ZZ Rot

What do people feel about the ZZ Rot? Personally I like the item.

I was just told it was a waste after I asked someone to please not to push the lane I put the ZZ in. When I support I very often will sneak to a lane and put the ZZ down and then join my team to push another lane. The other team gets so distracted by seeing us on the map that they come to stop us and not the lane the ZZ is in.

But then there is almost always 1 erson that as soon as you put the ZZ down...they want to branch off and go to that lane and take the enemy with them...then the enemy pushes it and kills the ZZ.

it is a effective item and there have been so many times i have got turret kills in lanes when i was on the other side of the map.

Whenever i use Heimerdinger its the 1st item i build and put it behind my turret. With that and my 3 turrets I dont even need ganks. My lane opponent cant push. So the jungler can just concentrate mid and bot or top and bot if im mid. And soon as they leave to go help other lanes i take their tower. ive help off double and triple team camps in my lane with ZZ combined with banner while my team pushes other lanes because enemy is trying to push mine.

So why do people think its a waste? It can control your lane and earns you gold. If got early it can literally pay for itself by time game ends.

This is the single reason I never buy it. Because the majority of people that play this game are stupid.

I think it's quite good and I've built it sometimes, but it's not made much of a difference. Now that you say that you put it in different lanes I might try that

Yeah..you will rack up gold. 1 mistake a lot of people make is putting it in a place where it can be killed. I put it behind the towers.........its funny watching the enemy run past the minions to check the bushes and then realize its in a place they cant get to it....unless they push the wave to your tower....but by then somene on your team should be there.

Putting it behind turret is ineffective after 1st turret goes down

I dont find that so. Its not AS effective as 1st turret to 1st turret but even if you take the 1st turret...they will still reach the 2nd turret right before they die on their own in the mid lane.....thats still some sort of stallment of the lane.

But i would say after that yeah in needs to go out further...unless you are just playing it defensively.

Well what I do is put it somewhere in the jungle, next to a lane, or somewhere else

As long as the area of effect is within range of tower, putting it anywhere is good. If youre a champion with low waveclear or you want to stall lane and roam, zzrot is super, super good. DiscoHeat used it for tom and it did super well.

Because the Koreans haven't popularized it yet in any major gameplay, so nobody will recognize it.

I say Korean, because people refer to these off-meta, strong builds as Korean builds. Despite me having done it for years... Half accidently.

Trick2G and Sirhcez popularized it to the point that people were using it consistently, hence the ZZrot nerfs. It already had it's surge in popularity, but it's died back down mostly.

A couple months ago everyone was building the zz rot after it saw little to no play prior. Then is got nerfed and I can't remember if the cost was raised. I know the the minions were weakened and it became a 5 hit item to kill. Then turrets got buffed making it easier for them to withstand rot minions. Also movement speed was lowered across the board with specific items making the Udyr zzrot split push harder to effectively execute.

One reason it saw play was because if a support went and found a zz rot it would take them an endless amount of AA to kill it. Wasting a lot of time that they could be with the team or warding.

Now it is a bit too costly as an item to rush. With the stats getting a slight reduction and other items being buffed the item doesn't see as much play. I still see one every not and then but it definitely doesn't feel as oppressively annoying as it did a couple months ago.

the 5-hit kill thing was actually kindve a late game buff though tbh. I mean AD champs would just demolish it in a couple hits by that point.

How is it a buff? 5 hits to kill the Zzrot nerfs the item significantly making it so that the people most like to find it (supports) can actually kill it.

If your ADC is kill a zzrot, your adc is probably bad. They should be with the team dealing damage to champions, but clearing a distraction that is likely put in the top or bottom lane to shove a wave.

the team could be going anywhere and whoever finds it is gonna clear the zzrot. A lot of adcs will go to side lanes in between fights, and clear a few waves. It's also not just the adc, it's things like AD heavy top laners/junglers etc.

It's a good item to keep your lane pushing. It's an even BETTER item when used as a bait. Put it in a brush and when the enemy walks inside to hit it, kill 'em with your jungler (You probably wont have the damage because you spent gold on the portal)

try that with teemo. I always split-push on teemo anyway, so I can only see hilarity ensuing. especially since any movespeed buff is op on him. just shroom near it. could be maybe 3rd item after nashors/liandrys.

I think it has a lot of hidden power.

The movement speed buff is easy to underestimate because people usually underestimate the effect of movement speed. The amount it gives is a LOT.

It gives both MR and Armor on the same Item. The only other thing I can think of which does this is GA. since up to a certain number resistances are more important than HP, this allows you to easily tick both boxes if you're not building against a specific kind of damage.

It's TERRIBLY gold efficient. not just because of the relatively low cost, but it can really rack up a lot of gold over the course of a match thanks to the minion kills. Imagine how fast you would buy any other item if riot randomly decided to take 600-1000 gold off the price.

anything that messes with the pushing mechanics is op. People don't realize how much things can be influenced by where the minion waves are at in any given moment. Plus people aren't likely to notice it quickly the way they'll notice your portrait on the map, unless you get too blatant about using it. stealth-pushing like that is really powerful

The only problem I have is that a lot of the power it gives is situational. The MS buff depends on where you are standing. The free refund, and pushing power depends on enemy map awareness, your decision-making skill, and just random luck sometimes. Also the armor/mr, while being good in terms of price and diversity, lose in raw power what they gain in diversity. You get what you pay for in that respect.
