I really like the fact that Veigar is stronger & getting more popular

Not even kidding. It's what Riot wanted. For him to be healthy without an instant stun and be strong, hovering a 53% winrate in MID lane where he was meant to go. They managed to do it somehow. He has a higher winrate than old Veigar with DFG and was less popular.

Don't know why people are saying he'll get nerfed. If he gets nerfed, he becomes very weak as shown earlier this year.

Sincerely, a Veigar main since early season 3

riot has just been giving him buff after buff to ignore his lack of synergy with his kit, in order to forgoe necessary changes, hes still useless in a 1v1 situation and still dependent on his team to accomplish something.

fine riot, you won, veigar is now "balanced 50% + win rate"

let me just pose 1 question, how often do you see a veigar with a KDA above 1.5? (newsflash, its because he cant kill more than 2 people with his kit in a team fight, even when spoon fed cc peel and perfect opportunities for him)

most people are content with him just going 1 for 1, and placing the stun at least once so they can have an easy time around an objective, but that just means hes that much more centralized around placing his stun for the team rather than worrying about dealing damage as a MID laner.

^this... kinda.

but yeah, Veigar is playable - at least, so I wont mind for now.

Considering he has an average KDA of 2.7, pretty often.

He doesn't actually die that often. He's one of the safer mid laners in the game.

It's because these "Veigar mains" are the ones who just picked him up out of the blue and weren't satisfied that he was insta gibbing like he was in previous seasons. I just hope they really don't go through with nerfs nor buffs because the last thing I need is an even smaller pool of viable mages.

and then theres the players who didn't know veigar existed, and complained and raged when they got insta gibbed by a veigar main, and so long as he doesn't see veigar in his game, and doesn't get insta gibbed by old veigar, any changes is good and positive in the right direction.

when in reality im not saying veigar should go back to what it was, im just pointing out the serious and major flaws he currently possess which weren't the case with old veigar.

I get that he has flaws, but rarely have I seen a thread that actually addresses these flaws and instead goes into a tangent about "Making his E more reliable." If they really wanted to make him viable, then they'd suggest changes to W, because it's the W that kind of makes it feel like half the time you're only playing with 3 skills. Frankly the delay on E on was great but they didn't seem to account for W's reliance on landing E. If they'd reduce the delay and scaling to something more reasonable he'd be fine. He'd have more or less reliable damage and a great zoning/CC tool.

actually if you cast w before you cast e the w takes up 80% of the space with in the stun cage and you hit almost all the time. the reason i see people always missing is cause they want to make sure the e stuns before they even start casting their w so the w's cast time is really healthy just people dont know how to use it. it only takes a small amount of thinking. and no that wasnt a short joke

The issue is the reduced delay on W is a step in the right direction, but its still completely reliant on his E, which hasn't been changed at all. The increased Ap is very nice, in fact it makes his game plan a lot more healthy as he has no reason to try and KS anymore, but numerical values aren't whats barring him from high level play. What the change has done is allow W to hit targets with Mercury treads that have been hit by the E, but it still hinges on the E hitting. Honestly if they nerfed the ratio and the delay to be on par with other champion's abilities like Brand's pillar, he would become viable again instantly. The issue is that would be a clone ability and Riot likes the uniqueness of the abilities and what makes Veigar's W unique is that it has a high payload but utter reliance on another ability. Remove the reliance and then all his issue go away.

I think his current W is fine honestly. If he got a nerf to his damage, he would be bad. He already had his ult ratio reduced to 1.0.

Explain how lowered damage at a much higher reliability makes him worse (besides against eggplants). Veigar currently rapes idiots who have no spacial awareness, no Veigar main gives a shit about how they do against idiots, they care about how they perform against players on the same skill level as them. I wasn't suggesting a nerf, I was suggesting a trade, as reliability is worth a thousand times more than high numbers on a gamble.

If he ends up getting too powerful, I wouldn't mind them reverting some of the mana cost buffs or making his W 100-300 from 120-320. It would weaken him, but not make him too weak. Just, no more big skill changes until a full rework ok?

I don't like it now. I mean, Veigar getting bonus AP from his Q off of assists really blows everyone else out of the water, since any good teamfight can easily land Veigar a quick 10-15 AP just because he stunned a couple of people, and it creates scenarios where if Veigar was winning, no he wins even more, and Veigars who are losing are magically on-par now. It's very infuriating. You can't let Veigar get ahead because he'll burst any squishy by pressing two buttons, but if you try to kill him in a teamfight and sac yourself for him, he's still going to start snowballing AP simply because you got smacked even the face by either his stun or Q.

It's just, eh. His kit isn't really there. Everything just feels front-loaded into his Q and ult now. His e is cool for zoning, but eh.

i think the recent buffs were huge. i didn't think they mattered that much but I have been getting TONS more AP from teamfights now that I get it from assists too

The W being "faster" also makes his combo surprisingly very smooth

i just hope this doesn't become some fotm where a bunch of sheep start playing him because they heard he was OP or they saw his winrate

Hes pretty much Lux- level- strong, so he will most likely get nerfed :/
