OH OK (champion mastery)

Ive been an outspoken individual in regards to the short amount of time needed to "master" a champion. as its been stated by uncle rito that it will take 15-30 games to master a champ at tier 5. Well upon further research, they said in the patch notes...

We’re kicking off Champion Mastery with the first five ranks for each champion unlocked.

and

This is just the beginning for Champion Mastery. As the system matures, we’ll unlock extra tiers and rewards as we build on the program! "

so perhaps there is more prestigious tiers of mastery that will be released at a later date. I approve whole heartedly.

Have fun in your games, good luck in your matches everyone!

Don't know if you were the same guy, but I was talking in one of those threads, and I thought that 15-30 games should be enough to be called proficient. Even assuming that's just to the surrender timer, that's 5-10 hours as a champion. Unless you're playing extremely horribly, you should at least deserve recognition as a player.

Sure, I wouldn't go so far as to call it mastered--although, some playstyles can be that easy to master for some people--but right now, this is just the beta of the system. And they did state, originally, that these aren't going to be the only rankings available.

So I'm glad to hear that people realize Riot's going to flesh this system out, a bit at a time.

i feel that if you invest 5-10 hours into a champ over a few seasons, its not much. and shouldnt be called mastery. There should be the casual tiers, like 1-3 that pretty much everyone has.. then those that really put effort into getting them should get 4-5. it should be 100 games at least IMO.

Well, this system is still only in beta. I would consider these preliminary ranks "Proficiency" rather than "Mastery" ranks. But Riot's not going to change the name of the system just for vocabulary fags like me.

But, unless you wait enough time to forget how a champion works, I don't think it matters if the hours are consecutive. And, while I know I'm not the standard, I've pretty much memorized all of the champions' core mechanics and a lot of secondary stuff. Even if I don't play the champion, I should know them so I can play against them.

agreed, you should have that down by level 30, then learn the abiltiies limits of all champions before ranked imo. still though 15 good games with a champ and you have the highest possible tier of mastery according to riot. Thats where i see the flaws in this system xD

I think that means that the first five levels are able to be reached, not that you automatically have each champ at rank 5
