You're a total idiot if you go temporarily AFK in a ranked game

"fuck I thought I was at tower" says the vel'koz that walked halfway in to bot lane afk (without telling us he was going afk) and got 4 people killed as we tried to save him (fought the two there thinking the 3 of us could keep them off, as the enemy team collapsed and cleaned up 4).

Seriously guys - your dog can wait. Your food can wait. Don't order pizza that's going to arrive midway through a ranked game. Etc.. etc...

Your house is on fire? Fine. Someone died? Fine. Etc...

There's a massive difference here.

Why do people think their individual time is so important that they can't wait 15min for a pizza instead of starting a game right as they order it? I mean - you're not challenger. You didn't click in to queue expecting a half hour wait and it just came fast. You knew full well you'd be in the middle of a game when it arrived...

Well, you can't blame him. You guys were the ones dumb enough to follow. It's called map awareness I think?

I don't even know how to respond to this.

It isn't dumb to follow when you don't know the guy is afk. We thought he just overextended and if he reacted when we went to save him we probably would have won the fight. I mean, it ended up as a 4v4 where we had an afk and our mid/jg joined the fight before theirs did. Minus the AFK that fight is our advantage.

If your CEO said to follow him and he jumped off a cliff, would you continue to follow? No, because you are conscious of the repercussions and know that decision was dumb. The CEO had a fatal flaw and you know that action is a flaw. You don't know if your CEO never noticed the cliff or he wasn't paying attention. All you know is that he jumped off a cliff.

Apply that scenario to this case. You guys simply followed without thinking. What you should've done is thought about what was going on more rationally, and say "My teammate is executing a very bad play. I should not follow up and make my whole team die."

I can't believe people actually support this. If you're alone with dogs (i.e. someone else can't take them out) then why are you playing a ranked game? That's ridiculous to me.

So you should pick between owning dogs or playing video games? That sounds more ridiculous, and I don't even like dogs.

No.

First - there are loads of OTHER video games that allow you to pause or don't affect 4 other players when you decide you need to deal with your dogs. Second - do you have a job with a dog? if your dog is okay for 8 hours while you're at work, your dog is okay for 30min while you're finishing a game. When it gets close to when you should be taking them out to pee - don't queue up. Now he's saying his dogS bladders aren't synchronized - admittedly I'm not a pet owner so I have no idea why someone as an individual would own more than 1 dog, but it would seem that if you personally need to have multiple dogs you'd probably be building your life around that (and if there's another person - let them deal with the dogs when you're in a ranked game). And again - they can last 8 hours while you're at work. Even with 3 dogs spread out as much as possible, that's an easy 2h40min between their turns.

Well you need to synchronize your dog bladders. . .

Everyone is going to be a bitch here lel. The OP has a point, the people in this forum want you to say it as politely as possible and then watch them support you. Pftt

Peeing is not an good excuse and as for dogs then i have no fkn idea as i don't have a pet. The fact the velk went afk whilst going botlane is stupid. Whenever i go afk i always make sure i tp back to base or if it is super urgent i stay behind a tower. If anything OP has a point but there are times when you have to be afk but everyone should be careful that they need to afk somewhere where they can't die for the time being.

I am a supp main so i always try my best to save my team mates. If one goes afk all of a sudden and i don't realize it, i will still try to save him. That's just how i am, i can't help but to make the mistakes of my allies more forgiving.

I can't count the number of players that had to leave the game because they had to pee. Next time you do it, do it in a cup and pour it down the drain later!

Err.. I pee before I queue up. That's sort of my point. Why in the world are you entering a ranked game without an empty bladder?
