Holy Crap People, Its Only Been A Few Days Since the Patch

Don't forget to Down Vote

Can we please hold off on the complaining? How is it that 5 hours after the patch comes on the Boards is filled with complaints and QQ threads with over 100 upvotes? Now there are literally thousands of posts complaining about one thing or another, most of them are just assumptions and conjecture... like a lot of the time these people haven't even seen or played with/against what they are complaining about but that doesn't stop them from posting 5 threads a day and telling anyone who disagrees that they are an idiot.

For those of you who don't understand or just don't know, i will try to explain it for you. The Season is for Balance changes of various kinds such as Champions, Items, Minions/Monsters, Turrets, etc. New Champions are released, certain Champions or Items are found to be too strong or too weak, there is a bug. These are what the normal patches are like during the Season, nothing too too big because they don't want to mess up Ranked and they don't want to mess up Worlds.

Preseason is the time where big changes are implemented such as the Marksmen Update, all the new items, Jungle changes, Minion changes, Mastery Changes, Support rework, Vision changes, etc. During this time the game is HORRIBLY out of balance, BUT THAT IS OK. Why? Well because all Riot wants to do is get them out there, to cement them into the current League and turn it into something new, to evolve League. Over the course of the Preseason and up to Season start, they will be doing bugfixes, balancing, removing/adding/changing of items and new masteries, changing the jungle to be more balance, Minions and turrets will be fixed, etc. The Preseason is for change. There will be a lot of it, there will be balance and there will be imbalance. Riot is going to address it as they see fit not by what you all complain about. From what i have seen all the hot topics have been addressed by Meddler or another Rioter, they see what we see and they are looking into it. Calm down this is the first patch of many until Season 6 comes around and we all see a much more balanced game. Its only been a few days, not enough time for another patch yet. I imagine the next few patches will be pretty big to fix a lot of the problems we are all worried about.

There, is that better? Is that easy to understand? Can we stop the non-stop complaining and whining? Most of what you guys are saying is invalid anyways... There are really only a few really important things that need to be looked at: Yasuo and Trynd with Warlord's Bloodlust, Yasuo being able to hit 100% crit with 2 items, Towers falling as fast as they do, Various Bugs, and certain AP Champions which are actually not benefiting from any of the changes and are quite hurt by some of them. There might be a bit more that im forgetting but im purposefully leaving out the balance of the Marksmen's such as Graves and Kog, those will be addressed.

Now bring on the Down Votes! For every Down Vote i shall consider my post more of a success.

EDIT: There is a big difference between Feedback and Complaining. If you can't tell the difference than you are most likely complaining.

I think three days worth of gameplay is more than enough time for people to understand that this preseason is horrible.

In case you haven't realized it, feedback is important for Riot, and that's exactly what people are giving them. Feedback.

But you can keep pretending like we're all complaining for no reason and brush aside everyone's complaints.

CatSith3 votes

No, its really not enough time for people to understand it.

Laraso2 votes

I've played like 20 games since the preseason started. Do I have to get mastery rank 5 with every champion before I've finally played enough? Rather, who are you to judge when it's been enough time for people to start complaining?

Stephenizgod3 votes

20 games is not enough, people take weeks to figure out what works, the game will be totally different by then so honestly no one really can judge this preseason yet, specially not so soon. Also its never ok to complain, if you want to give informative, constructive, and helpful feedback im sure Riot would love that, but all these hate QQ whiner threads are not helpful at all and so they are ignored.

Laraso2 votes

I've played over 20 games and every single one of them felt terrible. That's perfectly good enough of a reason for me to dislike the new preseason. You can't possibly argue that I can't have an opinion about that just because you think it's "too soon" to judge. Nobody is arguing that the preseason won't get better or change. What people are complaining about is that, right now, the preseason feels terrible to play, and it's not just a big mixed bag of random complaints, there are lots of common themes such as games being too short or towers being too weak.

You can keep acting like everyone's confused and clueless as to what's going on but it doesn't change anything.

Honestly apologists like you who complain that people don't like the new preseason are more annoying than the people who make the mindless QQ threads that you detest so much.

