Its so many posts asking that the jungler role automatically get smite as a summoner.

Just make it happen.

I want it for myself when I'm jungler.

Have I been jungling and won a game without smite? YES, many.

Didn't mean I didn't want smite and I was only able to pull it off by taking a support item and going duo top.

You know how much it sucks to be 100% necessary to have to kill the enemy jungler before attempting an epic?

EDIT: I come from a time of smiteless jungler and being forced to change your runes per role. In the current state of League, I can pretty much use the same runes in every match.

After 15+ games of never having to change anything because of this dumbed down rune system, the rare occasion I get secondary or autofilled jungle, I forget smite.

The old rune/mastery system had you adjusting every game, per champ and role. This new system lets you sit back and be unaware and complacent 99% of the time (especially with this whole "adaptive" implementation).

you have the entire declaring, banning, and picking phase, plus an extra 20 seconds, to grab smite.. it's not riots fault you'd rather jerk it in between locking in picks.. seriously, we get around 3 minutes before loading into game, how can junglers not grab it? hell most of your lobby will probably be raging in chat trying to remind you. are you just ignoring it? did you not know you can change your spell before locking in your champ?

Keep in mind if I play top 10 games in a row queuing top/jg and I get jg the 11th game, I might forget to take smite (especially after 5 dodges).

My top/jg are both MonkeyKing . For years I didn't need smite to jungle and the only real difference between roles was the old rune system (taking flat armor seals over scaling) but now I use the exact same runes.

You're aware that with the current state of league, you can play 15+ games and never change your summoner spells or runes?

So on occasion, when I get my secondary role, I don't immediately think to grab Smite.

Agree, auto setting smite when jungle role is selected makes perfect sense.

it could also potentially fix the problem with taliyah and karthus with smite as well. smite iah should be a jungle only exclusive spell. but even then how would the system know you are jungling? say you got autofilled support and the jungler was like yeah i'll trade. how will the system know?

If you're in lane and want to take smite, you still can, but it should be done automatically for the jungler assigned summoner.

As for switching roles, the spell will transfer with the champion trade.

I'm not saying smite should be exclusive to jungler, but mandatory for the jungler.

This wasn't a problem before S5 (I think), when you could go smiteless jungle, especially with Nunu Chogath Warwick Shaco Olaf etc
