Let's see A huge lane bully that scales incredibly well? You understand LB stopped being played because Azir can beat her and outscale her

TheRakkun1 votes

No it's because her W speed was nerfed and she became rather clunky to play as (That's pretty bad design)

Maybe it's not that Azir is too strong, it's that others are too weak atm, azir has had no buffs recently but a tonne of favored midlaners have been nerfed (Zed, Kat, Leblanc) and as such he's one of the only good midlaners atm since his main counters have been nerfed.

Too many are weak? Makes no sense If x champion is too strong, you need it, you don't buff the other 15 lol.

TheRakkun1 votes

I'm saying it's come around not because Azir was made to be strong, but instead because other midlaners that rivaled him were nerfed hard or fell out of the meta (Assassins who were either all nerfed or simply died off due to tanks).

Well yea, they nerfed some champs and certain items got buffed. Now he too strong.

He needs to be nerfed. We have don't this before A lane bully who scales insanely into late game is never a good thig

And they're removing his lanebully potential, the problem is they're completely gutting him by removing his knockup, why can't they just remove the shield, it's not like it actually makes any difference to him anyway, it's not even noticeable.

If there is no difference why do you care

The knock up is huge, it less his do 2x AA before retaliation begins

TheRakkun1 votes

He needs the knockup so he can outplay, it's like removing Zed's shadows, his shield provides him no use, giving him the shield and not the knockup is in practice still the same nerf as before and if it means a decrease in it's damage i'm fine with it.

Anyway it's not like he's going to AA after knockup, it's mostly used to ult enemies safely.

If you want to remove the knockup you might aswell remove Azir because without it goodbye outplay, goodbye playmaking, goodbye shurima shuffle, goodbye being able to outplay assassins that jump on you, goodbye being a teamfight mage GOODBYE AZIR.

My Waifu Vanilla1 votes

Lol outplay? That knock up has Malzahar ult levels of lack of counterplay since you will just knock them up and kill them before they hit the ground because your damage is off the charts.

TheRakkun1 votes

Ehem, to use it you have to W to place a soldier Q to move it behind them E into them

Keep in mind unless your in melee range you're not going to be hit by him because his Q is dodgeable.

The article focuses too much on winrate and not enough on pick/ban. Pick/ban rates have always correlated better with hero strength than winrate and should be the first and last stat looked at when balancing the game. Low pickrate champions can often carry a high winrate because they are only picked into very favorable situations. High pick/ban champions, on the other hand, are picked into far more unfavorable situations which artificially depresses their winrates.

Meanwhile there are 6+ champions with higher pick/bans and significantly higher win rates. Stop posting your bullshit, you've already been proven wrong.

When you posted the article I thought you wanted a debate about him but apparently it's just "fuck off leave Azir alone" then.

List the champions with higher pick/bans, perhaps?

Sigh, you're right and that's coming from an Azir main, but these PBE nerfs are way to far, they should remove the shield and lower Q damage but for gods sake keep the Passive and knockup he NEEDS it.

Sire Hippington1 votes

well, the passive is kinda moved to his W, which gives up to 50% as on PBE(same as his passive does now) It prettymuch makes him more free in his item choice and reduces his snowballing potential as he doesn't hyperscale with cdr items anymore.

i agree on the knockup, getting some reward for agressive moves is important, and without the shield it would be far more risky.

Still, his overall damageoutput from save range is far over the top imo, it's like a kalye with twitch-ult...

TheRakkun1 votes

Thing is if they make him more of a sustained damage dealer he'll be less overbearing, but I have to say there are a lot of long ranged damage dealers midlane Lux Viktor Xerath Ziggs

Viktor is not long range His QWR are 500-550 his e starts at 550 range too

Xerath q start at 0 range. Xerath meele confirmed

Sire Hippington1 votes

non of them has nearly the same escape potential, nor the engage threat of a shurima shuffel, nor even close to the same sustained damage output. They have some other strenghts, but nin off them is as opresive to face as an wellplayed Azir. Unless you run a dedicated 'crush Azir' combo, he will be even harser to catch than ezrealy while putting down massive damage and providing the most powefull zone-controll tool mankind hs ever seen with emperors devide. I'd prefer Azir loosing a huge bit of burst while maintaining dps, just reduce Q,W and R damage a bit, but increase his base AS and the passive AS gain.

