"Solo Queue isn't coming back," - Riot.

Bulllllshit just watch as the negative feedback becomes so bad you have no choice but to give us Solo Queue with the new champ select.

WE WANT SOLO QUEUE!

iainB853 votes

Up the anti another notch and just stop playing. I have.

Loss of players is going to get their attention far more than people complaining. They are used to people complaining. Complaining players who are still addicted to the game is just fine for them.

Sweetiex22 votes

Good people apologize for their mistakes and try to fix them.

Shitty people never admit to screwing up and try to shift the blame on others.

^ For example: "People wanted to play with their friends. So we made dynamic Q. It's your fault."

Voidrey3 votes

well, they admitted to dynamic queue having a lot of problems. they might have said we wanted to play with friends (and I know some people who did) but they are doing something. at a slow rate and being somewhat quiet about it, but ill take it

Eevee In A Jar5 votes

So the trade off for DQ is the ability to get what role you want and doing premades. But otherwise all it does is adds dozens of problems to an already existing myriads of issues that you didn't get rid of even after removing Solo Q.

For the last freakin time:

DYNAMIC QUEUE AND THE **NEW CHAMP SELECT **ARE COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT SYSTEMS. THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH EACH OTHER OTHER THAN BEING INTRODUCED TO THE COMMUNITY AT THE SAME TIME.

Karn Bishop2 votes

And their solution to that should have been to improve upon and evolve ranked 5's to make it easier to find extra members like a raid search feature for the mode along with other fixes, unfortunately they were so busy polishing Lytes spear that they failed to even consider doing that, followed by Lyte quitting the moment the system was finished and all i have to say is if the man who made it does not feel confident enough to stay then we have a problem.

franticFurball6 votes

well, they admitted to dynamic queue having a lot of problems

That's like admitting "gravity exists".

We told them MONTHS ago what would happen, even before season 6 started. And EVERY. SINGLE. THING. we predicted bcame reality.

they are doing something. at a slow rate and being somewhat quiet about it, but ill take it

Suuuuuuure. I mean, yes, they promised us soloQ, stayed silent on the topic, and then scrapped it.

But suuuuuuuuuuure, they are totally "doing something", yes, I totally believe that, because I completely trust them after that stunt.

[zombie-brand-facepalm]

Well they are doing something. For diamond+. That's it. Everyone slightly below have to embrace the glorious cholera DynQ

What kind of made me sad was that dynamic queue made it extremely hard to climb until I started grouping as 4 man premades. And.... oh... in 3 days I bump from g5 to p3. Ty rito... for giving me a new stage of cancer.

GayFluffyUnicorn1 votes

Well i'm sitting here in high plat. Bouncing back and forth between p3-1. Look at my last games, there a legit people like this olaf who didn't place ONE WARD. NOT EVEN ONCE. 3 games lost, where it was always me dealing the most dmg, warding, trying to win the game with players who obviously should never be in this elo. I know i'm not perfect, i know exactly what i did wrong in those games. Like lissandra tp ganking lanes, i didn't punish it as hard as i should have for example but those games wouldn't have gone so horribly wrong if those players would know what they were doing... I know what u mean in gold 1 i met a good team, we were 5 solos. We then ranked up as 5s and we won 12 games in a row. Because we never faced a 5 men premade team. I was always looking up our enemies, maximum was a 3 men premade team and this is considered fair?

Neeko N Dime2 votes

tbh soloqueue was the true test of skill, knowing you knew how to win, carry, and be a teamplayer

GayFluffyUnicorn2 votes

Yep. I already reached plat 4 last season and dropped back to gold then i stopped playing. But in this short time i actually felt like this elo is crazy good and every game was very close. This season in plat 2-1 i maybe had a handful of close and skilled games. Most games are your typical silver-gold clownfiesta

franticFurball3 votes

Yeah, and how did that work out...hmmm...lets hear the opinion of a player who has not only been Diamond, but above for serveral seasons now:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-sPNcwEcYE

Whatever they did, it obviously didn't work. On any ELO.

RIOT Cactopus gave some really straight forward candid responses in the RIOTPLS post. You may not agree, but I think we can all appreciate a Rioter addressing the situation head on instead of dancing around it.

The primary reason people are complaining is because they think premades have an unfair advantage if they're on voice chat. And they probably do, although the advantage is slight. IMHO the solution isn't to keep people from playing with their friends (aka trading Dynamic Queue for Solo Queue). It's to give solo players more communication tools so the advantage premades might have is minimized or eliminated. That means we're sure as shit gonna have to make ship some new features

No disrespect SnugglePuggle94, but like we're pretty much moving past the "most people don't like it" argument at this point. It's just not true—it's a small but vocal (and very passionate) minority that's super upset about dynamic queue. Lots of people always wanted the ability to play ranked with more than one friend, and lots of people are fine with DQ now. The upset vocal minority has some very legitimate complaints about dynamic queue, so we're gonna bust our asses to try to address those criticisms and make ranked better for everyone. That means new features, more communication tools, better matchmaking tuning, and on. That's where we're going now. Again, this isn't to say that we're ignoring the criticisms of dynamic queue. We hear you. And we're gonna get creative to make things better for all players. Hold my hand SnugglePuggle94. Together we're gonna go on a magical journey

Karn Bishop3 votes

A: they do have an advantage B: premades negate communication vs everyone not in their premade. C: normals exists for friend play for a reason. D: a mode that can never have a level playing field will never be competitive.

