize on lanes who are winning. If they see incredibly stupid plays by their teammates in a lane, that's it -- almost no ganks for that lane outside of playing around objectives. They absolutely will not feed a champion gold, however, if they feel that the player behind the champ is incompetent.

In my early days I used to wonder why junglers wouldn't help when the enemy was pushed into my lane. I've never been a jungler. It only took a few videos to realize why that was the case. A paradigm shift occurred, and my instinct shifted to farming and keeping a sustained lane without losing it miserably. The approach of most unaware players is to (try to) shit on their lane 100% of the time, which means sometimes they do and other times they feed miserably (and a good portion of the time they give up multiple waves of CS for a kill that may or may not happen). That's wildly unpredictable, and when you're getting shit on, a good jungler will not babysit your lane. He/she will attempt damage control/lane salvaging to a degree, but the players who receive consistent ganks are the ones who are making good plays, keeping ahead in CS, and generally exhibiting knowledge on the game's state. Those players also hardly ever ask for a gank due to being self-reliant. They may alert the jungler to a lack of wards, a good gank opportunity, etc., but they're not crying in all chat about "better jungler wins". They certainly don't whine when the jungler doesn't gank, either. Even when it's legitimately freelo.

Unfortunately, only those who are open to improvement will actually look at the game's state objectively. It seems a good number of players are stuck in a mentality where a bad game = bad team, even when they're the one feeding. We all have games where we're far ahead of our team, but the vast majority of games are not simply our team being idiots while we play like we're in LCS.

As a jungle main i have to agree the things i don't like is because the lack of exp and gold you get from the camps you are pretty much FORCED to gank for that 1 asshole that pings for help 2mins in before you can even hit level 3 and when you refuse because you only have 20% of your hp and need to back he blames you and says "gg report noob jg" then he leaves his lane and follows you all game take all your camps and cuts the exp you get and when your score is negative from the unwanted idiot shadowing you the whole time you get reported for inting by him and his duo....damn 12 year old summer break kids IM LOOKING AT YOU

IbnBattuta6/25/2019, 4:18:43 PM5 votes

If you're gonna push your lane hard and play under enemies' tower, don't complain to me after that their jungle ganked you: It's not my fault that you don't pay attention to tower aggro, minions aggro, enemy champ under his own tower, and the opening you left for enemy jungle to come and gank you. So why do you want me to come to die with you? I'll come if I'm confident I'll kill at least one of them or if I'd be able to provide an escape for you but if I know we're just gonna die, I won't bother to come.

Zac isn't Jax who isn't Yi who isn't Kayn who isn't Graves who isn't Kindred: Jungle role itself doesn't mean that all jungle heroes does play the same or will do the same task the same as others. I'll go 1v3 with Yi and get triple. I'll go 1v5 with Zac and will get alive out of the situation. But sometimes, I'll keep farming and gank later in the game for a reason. I'll gank in level 2 with some, in level 4 with others, and in level 6 with some champs as well. It's all depending on the champion I'm playing, his kit, enemy jungle, map's vision, overall matchup, our current situation, current alive towers, and other factors which I put into my consideration before I decide to gank you now, or later. So you should put yourself into Jungle's shoes and have the same experience with the same champion before complaining.

The jungle isn't at fault for losing your lane: You lost your lane because you failed to do so, not because I didn't help you. If a jungle ganked bot when I'm ADC, I make sure to get at least a kill or a double while they think they're smart to gank me under my own tower. Even if I lost my tower, I'd make sure the same case scenario doesn't happen to mid -lane as an example and help push his lane so he would be able to help me as well. I even sometimes tell my supp to leave me alone in bot and go assist mid since he will be more of assistance to him than me. If I play top, I'd make sure to ward so I know before any jungle gank me and make sure I live at the end. Lastly, If I need a gank, I make sure to "freeze the wave" closer to my tower and tell the jungle beforehand that I need his assistance and pay attention to his location so when he is available, I get that sweet kill regardless of my lane is.

Summary: Put yourself in the jungle shoes before starting to blame him, and play smart.

If I get constantly invaded by the enemy jg and my laners don't collapse, I'm ok with just losing the game and not doing anything, because I don't want to play by that point.

TwitchInMyPants6/25/2019, 5:30:20 PM5 votes

Honestly Riot's attitude for balancing the jungle is probably the biggest factor

"EARLY GAME GANKS FROM SPECIFIC CHAMPIONS ARE OP!?!?! TIME TO NERF THE ENTIRE ROLE!!!!"