CatSith2 votes

No one argued you can't have an opinion, We re saying its not enough time for people to jump on the bitchwagon because they dislike the changes. Just because you dislike the patch doesn't make the patch terrible. Like you said You cant possibly argue that we cant have an opinion just because you claim that the patch is "terrible."

There is feedback and there is complaining.

"yasuo is an abomination, nerf him rito, gut him remove this cancer, rito balance team is useless, he killed me an there is no counterplay gg riot good job"

"yasuo should not be able to hit 100% crit with Shiv and Cloak, not only is this bad for gameplay, it also gives him an unfair advantage. With Warlord's Bloodthirst this puts Yasuo far above what he is suppose to be capable of."

One of those is feedback and the other is complaining. Ill leave it up to you to figure out which is which.

BluePolarizer1 votes

you called my thread which did not even contain low value opinions of individual champions being OP, but rather about how balance between different classes and jungle changes have resulted in entire archetypes going extinct, a low quality complaint thread. Yet here you are complaining about complainers, which doesn't even fit the topics of this board, which is gameplay.

Stephenizgod2 votes

First off its the first week, the game is going to be imbalanced, things are going to be buggy, but most of all its going to be changed. People inherently do not like change at first, but then almost always come around to like it in the end. Anything that is posted within 2-3 days of this patch, complaining about the balance and the changes, is indeed a complaint thread. If you were to talk about how certain changes are effecting the game in various unhealthy ways I'd say it is helpful feedback but no, its you dislike the changes and are quitting... Im not going to judge you on that, i really think you should give it another patch or two before you make a decision, but its certainly still a complaint thread.

Even complaining IS a feedback. "geez people are complaining A LOT about graves, yasuo and try... Why is that? Ohhhh we buffed their sustain in lane, added more crit, making their power spike higher... ". Sure, some players will make an argument, but we don't need to tell riot were they missed the spot. They already know it. Well, they should. It is their job. But then again, launch rengar, launch xin zao, broken kaiser, darius....

If something is obviously wrong, it's better to let them know right from the start instead of having everyone stay quiet about the changes.

Stephenizgod2 votes

When did i say to stat quiet? I only ask that you stop complaining not that you stop feedback all-together.

LadyRenly3 votes

If we don't speak up, nothing will change

Stephenizgod2 votes

Agreed and helpful, informative feedback is exactly what Riot needs right now. Notice how i am only asking people to stop complaining and whining?

ComanderMolander2 votes

look I know you have weak game understanding and are a casual

but that doesn't mean that people who know the game better can't make judgements about what is stomping them in 20 mins in normals

if riot doesn't get feedback to ignore how will be complain that the never listen to us?

Stephenizgod3 votes

"omg im doing the same thing over and over again after the patch and its not working?!?! RIOT THESE CHANGES SUCK AND SO DOES ADAPTING MY PLAYSTYLE!! RITO DIE!"

I just decided to quit playing LoL. I just can't get over how utterly useless Kog'Maw is now, and he was my favorite champ. Plus all the AP items are 20% more expensive, because why not? Maybe I'll come back in a year.

Stephenizgod2 votes

Garen was my favorite champ an i dont really like the changes to him and now he is permabanned.

Morde was my second favorite and now he is like my least favorite.

I still play because luckily there are tons of champions i can still learn so thats why these changes mean little to me, but i don't judge you for wanting to quit if that is truly how you feel.

BluePolarizer2 votes

This game no longer feels like the League of Legends I started playing at end of s3. It no longer has the feel of strategy and power to it - and I'm talking about the balance between tankiness, burst and sustained damage. When all 3 feel powerful, when you feel like you can contribute and carry from any position, that's fun. s3, s4 and most of s5 was like that - you could carry as literally any role including support.

Stephenizgod2 votes

Every Season had that "this doesn't feel like League of Legends" feeling, its not until the next season that i realize this game changes a lot but doesn't change very much at all. When i started it was still Solo Top Fighter or Tank, AP mid or Assassin, Support ADC bot, and Jungle. This was the week after Lissandra had been released and she was in the free rotation, she was the very first champion i played (and i only played her Top lol). Anyways basically what you are saying has been said about every season, so id suggest sitting back and waiting a few more patches before judging it completely.

