why cant i get close enough to deal dmg

sounds to me like you need to practice kiting and orbwalking. the only way you could fall over like you say you do is if you stand still and auto. you have to constantly move back and side to side as an ADC so u dont get hit by skillshots or by their front line

thats what I do. Sometimes. I even use attack move. But for instance, last game the ap rumble would jsut walk past fiora and harpoon ult me and i was dead. Or I stunned riven when she was fighting fiora, and she just dashed past fiora and killed me. then killed fiora. Or tahm would just tounge lash me and i would loose 25% of my hp and then rumble would kill me or maybe tahm would just do it by himself.

None of that should ever really happen if you're standing behind your team / with your team.

If someone trys to just "walk up" to you, they should get cc'd and shredded by your team. (assuming they arent fed). This tells me either A) you have pretty much no peel in these situations from your team, or B) you aren't in a position that your team CAN peel for you.
