Now that XP to get to 30 has been halved, can we get some requirements to play ranked?

Basically, this guy was spewing really extreme verbal abuse all game in ranked, I was super pissed all game. May have said some things to him I regret while I was trying to defend our bot lane and keep them from tilting as hard as me.

But that's besides the point. Basically, he had 0 mastered champions, and his mastery score was 11. he only had mastery pages for 5 champions.

Can we make it so you need to have a certain mastery score to be able to play ranked? it would both help weed out the extremely toxic players, and it would show you have atleast some game experience. I think 100-150 would be fair.

100-150 seems excessive, but I wouldn't mind some light restriction being implemented beyond the 16-champ requirement.

I've only been 30 for a few weeks, and while I consider myself to be fairly above-curve in terms of typical skill level for somebody as new as me, I'm scared as hell of playing ranked because I feel like I haven't earned my way into that club yet. I'm only good at a small handful of champs, so if they get picked or banned, I'm screwed. Having some further hurdle to get over in order to play ranked might give me a better understanding of when I should actually do so.

Bronze is where all the relatively new players can attempt to play competitively and learn of exactly their strengths and weaknesses, and how they perform compared to others of the same skill level. It's when people play in a competitive situation, is when they can truly learn and adapt. You saying there should be a requirement to for them to learn and play competitively? There is already the requirement of at least owning 16 champions in order to play ranked.

If a person is being toxic in chat, simply ignore it or mute them, so they don't impact your mindset and gameplay, and report them after game is over.

thats not true a new acount is normally playing their series at silver 4-silver 2... and climbing silver and u get those new players it makes it an extrenemy unfair game

Silver is still where majority of players play at (especially mid-low silver), so they may have been doing provisionals, or the system had identified there skill level to be that range, as you mentioned he did have mastery pages for 5 specific champions, and they could've climbed using those champions. Just cause you aren't level 5 with a champion or have many champion points, doesn't mean they're bad at the champion or bad.

100-150 is more than excessive and the whole idea of limiting people past needing at least 16 champions goes flat in many ways.

This limits onetricks which are everywhere and take up a large majority of diamond+ players.

Mastery rank doesn't show anything and is a terrible way to limit people, take time to look at a lot of challenger players, some even have less than 15 champion mastery scores.

Rune and mastery pages aren't necessary, I myself only use a few and I know many others do, so mentioning he only has 5 mastery pages doesn't mean anything.

If anything is ever to be implemented to stop newer players from jumping into ranked, it should just be made more clear to them that it's necessary to have a lot of game experience and knowledge before trying to place on the ladder.

Well, some of those people have self control. Like me! I'm terrible at this game, especially with DynaQ, so I'm waiting until SoloQ comes out again to start playing. This choice both saves me frustration and gives me an eternity and a half to git gud until I start ranking competitively!

Linking Champion Mastery with Ranked is stupid because it effects players differently:

Someone who wants to take his time to actually Master a champion before moving to the next cannot play ranked for YEARS! Someone who uses the free rotation and and plays just a few games with each champ, will never be actually good at a champ but is able to play ranked!?!

Besides that: I agree with CoolMikei127. ^^