TheRakkun1 votes

I'd say Ziggs has a lot of escape potential, a slow, a self knockback which affects enemies, and the others have burst rather than sustain, all of them can nuke a target (So can Azir but he shouldn't be able to is my point) and Azir's E is a really horrible escape since it takes time to place a soldier, dash it to a location safe enough then E, by the time you do that an enemy can flank you to block you so it's only usage really is to shurima shuffle.

All I want is Knockup stay Ult stay Burst nerfed Sustain damage buffed. shield can be removed.

My Waifu Vanilla1 votes

"Sustained damage dealer" when at 25 minutes with 2 items plus boots he can Q and get two autos on an adc and kill them or make them leave the fight is sad. That and he can burst tanks late game as well. His scalings are just sooo high and there is no compensation for his excellent mid/late game.

TheRakkun1 votes

IRRELEVANT PROBLEM: HIS Q DOES TO MUCH DMAGE

MY POINT WAS TO LOWER HIS Q DAMAGE TO MAKE HIM MORE OF A SUSTAINED DAMAGE DEALER

READ THE POST

Knight SoIaire 1 votes

the problem isnt that azir is too powerfull ... since he isnt the problem is that his nerfs made him into something that he should be and they make him feel more opressive than he should be

first things first azir is meant to be late game but his undertuned numbers made him also a lane bully who is too opressive like you notice

riot instead of fixing the problem just ballanced the outcome nerfing his late game accordingly to his owerall power

thats basicaly most of his problems right now this change allows azir to opress his enemies before late game comes whic hmakes it feel like the bird is a simple bastard

WalkingInACircle3 votes

But muh lane bully hyper carry.

TheRakkun2 votes

Yes he is a lane bully, he shouldn't be, but i've posted many a topic on how to fix that but everyone downvotes me, but Azir does NOT need "Nerfs" he needs to be tweaked so his power lies less in his Q and more in his W E and R, Q shouldn't have so much damage in the first place so i agree with where they were going with the Q damage nerf (Before they fucking reverted it! You do one thing right riot ONE THING and you undo it)

My Waifu Vanilla1 votes

The problem with Q is not the damage it does but the fact it slows for 60% which gives time for atleast 2 autos which will kick anyone out of lane without reproccusion. If you try to jump on him in this scenario he can still E to knock you up since his soldiers will now be behind you or just ult you away.

TheRakkun1 votes

his Q is dodgeable and it's only a 25% slow unless he has multiple soldiers out in which you should be expecting some kind of poke so you should try and bait out his Q so he wastes mana because Azir is quite mana hungry.

Mirage Seraph2 votes

Do I want Shurma Bird to be nerfed? No. Can I accept it? Yeah, he's tied with Naut for my favorite champ right now. Even if they nerf him I'll keep playing him. Do I think these nerfs are the right way to go..? Not at all, at least not the current iteration. I just wish they'd rebalance his Q to be a repositioning tool instead of a damage nuke and slow, and then tweak his dps from there, and remove the shield from his E as it really doesn't serve much purpose.

I do like the current removal of his passive and putting in onto his W though! Makes 40% CDR by 10 minutes less of an issue for me.

TheRakkun1 votes

I'm fine with removing the shield from his E, makes him more risk based if he uses it, but removing the CC from it removes any reward you get for using it and makes it the worst escape in the game. I mean compare Azir to other AP midlaners in how they secure kills

Lux Long-ranged ult that does a lot of damage and is instant and root perfect for finishing low health fleeing enemies Xerath Stun that scales in duration with distance traveled along with long range Q that can catch fleeing enemies and is instant along with an ult that allows him 3 potshots at a fleeing enemy at a huge range Ziggs Huge range AoE nuke for an ultimate. Orianna Has a knockback that does quite a hefty amount of damage and can be easily chained Azir Medium-long range Q that is fairly easy to dodge at long range, fairly small slow unless you happen to have multiple soldiers out and the only way of stopping an escaping enemy is to get into melee range and ult.

Intimidator1 votes

Only nerf Azir needs is that his ult wall only knock backs one dash per champion instead of every one.

That way champions like Akali Diana Khazix Leblanc Rengar can perhaps try and reach him

Lol His problem is laning He bullies champions who have strong early game and weak late game. Yet Azir himsef will outacale them as well. He is a hyper carry late game that is amazing at zoning in most scenarios.

If much rather they nerf his q to the point that it has no dmg but give a huge cd. Most Azir players now know how to bully with the Q and one AA in lane now. It's nearly impossible for immobile champs not to get hit byQ and 1-2Aa
