I'm going to laugh really hard when the same thing that happened to Ahri happens to Veigar

Changing how Q works even with massive nerfs in other places is going to shoot up his Winrate just like it did with Ahri even though people were crying about the "ahri nerfs" for days then all of a sudden HUGE winrate spikes on patch day. Thats usually pretty rare to happen, but its always Mages that experience that shit for some reason.

**Veigar mains saw his E as Instant Stun with a bonus afterwards. Now its actually what it should have been, something you have to time and position correctly, and they are all calling "mega nerf! wow riot" ** Srsly people

E delay will cause psychological effects and will require actual timing rather than perfected landing.

Q skillshot and range increase allows Veigar to actually farm in bad matchups and allows him a lot more room to poke and trade better in general, something he honestly struggles with.

These two changes alone will honestly have a huge impact on his playrate and winrate, so try to understand oh so upset forums/boards that this is why Riot is skeptical.

I don't think it will, and I think the reason is that mobility is king in this game. Ahri got more mobility, while Veigar is loosing his anti-mobility tool and not gaining any mobility.

I'd be very happy to be proven wrong though.

I doubt its going to be a huge winrate increase like Ahri's, but the playrate increase alone with a more forgiving and less binary Q is enough to justify nerfing his E.

I understand why Riot is skeptical and cautious of the effects of this change. Veigar has to commit less and can basically poke and farm from afar, which is the main reason why all of her matchups were so fucking hard.

The delay might also be interesting, I wouldnt be surprised if it has an added psychological effect that fucks people up compared to just an instant stun on live that you can't even react positively or negatively to.

... More players with a harder kit usually means a winrate drop, not rise.

Yes, more people will play Veigar after the change out of a morbid curiosity to see just how bad the changes are. If the Q change helps his farming enough, then it might stay stable, but I think we're going to see a Veigar with an even more binary play style of "I hit them with Q, then R, and I ignore my other spells because they just waste mana".

Q change makes him much easier to play E change makes him slightly harder to play

Lining up the two low health minions before firing a skillshot through both of them is most likely not going to be easier than just targeting a single minion. Having an ability that can miss your intended target is not going to make it easier to damage them.

You can argue it will be more beneficial in the long run, to which I say "quite possibly", but it is not going to be easier.

E changes will make it significantly easier for his enemies to play against him. You will not be able to stun the assassin jumping in your face. You will not be able to land a Dark Matter on an enemy because they won't be stunned, merely contained.

Veigar doesnt have a tripple dash and scaling truedamage. Big difference.
