We already have many dedicated anti-AA items that screw over ADCs and on hit champs

We need an item that targets ad casters

We also need an MR item that's dedicated to spell-spam champions.

Maybe an MR Health Item with an active that generates 75~ points of magic shield per second over 6 seconds (capped at 150~). Wouldn't be great against burst mages, but could take maybe 450~ damage off a combo that lasts a while. Something along those lines could specifically target dps magic.

No idea what could be done for an anti-ad caster item though.

something similar to that exists in smite. but in smite they have items that exist to counter specific types of champions.

i think its called stone of gaia? (dont qoute me on that) it provides a constant max health heal that is supposed to counter DoT champions

stuff like this could be very useful in league

Melledoneus3 votes

Yes. I am tired of fucking Cassiopeia bending me over despite having built tons of MR and HP.

Spoofghoul1 votes

ive talked about this a lot in the past and always suggested something along the lines of item 1054 on steroids

You see the damage reduction works vs very well vs single target which most dps is which includes magic dps now crits hit much harder so it's not that effective vs those but it's easier to get items to counter that like tabi randuins etc

What i would like to see is an item which gives hp + mr + regen + passive which reduces incoming damage by 10 + x% of missing hp

Very simple item concept which would help a lot vs magic dps especially

armor itself does that....

AD Casters don't usually have as much sustained damage as ADCs and on-hit champions so just getting more health and a bit of armor to survive their initial rotation will shut them down.

Melledoneus3 votes

Darius Gee, Illaoi I Jayce see Khazix no Rengar sustained Riven damage Talon here.

TyrekGoldenspear7 votes

Can you really count Darius as an AD caster though?

He gets most of his damage through his AAs and bleed.

Melledoneus4 votes

His combo consists of like two autos, one of them being an ability empowering an auto.

His whole kit revolves around stacking bleed and getting his ult off. An auto-attacker wouldn't do that.

TyrekGoldenspear1 votes

Hmm. You got me there.

Can we throw Pantheon on the pile?

Melledoneus1 votes

Pantheon is more burst. Once his combo is down he's significantly less of a threat.

Panth Q is on a 4s CD and most Panths get around 30% CDR

Melledoneus4 votes

By that logic everyone has sustained damage.

Heroquet6 votes

Well... everyone was designed when cdr was a rare thing on ad items - on purpose. Brutaliser, and that was it. YGB wasn't a thing because of it's low ad - crit combo, so that ended up as black cleaver only. For 10% cdr.

which is exactly the problem with lol nowadays...just no windows to play around anymore.

Almost all of those champions are burst focused. Riven and Darius are the only ones with any sort of semblance of sustained damage once their combos are down, and that's because of their steroids.

Melledoneus1 votes

The rest have their 'burst' on sub-5 second cooldowns. That's a constant rotation, thus sustained damage.

That is not sustained damage lol

Sustained damage is ADC and DPS mage style of damage. Those champions have decently long windows of weak points. Sustained damage champions don't in their damage, hence they are not sustained damage champions

Meep Man1 votes

I said don't usually. Also, I don't get Talon's sustained damage here.

Melledoneus1 votes

He can constantly keep comboing, and his passive is a DoT, the complete opposite of burst.

It's called Doran's shield unless the target magically has alot of AoE physical damage. Any type of ability that 'applies' single target damage will be reduced also by item 1054, which is very useful to counter auto aggressive or single target heavy based champions in the early laning phases, usually giving plenty of free room to handle any opponents who focus on single target harass to 'snowball' win the lane, but being denied it will make them get heavily underpowered if they are forced to be delayed on 'gaining big CS'.

Plenty of other items exist but its more of a matter of being smart to actually pick the proper ones to counter enemy champions, without outright wasting time buying a item that would be not very useful on you. Like using a item 3091 on Kayle is much better then a item 3102 since the former synergizes with Kayle's playstyle, does bonus 'magic damage on hit' and will also 'STEAL' MR in the process so kayle can counter AP opponents alot better and also amp up her own damage and other magical damage based allies thanks to the MR theft.

Vanguard Update's looking to fix that, I think. Keyword being "Think", because we have no information yet as to what items may be changed or introduced when that time rolls around.

Calabok1 votes

no we dont.

Bob the Toastr1 votes

Yes yes yes yes yes yes. I play Illaoi and Kha and Jayce and the amount of damage from abilities is just rediculous.

item 3742 item 3068 item 3143 item 3075 item 3110 item 3025 item 3157 item 3109 item 3069 Do we really need another armor item though? We have an armor item for roaming, an armor item for waveclear, 3 armor items for countering auto-reliant champs, an armor item for Spellblade users, an armor item for casters, and 2 armor items for supports.

The only defense-oriented MR-dedicated items you can get are item 3065 and item 3102.

Defense-offense hybrid MR items include item 3001 item 3156 item 3139 item 3091.

item 3026 item 3512 item 3190 item 3060 are hybrid armor/MR items. I haven't forgotten them.

Earl Eulrich1 votes

no? we just need armor that again reduces physical dmg by a noticable amount instead of getting basically ignored later on in the game.

It is pretty annoying going into the shop like "Hmm, they have a Talon mid, Jayce top, and Rengar jungle. Obviously, let's get some armor, but which item? HMMM guess I'll get item 3742." Ugh, I mean, there are a ton of armor items in general, but I'm kinda tired of Deadman's being the best choice and then feeling bad about getting any other armor item because of the wasted stats mana and/or passives on them. Not the worst situation, because there are certainly plenty of options, but it never feels good.

item 3075 - the passive now works on all physical damage.

That would make ad casters trash tbh

So in other words something that can stack with fearless giving flat damage reduction on a static cooldown.
