Mid laners how do you keep farm up?
Whenever I go mid, once a bot turret falls and the teams group mid it's almost impossible for me to get any farm because my adc/top/jungler take all of it. How in the world do you guys keep up your cs?

you can't do anything
sadly as a mage main I suffer from that :( even the jungler comes mid and takes my farm , when my team group in mid when I'm playing
I can't kill any minions with my e or q , while the adc can easily clean my waves , and if I try to go bot , the adc keeps pinging to go back , when I ask why am I not allowed to get any farm ? they say adc is the most important one and needs gold more than anyone else
and later they make fun of my low farm
and of I try to ignore them and farm bot , they will int and tell everyone to report me
I'm really tired of this as a mages main
Mute the ADC and take the farm. Don't worry about being reported. As long as you're not a toxic player you won't get punished for anyone reporting you for game mechanics like farming or even taxing lanes.

I know that but reporting isn't the problem , the problem is when the player starts inting :(
Sometimes it happens and it just sucks. If you get some good CS, an item up and start carrying though I've found most of them will start trying if they think they're getting LP.
Mages are the only time I get a chance to farm in the late game. Assassins are much worse. Try farming on Leblanc in late game. Takes 1.5 seconds to set up the Q bounce and forces you to use your W cooldown, which I would rather not do right before a 5v5 breaks out.
If you can't kill any minions with your e you are doing something wrong.
Lux's E damage isn't high enough to 1 shot minions, even with Luden's Echo. You need the AA proc or pre-damaged minions.
If you have to pre-damage every minion before you E and if someone is in your lane, you'll have trouble evenly damaging minions to clear them and the ADC will be eating your farm so fast while you're aa-ing the minions to E pop them that you'll have lost more than 2/3 of that wave to an ADC. The passive pop won't help because by the time you've gotten 2, the ADC has gotten 4 minions.
Late game, Lux can instaclear lanes and catch up on farm but by then, she's lost her snowball potential and her teammates have actually shafted themselves out of an early win because they don't understand Lux's dynamic.
Top and bot almost always go into ARAM mode mid game. Just keep an eye on those lanes while you're doing whatever at mid, dragon, etc. When you see a double wave build up around river plan to start heading to that lane as soon as you're finished with your current objective. If your team is just sniffing around mid for a pointless fight then head straight there.
You should be able to catch quite a bit of CS during mid and late game this way just by paying closer attention than your teammates. If they see you heading there and ping you back just ignore and/or mute them.
Learn how to catch waves?
I'm not a mid main, but no matter what position I play, I usually have some of - if not the most CS on the map. It has a lot more to do with your positioning and your decision making than it does with other players.
There's also the jungle, the enemy jungle, the crabs....
But yeah, even if bot lane goes down and it becomes an ARAM (Like so many games these days do), I still manage to get more farm than almost everyone on the map. Just gotta watch the waves, and get to them first.
There's also the jungle, the enemy jungle, the crabs....
Just because someone is stealing my farm doesn't mean I should steal my junglers... Also I rarely invade as a mid laner due to lack of mobility and vision, it's a risk I don't like to take... Your outlook on farming seems extremely selfish.
Dude... You're complaining about people farming so much that you can't farm as a mid lane CARRY, and then saying you don't want to farm because its "Selfish."
Are the people taking all the farm being selfish, then?
You need to CARRY. To carry you need items. To get items, you need gold. To get gold you need to farm. If that means you need to be selfish, then I guess you need to be selfish.
I was unaware that there were assignments on CS for specific people past like.... 10-15 minutes, but if that's your thought process - then I am absolutely encouraging you to be "selfish."

You're right, guess that'd just the support main in me talking haha
Roaming is a good way to catch some waves / kills to convert into items. And you can still use your 2 charged wards + control ward and communication from your team to have that map awareness. It's not a risk if you know / predict where the enemy team is.
I take raptors all the time. If the jungler is not there or is showing no intent on taking them, I'll take them for myself. Only thing I won't touch is red buff
If a jungle camp stands there and nobody is farming it, ITS WRONG, ITS WEAK AND IT SHOULD BE FARMED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE FOR BETTER TEAM GOLD.