Asyde1 votes

Obviously you hear what he said. He never said they didn't have an advantage, in-fact he specifically said they did (even if slight), and he agreed that is because they have better communication.

So instead of getting rid of pre-mades, they are improving communication.

Karn Bishop2 votes

Riot also said they were against boosting, that ranked solo was coming, ect ect, in short i no longer believe or trust what riot has to say because they do not follow though on what they say they go the direction they really wish to go while saying something else.

Most importantly B and D are the major issues either of these ruin the competitive environment and games just are not challenging anymore for me, i get bored because either i win with a crushing victory or loss simply because dynamic cannot properly balance skill levels of each player in a dynamic queue.

Uh huh.

Just like they "addressed the situation head on" with the PROMISED return of soloQ?

There is a thing called TRUST, in a developer customer relationship. Trust has to be earned.

Asyde1 votes

I agree, They should have never promised the return of SoloQue, and they really fucked that up. But after so long of shit communication, and unfulfilled promises, my point was it's at least encouraging to hear a RIOTER talk about the DynamicQue problem in such a candid way.

Does it fix the problems? Nope. Does it restore at least a little trust in them ? For me, Definiteily.

I'm not going to hold "BUT YOU PROMISED" over their head anymore, they owned up to it and apologized. As far as I'm concerned, we should let that go... And since they are 100% committed to Dynamic Queue, we need to re-direct the conversation to coming up with ways to make Dynamic Queue work for everyone. I.e. Stop focusing on the past and focus on making the future better you know?

franticFurball2 votes

To me it isn't.

Does it restore at least a little trust in them

For me, it doesn't.

As far as I'm concerned, we should let that go

I disagree.

At this point, my trust in riot is at a stage where nothing they say, promise, hint at, or make a vow to the god emperor of holy Terra himself, will make a difference for me.

Only their actions can. And only if they give back soloQ.

Stop focusing on the past and focus on making the future better you know?

Already did. I play Overwatch. Haven't played League in over a month and stopped buying RP long before that.

Source? I wish to response to this bullshit.

GayFluffyUnicorn2 votes

I wish too but i wouldn't get an answer or banned from the boards for lifetime.

AwesomeChad5 votes

In my 6 years of playing league, I've never been so disappointed in riot than I have this season. Dynamic queue heavily relies on solo queue players to fill in the gaps so premade players can have games but wheres the incentive for solo queue players to play alone? We're basically at the mercy of the system and luck to not have unbalanced premades in our games and not get completely outplayed by their premades. We're slaves to the system yet the system needs us. They know ALOT of solo players will switch over to solo queue if they ever made it an option. So they did a scummy thing: they removed solo queue completely and replaced it with dynamic queue so solo players were not given an option in terms of ranked play.

GayFluffyUnicorn3 votes

I have an option. I will only play on my smurf. And once it's level 30 i will stomp all the noobs in bronze and hopefully make them quit the game. Q times in my actual elo will hopefully rise if more people follow me. There are so few people in plat 2/1 already that i (without even noticing) sometimes played 3games with the same people on two different days. Because i was looking up my op.gg profile and noticed it says i played with premades, i was like: wtf? Looked up the games and i legit played several games with them.

In solo que were you able to que with a friend?

AwesomeChad2 votes

in the previous season, yeah you were able duo with a friend but the system, in my opinion, was much more balanced than it currently is. Riot did a great job managing the old solo queue system because each team was only allowed 1 duo queue and a duo queue doesn't hurt the system as much as having 4-5 man premades and riot allowing multiple premades to exist on a team now. Last season, I'd duo queue occasionally (once every 100 games). Same rate applies this season so far. I have no plans on premading more often because I want to prove to myself that I can climb at least back to diamond 3 despite how messed up the system is.

All I want is for riot to either bring back the old system (which has worked perfectly for me and many other players) OR release a pure solo queue.

Your drastic ploy to get the community to shut up about it by saying that SQ is 'never coming back' isn't going to change that.

Can you espouse a little more on your grievances about DQ? I personally think DQ builds a better gaming community. Do you just play most games by yourself? I find that DQ helps expand the social aspect of the game myself. I just got back into the game after a year because I found solo que frustrating. I also found the lack of in game voice communication frustrating. This is a team based game and communication is key IMO.

I understand aspects of solo que. IMO solo que allows mechanically superior players a distinct advantage. They can take advantage of the lack of communication to outplay people. As with everything in life, teamwork and communication always trumps individual excellence IMO.

