@Balance Team - Concerning Nidalee (Update)

So I made a post about three weeks ago voicing my concerns over Nidalee's current condition in the jungle. I explained how I thought Nidalee would be in need of a nerf in the coming weeks and suggested they targeted her AP items, runes or ratios before looking at her base numbers in order to preserve the enjoyment of Nidalee players that play her in the jungle as AD. To my confusion, the general response from the community on this post was that Nidalee needed buffs, not nerfs.

OP.GG recently released a Champion Rankings/Tier List for champions in different roles and Nidalee has been in comfortable first place in Jungle since 8.3. Her Ranking has been fluctuating between '1' and 'OP' over the past few days. http://www.op.gg/champion/statistics

I'm hoping that the balance team takes my request into consideration when Nidalee is inevitably adjusted.

Thank you again for your time, Faithful Nidalee Player

She's a harder champ to play than the norm. If you pick Shyvana with low experience compared to picking Nidalee, the only thing you have to worry about is your first clear and nothing else. Nidalee has been out for quite some time and been a favorite pick for a bunch of higher elo players. We've even had a notorious bruiser Nidalee build used by a Challenger player and it worked. The normal player experience with that build didn't necessarily have the same turnout.

Think the issue is more that she has not as much competition in solo queue in terms of preference on the pick, and I don't think it's correct to just move people off of a champion they're succeeding with when it takes a lot of work for that champion to succeed.

Take her winrate from 0-25 minutes from that very site and it says she's 4th. This is her strong point in the game, and the current meta has faster ends to games. As time stretches, Nidalee's winrate drops accordingly. You could easily debate that right now due to the effects snowballing has on the game that she deserves some nerf to her Q scaling, but is it really as necessitated as champions like Gangplank who is a harder to play champion that is hard to contest in the lane phase, his weakest phase in the game? I personally do not believe nerfing her is the right direction for the jungle right now. Things like Xin Zhao literally eat her alive when played correctly on the counterganks.

I think the main reason why perception is so different is because Nidalee has a fairly unique and difficult clear relative to most other junglers. From my own experience, as a jungler main of several years and uncertain skill level, on my first test run of Nidalee in practice tool I faceplanted and died to blue buff. Even after a few more runs, her early clear still felt quite a bit more painful compared to that of the junglers I was used to playing. It is therefore likely that those asking for buffs are likely referring to either her early clear or her laning (she doesn't really lane anymore), without giving as much consideration to just how strong her ganks can be thanks to her burst. I also agree that her AD playstyle feels fine at the moment, so I agree that targeting her early burst and AP power spikes could help bring her down to a more reasonable level. Overall, I still think Nidalee should retain a profile where her clear hurts her more than average, but where she makes up for it with deadlier ganks, but even within those guidelines I think there's still room to tone down her early burst by some small amount.

She needs buffs so she can lane again. She needs some reverts for her to be viable as ad top again.