There is options why jungle is not farmed out by jungler: He is owning enemy team and objectives at the moment, option 2 is that he is simply bad for jungler position.
By having decent farm - farming non stop is a good way how to snowball into diamond, you are always 1 - 2 items ahead of normies.
And no i never said steal, but if a camp standing and nobody is after it, and there is no challenging for objectives, the team together has bad cordination and is losing on that extra gold.
I learned on challenger and esports that decent farm is 100 by 10 minutes, 200 by 20 minutes, and 300 by 30 minutes. At the same time while those people farmed that much they also had quite enough time to roam as well and fight for objectives. So its a good standard to keep myself driving at.
Challenger and pro level farm =/= decent, it equals really good.
Go bot or if youre a champ that can clear mid alone and your team does nothing mid flame your bot lane to go bot again hehe xd
ping your team to do baron so you can catch that sweet bot wave
Clearly you are more than just a genius with Zed
Made my day
Please, my team doesn't react to Baron even when the whole area is lit up like a Christmas tree and the enemy team is in the middle of doing it.
go to their lane, and if they do that trash where they push bot lane and go mid and push that, tell them it, and if they fail to listen, just give your lp, bot laners and junglers are the most clueless players in league oflegends by far, they have no idea what to do, how to lane, how to play outside of lane. I would reccomdend going to korea, getting an id, then transferring your league account their where players actually have fingers and at least half of a brain.
Steal raptors all early game.

I just move to a sidelane and farm up there. Hell, if they think they think they can handicap me they're wrong.
Spam ping the fuck out of them.
I usually swap to bot if my bot lane comes mid to match their bot lane. I only stick around if it looks like the other team is trying to 4-man mid down. I take teleport a lot though, so it's not a big deal for me to rejoin the team even if I'm pushing out bot.
If they're taking all of it then that means they can waveclear. Go push a different lane. Don't forget to clear jg when switching lanes.
you go to another lane................. its that simple. you aren't glued to mid like a slave on plantation ;) you go farm elsewhere, just like the european adventurers which discovered new land
That's the struggle my friend, especially in sub-Gold where the entire game is such a clusterfuck, teamfights sometimes start at 7 minutes or earlier. You just move around to another lane? Your team says you're trolling / not helping? They're wrong; you deserve and NEED 15 minutes of farm time, at least, to get at least 100 CS and get some gold under your belt.
My best games are ones where my lane is open for 20 minutes and it's just me and the enemy.
Your CS is your gold income and most Mid Laners need items to be useful throughout the game. Prioritize pushing your wave then look for ganks. Obviously if your team is at baron you may want to head over there. However, do not be bullied around by your team. If you need just one more wave for your Zhonya's it is better to get that gold, back, get that item, and then fight. Rather than dying in a team fight and then having to go out of base to grab 2 minions and head back to buy the Zhonya's. You've wasted more time, given the enemies more gold, and more map control.
Buy
to get more money to compensate, it's actually a really solid item itself too.
take cs from any lane. You are not locked to midlane minions post laning phase, just as other roles are not locked to bot lane or top lane.
These are some things you can do: Farm side waves near the current most important objective, take jungle camps, and splitpush(best on duelists).
Keep in mind that farming like a pro player will not always be possible below high diamond, since your team will randomly aram and not manipulate the waves properly. You want to focus most on farming in the laning phase, from there focus on the objectives. People will randomly get caught, so you can't always reliably farm away from your team. If the teams are about to fight or circling around an objective, you have to be there even if you lose some farm.
Map rotations are key. Make sure you're the first one to the side lane to catch that large creep wave before it crashes into turret. Ignore flamers, if you are starved you won't be useful to anyone. I hit the mute button if they start to annoy me. Try to rotate a little ahead of everyone, that is one of the nice things about being a midlaner, it's a point that kind of allows you to easily pivot around the map. Just don't spend too long in the side lanes or you'll miss the fights, unless you REALLY think it's more worth it to keep splitting and try to take a side lane turret. Also, take raptors if you are using a champion that can easily do so without taking too much damage. Drop a deep ward and take enemy raptors if you can.
Alternatively, you could just stay mid and push with your bot lane until you take turret. The sooner you do that the sooner they will probably get out of your hair.
