I think it's fair to say that Randuin's Omen needs it's stats back with all the massive crit buffs

Don't understand why the item was nerfed so hard but yea, this item needs buffs now that everyone will be running around abusing crit and the new keystone

It's fine, we have a ton of armor options, we would be ruining the item diversity by making item 3143 the armor item to pick yet again.

It's -10% crit reduction with the sweet defensive tree masteries (One of the keynotes gives 8% total damage reduction for example) won't make things worse for tanks, and with the MR buffs on some items like item 3102 and item 3065 we won't have Leblanc bursting tanks as easily now.

Leblanc : I can't burst tanks anymore.... Caitlyn : "Tips fedora" It's ok, ADC can melt tanks now + be sustain tanks Leblanc : Oh, thank goodness. At least mages are still viable. Caitlyn : .... "Hides all the new AD-MR items"

-8% damage taken (keystone, only 8% if theres an ally nearby) -10% AA (ninja tabi) -10% crit taken (Omen) 200AD will hit you for 165Ad before armour. 200AD crit will hit you for 331Ad (414AD with IE) before armour

Now that's Damage alone, let's introduce only 2 new AD items. (not going to bother with the broken Keystones for damage) Lord Dominik's Regards - Grants up to 15% Damage against enemy champions with greater maximum health than you (+1.5% damager per 50 health difference, maxing at 500 health Rapid Firecannon - Your Energized attacks gain 35% bonus range (+150 range maximum) and deal 50-200 bonus magic damage (based on level) on hit.

200AD will hit you for 190 AD (with Lord Regards ) + 200 Magic dmg Crit's are the pretty much the same as the previous crits +30-45AD +200 Magic damage

Randuin's Omen Health increased to 450 from 400 Total cost increased to 3000 from 2700

1Hp = 2.666 Gold Price increase is 300 gold, We only get 50Hp which should cost 133 Gold. Omens gold efficiency has dropped, (was 85%, but now it's 74/75% Gold efficient)

Ps: Don't play thresh. He got destroyed with the pen changes.

Especially with how easy it is to obtain critical strike chance now, and the amount of options you have to build critical strike

RisenDarkKnight1 votes

Yeah IDK why they added/buffed crit on everything. It seems impossible to make a 6 item adc build with no crit (Bloodthirster and BoRK nerfed hard, Runaans has crit now, Triforce, Static and new Static have more crit, Essence Reaver is good now (and has crit)). The only good options are like the new Youmuus (which doesn't have crit anymore but does have 65 ad) and the new last whispers. Black cleaver may work I guess (since it shreds all armor while last whisper now only works on bonus armor).

Why would you want to build an ADC with no crit? In addition to interacting with some of the new masteries, critical hit chance increases your DPS more per gold piece than straight AD once you have ~140 AD. I'm not sure of the exact breakpoint with the new gold efficiencies, but auto-attack champions deal way more damage with crit than non-crit builds. That's part of why item 3006 item 3153 item 3072 item 3035 item 3139 item 3508 isn't a typical ADC build.

Well kalista for one. Kog'maw, Corki, and Ezreal also don't usually build more crit than triforce in their first 3 items. Mostly I had Miss Fortune in mind as I like to rush BT on her sometimes, but now you have to rush a crit item since her ult scales with crit and BT is so much worse now. Kalista is probably the only adc who usually builds no crit, but Kog, Corki, and Ez used to go very low crit builds for the first couple items, but now they pretty much have to invest in the RNG.

rampaging poet2 votes

Ok, makes sense. I don't play those ADCs very often, so I forgot about the Triforce builders. The Triforce builders get a lot of damage from their abilities, so building more AD makes sense. Kalista also gets most of her damage from Rend instead of auto-attacks, so she just needs the AS and AD.

Everyone else gets their damage from auto-attacks, so critical hit chance is better on them. Regardless of the fact that bad runs of non-crits (which happen less often than they would if each attack "really" had 50% crit chance or whatever), your expected damage output increases faster by "investing in the RNG." So much faster that after you have one real AD item buying more AD is pointless. That's why any items they want ADCs to seriously consider have crit - because otherwise they aren't real options.

Oh i know crit builds are usually better. My typical build is Infinity Edge into phantom dancer on most adcs. I was just hoping the new items would support a non-crit based build options as well. But ah well the new season should be interesting.

Yeah, I guess Riot just gave up on trying to balance on-hit vs crit so they added more options to for crit builds instead. Having a bunch of items with similar costs and stats makes picking them for their passives much more justifiable.

Ez, sadly, has to get crit now. x.x Essence Reaver is now a crit item rather than a LS item and Trinity force lost AS, AD, and all the AP on it to give 10% more crit chance and 10% CDR. You can at least get 40% CDR with just a Trinity Force and Essence Reaver, but that's 2 crit items just to get the mana regen you need (Which only procs on crits, so you need a second crit item to even make it work).

Corki is going to end up getting crit too. Kog is about the only one who won't be focusing on Crit, but with how many items are now crit-based, you'll have to end up picking up crit.

NoBootsAllowed1 votes

can say the same to rivens ult cd increase.. early cdr is getting gutted in preaseason 6 so revert riven ult cd Kappa ?

RisenDarkKnight1 votes

Well it possible to get 45% cdr now. I don't think they nerfed any cdr items besides Lucidity boots (though that nerf was harsh and unecessary).

Yosuke Apperu3 votes

Lucidity boots now also give 10% cool down to summoner spells no?

dangopee1 votes

At least it got its old price back! LOL (yes it is 3000g now on PBE with only 50 more HP and that's it)

Cloud Potato1 votes

The reason it was nerfed probably has something to do with being the most powerful defensive item in the game for years, and it's still the most powerful Armor item after its nerf. If ADCs are really that much more powerful, then Armor items need to be buffed across the board, not just one item.

Dunkrius2g1 votes

LOL it got a bigger nerf as well. 3000g for the same stats.

Only thing I'm not liking is going to be the lose of Reinforced Armor in the masteries. Put that together with Randuins and Ninja Tabi and the % reduction in the new masteries and you could wade through a whole team of ADC laughing.

SoMNia1 votes

What are you talking about? Randuin's Omen is STRONGER against crits than it was before. Less AD and more crit across all items makes it an even better item, and now you want to buff it?

SlampieceHawke1 votes

Aside from randuins... I don't even see why I should build armor or mr or health anymore. Every champ coming out gets % health damage. Might as well have everyone go glass cannon from here on out. nice moves riot

Blue Mystified1 votes

This is actually definitely true. I don't care what other options we have, if yasuo is going to be having 100% crit with way too much lifesteal then we definitely need this item buffed up again.

Ipressbutton1 votes

I'm kinda disappointed. I was hoping they would go in the opposite direction and remove crit, then balance from there. Losing a skirmish cause the other dude just happened to crit twice in a row is bullshit

Clyde Cash1 votes

Maybe the should buff the attack speed slow part? idk please dont kill me
