For bruisers to be viable their new keystone needs to be a good anti tank option

Something like a stacking %pen buff on auto attack (like a fervor but instead of giving AD, it gives arpen).

Would be very good for bruisers, while not being completely obnoxious to play against as a squishy.

Bruisers lost fervor and 7% total pen with the runes changes and tanks gained even more damage, something has got to give.

And what is stopping marksmen from using this?

And what is stopping marksmen from using this?

Melee attacks stack twice as fast, you know like fervor.

Both can use it if they want.

I am kinda worried about this getting out of hand since fighters are already in a rough spot. This might easily backfire agaisnt the ones it is intended to help since making black cleaver int oa keystone might well be worth taking on high attack speed marksmen which in turn could make any armor a fighter does have even more worthless.

It really needs to be something not effective for marksmen because it is based on something marksmen don't tend to get like bonus health.

In this Atma's still stands as the perfect example of a melee item that was not limited to melee only.

Example of a keystone that could work like this would be "base attacks and the initial damage on abilities against champions increase base AD by 1% + ( .1% for every 50 bonus health stacking up to 10 times for 7 seconds. So a 500 bonus health fighter would have up to a 20% increase in their base AD. IF they had say 1550 bonus health from say a trinity, SV, Omen and Titanic/Sterak's that would be 10% + 41% increase in base damage.

That is using 2 stats that marksmen do not tend to have to provide a power boost for fighters.

This would help both dive fighters and juggernauts given that they do tend to have fairly high base AD. Examples being Jax with 70 – 127.3, Irelia with 70 – 126.1, Illaoi with 68 – 153 and Darius with 64 – 149.

Compare that to Caitlyn's 62 – 99.1, Ezreal's 62 – 99.1, Vayne's 62 – 99.1 or Lucian's 65 – 106 and you can see how somethign liek this would be all around fare more beneficial for melee in general.

The fighters doing the worse right now are the ones that scale with bonus ad or total ad ratios, like renekton/darius/etc so that would not help, trinity bruisers arent doing as bad as those.

Also all of that gets countered by armor/tanks, which again are the biggest rocks in the way of bruisers.

With fervor they could pressure and maybe even snowball on tanks early game, so they need a new keystone that does exactly that, so you cant just pick any tank top lane and rush tabi to completely invalide a bruiser for the rest of the game.

That seems to in part be due to a lack of options to force tanks to build something other than armor in most cases. Bramble vest is still really good at making many melee ineffective in trades.

They really should make it an active with something like a 60 second cooldown for the grievous wounds lowered to 45 seconds for Thornmail

Doesn't really help Juggernauts, though I can see why some Divers and many Skirmishers would want it. Just can't make it too strong, or it will harm Juggernauts more than it will harm Tanks.