Try taking more jungle camps during laning phase...i love taking raptors, espacially the enemy´s, but if u cant do that then take ur jungler´s raptors but just if he has other camps to take. For example, if he takes his red and is going to take his blue next and wolves + gromp is up, then take his raptors. I mean he is taking 4 camps and has doublebuff which means hes probably trying to gank somewhere soon anyway and in the meantime raptors will be up soon again. Acually not taking jungle camps means less teamgold because taking a jungle camp at the right time means getting free gold because ur jungler would have done this camp later anyway. I recommand u to watch high-elo streamer who main mid, just pay attention to what camps they take and when :)
I improvise and take gold off whatever is in sight. [sg-syndra]
Simple, take over a side lane and rotate better than your team.
ADC comes mid? I go bot unless pushing objectives.
Same goes for any lane when another role starts farming your original position after lane phase ends.
Finally an actual gameplay post
How you get CS as a mid laner depends. You need a lot of map awareness and carefully roam to never group up with your team unless there is a need for you to be there specifically
Top TPs bot and your champ is bad at roaming for ganks? Shove and rotate top for the juicy wave the enemy is building up.
Bot is going mid and refuses to return bot? Well now mid lane is their problem!
Jungler taxing your lane mid game (okay he's shoving but still) and another lane is rotating mid to take the tower? Mid is a short lane, you're likely not going to do much but auto the tower. Use a single rotation of abilities on the wave to help shove, head to the unattended lane taking camps on the way there, then shove that lane too so your team can possibly rotate after taking mid tower, or to defend against split pushing.
Or you can give up your CS to the ADC but in exchange you'll be present for more teamfights.
You kind of have to pick in solo queue
You don't. Don't even worry about it anyway, taking objectives and getting kills is what it's all about mid game. Take CS wherever you can but usually most people don't mind letting the ADC farm literally everything when you're grouped.
usually i take jg farm or go to bot/top and take the big ass waves pushing into tier 2 turret. If they ping me I just say, if you want me to stop taking your farm then stop taking mine. They usually stop pinging me after that, but they still take the farm because in their heads they be like.....shit hes right but im too stubborn to admitted it. However, when team fights are usually going down group win or go even in fight, push lanes get farm.
But then again im a
main so even pushing my regular waves even against super minion waves is super easy.
I've accepted that my cs sucks due to bot grouping early but I'm ok with them taking everything if they follow up on me using my mana for an engage or whatever. As long as we get something done mid I'm cool, if we go 5+ mins of just the adc soaking exp and gold mid then I usually say I'm going bot or whatever since nothing is happening.
Usually I spam the retreat ping so they can get the message. There's no way in hell they will listen to you in chat anyway. If that doesn't work, I go bot lane.
If its a good tactic I'll and ask a certain player to come to x lane with me for a split push. I also watch the mini map to see where the enemy minions are pushing hardest and take care of a group that's right at the tower and then push out to the river before joining the team again. Get's me that sweet cs and stops the minions from taking our tower alone.
I counter-jungle of course. The enemy jungler basically never gets the chance to do his raptors because those are mine. When I want to risk it, I take his wolves too.
Not only does counter-jungling keep my farm up, it also helps my team by putting the enemy jungler behind.
Typically what I find is that ADC's that lose bottom will go mid and start farming my minions because they have safety of having 3 people + tower in a lane but the last hit advantage over everyone else.
So, one way you can try and discourage that is to ward your lane like crazy and then push out and take non buffing jungle camps while your lane is getting pushed back so that your other lanes have no incentive to come to your lane and farm under your tower. Usually the enemy laner has pushed back as well and you've lost maybe a minion or two but gained a jungle camp in exp which is totally worth a minion or two.
Well at that point this is the rule of thumb: Every laner occupies 1 lane , if the adc comes mid and takes all the farm , you own the botlane now and its your job to manage the wave.U can swap back or do other swaps but only after u managed botwave , not earlier. Thats how high elo swaps work , i don't think any player in lower elos understand this and they will probably ping u as hard as possible once they see u going to their lanes even if they murdered all ur cs. Ignore them and explain macro.