Like seriously, nerfing xp and gold does slow down these gankers marginally but you'd get the same effect by just nerfing their numbers instead of going for the hamfisted approach that hurts every jungler and makes plenty on the weaker end basically vanish from the jungle. I think a tough jungle can be a good environment if done well, its rarely done for the sake of anything but stopping people from complaining about lv2 ganks.

Wild Geese6/25/2019, 4:41:41 PM4 votes

They've made the jungle so hard to clear, combined with so little farm and levels. It's really hard to do a full clear if you don't jungle frequently - and if I'm counterjungled by somebody who knows what they're doing I'm starved or dead...

The only way I've found to play jungle in fills is do halfassed ganks and then soak xp and even steal some minions when possible. I look for empty lanes and steal minions regardless of wave management.

14daysuspensionk6/25/2019, 10:46:55 AM4 votes

I love jungling. Running around spearing people and turning into a cougar, or being the embodiment of death and throwing arrows everywhere. All the possbilities to go where ever you want during laning phase instead of being forced to kill minions for the first 15 minutes.

Velasan6/25/2019, 10:20:08 PM3 votes

I am a jungler, and part of the issue they keep adding more and more things to keep track of that no one really wants to deal with.

Plants, scuttles, heralds, on top of the normal invading, ganks, farming, and focusing on drags and first blood towers.

This could have been written in a much more constructive manner, but I agree. I've been a jungle main since I started playing league and I can't stand the jungle right now.

  • You can't farm to stay ahead, in fact you'll fall behind farming jungle after second clear it feels (during second clear on a lot of champs it feels).
  • Clear patterns are messed up. We had to clear 2 or 3 camps then scuttle before to reach level 3, now it's 4 to 6 camps which can't be scuttle.
  • Scuttle is still super valuable but it's timing never fits in with any clear patterns I try. I either waste 15-20 second waiting for it, or I'm 20-30 seconds late to it.
  • It feels like I hit level 3 waaaay later now. Used to be jungle had a high contribution to first kill, now it feels like I'm lucky to get to a lane before second blood.
  • I feel super pressured at all times. I took a short, one patch break from jungle and now I just feel suffocated because I'm always behind on xp and gold. It feels like unless I have pro level knowledge I can't keep up. That my clear path is just slightly too inefficient, that my build order is just slightly suboptimal, and my ability to time a gank when I'm across the map isn't up to par. And it feels like if I'm not perfect in all of these I'm playing from behind the whole game, and so is my team.
  • The stress on top of micro managing by team members or flaming is just too much.

The scuttle changes weren't ready to go live. They feel like a bandaid fix because now we have the worst of both worlds: no early interactions, and a weaker early game.

Crescent Dusk6/25/2019, 11:19:30 PM3 votes

Gank mid lane, get enemy midlaner flash. Mongoloid Mordekaiser goes back to farming as I head for crab and the 20% health caitlyn obviously starts rotating to my crab.

Does Morde rotate? No, he pings me because he wants me to abandon crab since his lazy ass won't move to river preemptively to return the favor by securing an easy 2v2 with a half dead, flash-less caitlyn+ xin zhao while he's at full health.

I tell him I'm not ganking his lane. He proceeds to yell in map chat where I'm at and to tell people to take river objectives just to spite me. I'm fine with just afk farming and losing the game without getting camped, but the vegetable still blames me for losing them the game.

Another game, gank a Jayce, twice. First when he was getting ganked by Jax and Renekton, whose renekton was hald dead since Jayce was beating him in lane. What did the Jayce do when I peeled him? Abandon me to a 2v1 death.

Another gank to that Jayce, a 30% health Renekton under tower. I land warwick ult. Does the Jayce step up to capitalized on a stunned target that's almost dying? No, he stays back CS'ing minions while the Renekton stuns me and kills me under tower after my ult ends.

That's jg in a nutshell.

It's a coinflip of not getting the shitty automaton farm laners or the feeders who only want a gank when they've got their opponent pushed in or have fed them 3 deaths in 5 minutes.

I'm a returning player and I notice the little xp/gold given from Jungling. Though I still like to Jungle I notice I get yelled at for ganks even though my team is pushed up to the enemy towers and I'm level 3...

Taliban Zilean6/26/2019, 12:37:07 PM2 votes

The problem is with the other noob lanes who expect you to play their lane for them.

GankLord6/26/2019, 1:02:52 PM2 votes

You see what my name is right? Ganklord. It's because I used to love jungle but I can't anymore because you can't win no matter what you do. This is the season I've all but given up on jungle and I've been playing since s2. If you get one lane fed another one feeds their enemy laner too much before you can make it down there. IF YOU NEED A GANK THEN WAIT FOR IT STOP FIGHTING THE ENEMY LANER YOU NEED GANKED!

Most frustrating role to play next to ADC
