The vayne buffs targeted the wrong thing.

Riot buffed vayne because she needed to be buffed, but they buffed the wrong things. Instead of buffing her W, the core part of her kit that offers the most reactionary counterplay, they buffed her Q and gave her insane burst with the critical strike build. She definitely needed some buffs, 46% winrate, low winrate among her mains, no LCS play, she wasn't doing well but buffing her burst damage was a little dumb. EDIT: an alt way of buffing her could have been to decrease E CD or decrease Q cd (but keep Q damage the same or slightly less)

I'll explain so we are both back on track Vayne needed buffs > riot buffed the wrong thing on vayne > the community is angry because the buffs were bad > the point of this post is stating that vayne still needs buffs but riot just buffed the wrong part of her kit.

I think that's being generous to the community. Some people are angry because they get very, very salty about Vayne whenever she's even slightly relevant, and aren't good judges of her actual balance state. I think we'd be seeing these exact same complaints if Vayne had gotten different buffs.

Actually, that's not entirely true. I think if her W got a buff, we'd see even more complaints. I can just see it now: "HOLY FUCK RIOT MORE %TRUE DAMAGE FUCK YOU" repeated 50 times.

i think vayne is very strong and if not that than she's OP. Cause she has so much out play potential and the reason her winrate is so low because she takes a quite bit of skill she's not too good in teamfights either.

Because her being only sustained damage late game is weak.

Twitch had somewhat less sustained damage, but more burst, range, and AOE damage late game.

They are refining her niche into being THE big boy damage carries of big boy damage carries in terms of auto attacks, but only within her relatively small threat radius. The buff also gave her a better mid game, which is what she needed.

Why not just buff her W damage then to make her the "big daddy of AA carries"? What does turning her into a Q spam for damage do for her other than encourage her to stack AD and CDR to one shot squishies?