Moriorty2 votes

Did not read all of it, but I understand. Honestly, I'm just happy that the Dev's are being way more creative, and taking risks in this last patch. I want them to do more changes like this that allow them to be even more creative with the game. I think due to the amount of changes, its going to take people longer to adjust compared to when a new Champion is released. Part of the whole MOBA genre is learning the characters in's and out's, then adapting your playstyle. Keeping things fresh like this patch does, is integral to keep the game fun and alive. I honestly thought the two things under Graves health bar were Cigars, like Riot what the hell you brought it back? lol Graves

I have no problems with real feedback, i even pointed out several things i feel need to be addressed and that i have seen really well informed and neutral posts about. I do not think complaining is helpful, i do not think whining is helpful, i do not think demanding everything is reverted is helpful, i do not think threatening to stop playing is helpful, etc. etc. I am merely asking for the QQing and complaining to stop, it has not been long enough where you can already judge how the rest of the season will be. The community has a tendency to be wrong and overreact without fully understanding the entire situation, I mean they didnt understand Skarner and demanding buffs then he became a huge problem. Riot has already commented on all the issues i put and more, so i dont understand how there can be so many QQ posts still.

Something you are misunderstanding: Complaining does not equal feedback.

Besides i have already seen a change in the preseason, games normally lasting 15-20 minutes are now back up to 30-45 minute games on average. This means people are already figuring out how to play with the new changes, such as not leaving their turret unattended for long periods of times, something that was quite common in the first couple of days.

Feedback is incredibly important more so than ever, but complaining is incredibly hurtful more so than ever. When there are 1000 posts demanding Yasuo is disabled it leaves little room for other more helpful posts about problems that may not be obvious but need fixing. When the boards are filled with people whining about the same things, things that Riot has already stated to be working on, it makes it hard to see other posts.

This is exactly how you solve a lot of the problems... Did people just complain until the jungle was changed back when they did the big overhaul? No, i mean they changed several things but most of the issues were solved by people figuring out new paths, new builds, and new champions...eventually... Once this becomes the norm you guys will all start complaining about the next change and claiming this to be the most balanced season ever and that we shouldn't change it. This is what always happens, i really just want people to see this. I want to read well written and thought out feedback on the preseason, I want to have real conversations with people about these changes. I'm tired of "I quit unless its changed" "games end in 10 mins gj riot" "yasuo is cancer die rito balance team" etc. These are not helpful, they give almost no information and what they do give is incredibly over exaggerated, really biased, or just plain wrong plus most of it is insulting another group of people and if you disagree they start mass insulting you... I know this is just the boards i guess, but id like there to be more serious threads where we can discuss ideas.

uh no im not im focusing on the major issues with the game right now. Yasuo is given an unfair advantage by how well he scales with Warlord's Bloodlust and his ability to hit 100% crit with two items, Turrets a too weak and this is a big change that needs to be tuned soon so the rest of the tuning can be done correctly, certain items scale way too well with certain champions. Why are these big changes? its hard to set the overall tone when you have a skewed view of the game, when certain items are too good and you ignore it for now, you make balance changes that then become a problem later on when you look at the items. Before you can change items you need to figure out exactly how fast a turret should fall, changing items might make them fall too fast or too slow. See? In order to set the overall tone you need to get certain changes in the right place now during the preseason where you can make big changes, before making smaller tunings.

I am not! I am tired of those posts whining and complaining! How is no one understanding there is a difference between feedback and complaints. I really enjoy reading posts that discuss and explain the changes and their opinions on them, i very much dislike the posts who just state a problem and complain about it. That is not helpful in any way shape or form, it is actually a harmful to getting changes made. Riot tends to ignore these threads because the whining of people who lost because of change A is 100% entirely biased and most of the time not even true. There needs to be understanding of the change, what it effects, why it effects it negatively, and how it can be changed to effect it positvely for it to be considered actual helpful feedback. Demanding the changes be reverted or that you are quitting IS NOT FEEDBACK! Its not helpful! The changes WILL NOT BE REVERTED, quit asking for that and start coming up with solutions for how to fix what you feel is wrong.

BluePolarizer1 votes

+1. this. ppl are so used to ADCs being dominant, they don't even realize how dominant they are. They are literally the ONLY required class. The "ADC rework" should've been nerfing or keeping consistent ADCs overall, not buffing them. This is absolutely insane.