Voidrey4 votes

the main problem in general is solo players going against and with premades, who much of the time are toxic, refuse to give roles, and communicate better with each other than anyone else

GayFluffyUnicorn2 votes

So for you it is unfair that someone who is better than u sits in a higher ranked than u? Or that he is able to carry a game on his own? I better call Real Madrid to kick out Ronaldo, it's not good that in a teamgame like football he can take advantage of lesser skilled players. They should higher me because i'm a better teamplayer than him. Duh.

Kill 991 votes

Honestly I couldn't stop laughing at this statement. Your analogy perfectly illustrates why dynamic que is great for the game and absolutely shows your lack of understanding of team sports. Do you think Ronaldo or Messi do it on their own? They shine on their teams due to their individual talents, but it is their chemistry and teamwork that makes them great. Do you think Ronaldo goes end to end on his own to get those goals? No, his teammates set him up due to practice and coordination. Do you think on corner kicks they just kick the ball in the center and hope Ronaldo gets it?

Furthermore if you do want to truly be competitive then dynamic ques just help you out to make it to a stage such as LCS. Do you think they are a bunch of solo que players that never played together?

If you would like to test your skills 1v1, why not do solo que duels like they do in Smite? It is a ludicrous notion to want to ban dq's in a team sport.

Furthermore you could always que with two people in ranked, so the entire notion of "solo" que is a stretch.

GayFluffyUnicorn2 votes

DynQ help out to make it to the LCS?` How did all those solo players make it to the LCS then? oh yeah they got recruited through soloQ. Not DynQ. Assuming 99 is your birth year i'm just telling you i played and understand teamgames longer and more than you will ever be able to. Barca wins and loses with Messi. Same to Real. Especially in the big games. Because their whole tactic is to cater to those two players. Which proves my point btw. One player is enough to decide the whole game, same in LoL. Which YOU were complaining about. Barca currently doesn't revolve around Messi anymore because they bought two other players of his level: Neymar and Suarez.

Kill 992 votes

OMG man. In solo que could you que with one other person? Defeats your argument. Those solo que players that got "recruited" played together as a team in practices before they went into a competitive game.

Futbol is the biggest team sport out there. How do you not understand that those teams have set plays they run. They work together to get Ronaldo or messi open and get them the ball so they can score. The defense has to do their job. The World Cup is a perfect example of this. Ronaldo and Messi consistently fail to win because their skill alone is not good enough. They need teammates at the same caliber.

You focus on the goals scored only. So you clearly don't understand team sports. One player may have enough skills to DECIDE a game. One player CAN NOT carry an entire team even in LOL at the competitive level. Each team member must communicate and do their role.

There is a reason LCS teams have shot callers and team strategies. Its not just one great player doing his thing and carrying the team. Behind the scenes there is a whole lot more going on. If we would have the ability to hear their comms you would understand the concept of a team. That is what DQ is trying to attempt. This is a TEAM game.

Has LoL ever had a true solo que where only 1 person could que for ranked? In the only season I played TWO people were always allowed to que in ranked games. So to reiterate your argument falls short at all levels.

If you really wanted to use a sports analogy, basketball comes the closet to where 1 person can carry an entire team. Even in those instances its very rare. Only 20 player tops had that ability from Wilt, Bill, MJ, Kobe, to Lebron.

King of Mongoose2 votes

It's silly that some kids think that they would want solo queue when they have a superior queue available for them that allows them to have parties and work together as a team with friends to achieve greatness

Eevee In A Jar8 votes

Dynamic QUeue destroyed actual good teamwork. It was a thing of beauty to see a complete team of strangers pulling off LCS quality plays without saying a word to each other. But you're telling me these scrubs who DEPEND on dynamic queue to climb rank and only works with specific people are better teammates... You're right. Sick point.

Karn Bishop2 votes

Do yourself a favor and op.na.gg every dynamic queue dissenter you see then flip though their match history for the past few months they all have something in common which is they either don't play dynamic ranked much or at all outside of earning a border.

GayFluffyUnicorn2 votes

In this case they only come up with a fake account which heavily implies they are hiding something.

Karn Bishop2 votes

I'd like to remind you again that you don't even use that superior queue, you spam normals and arams for 90% of your account history?

you can still have dynamic normals nobodys taking dynamic normals from you, we just want our competitive ranked environment back and would prefer if people who just want a cool looking border but care not at all about the competitive nature of the mode to not dictate how we have fun while you all hop back to normals partying it up n laughing at our misfortune?

King of Mongoose4 votes

That's because they've done absolutely nothing to address the issue. Fancy badges don't solve the Solo Queue problem unless getting that badge gives you access to Solo Queue.

GayFluffyUnicorn2 votes

Those badges will never be introduced. They are already called "badge of shame" for premade players. That would be counterproductive. Especially when you consider how hard riot tries to hide premade players. Changing the API etc. so third party websites can'T track the premades.
