Exactly what does Azir lose as a tradeoff for having so much range and burst?

Literally. Watching LCS, and it finally shows off how stupidly overpowering he is. He's oppressive in lane, in fights. You can only dream to touch him unless you want to take heavy punishment from him or his team. He also has his nice little dash that shouldn't belong on a champion with his playstyle. He's an Orianna/Lux with a freakin' escape/gapcloser. Not only that but he has Anivia's Wall in the form of a knock back that causes heavy burst and protects his team mates while also providing them with a speed buff...

Like, seriously. What drawbacks or weaknesses does this champion have? I can't think of ANY.

Yes he is pretty lame. He can hide behind really high damage unkillable heimer turrets basically.

I personally hate fighting that champion.

he's squishy, he's forced to itemize 40% CDR rather than the 25% that most mages stop at, his mana costs and cooldowns in lane are high, he has limited ability to chase targets down and low kill potential even if he can keep up, his passive has a very specific and limited use, his wall doesn't prevent blinks, and he can only dash to his solider meaning he has to choose between damage and escaping.

Azir and Kalista are going to dominate LCS for awhile until they inevitably get nerfed.

The meta midlane assassins counter him, especially Zed (assuming the Zed is any good), and the 2nd tier Midlaners (orianna, xerath, etc.) Can go even with him at range.

The only point you should have major trouble is if you're playing someone squishy and short ranged who loses Midlane already (think vlad), or if you're playing an assassin and you're upset that he's one of the only few you can't guarantee instead death on at 6 anymore.

He has really low Attack Speed, and he's squishy as shit. You can instagibb him constantly early game.

Bullshit.

That is not a weakness specific to azir if every single mage/carry shares the same exact weakness. By the way, cass is squishier than azir. I looked up the lol wiki.

You mean having piss poor Attack Speed early game along with high cooldowns tied to his main source of damage isn't a weakness? Abuse the shit out of it early game, get a jungler gank.

lol when you have to rely on a jungler thats not much of a weakness either.

"1v2 him and hes not that bad" ..k

Having a tad bit slower attack speed early game on autos is that much of a big deal that is a weakness?

Also judging by his lol wiki the only high cooldown move is his dash.

The 1 v 2 isn't because he's "not bad"

The 1 v 2 is to get free kills and oppress the shit out of him.

You don't always 1 v 2 because it's a hard match-up. You can also 1 v 2 just to fuck Azir over and farm him for kills.

Um... theres way more champions in the game that can be farmed by a jungler. In fact; Azir has pets he can use for safe range farming AND he has a mobility dash, AND he has a safety ultimate.

So what in the world are you talking about? Azir is safer, or just as safe than most mages.

You're not exactly winning an argument on the power of a champion when your counter measure to that specific champion is to jungle camp him.

"just jungle camp him" is up there with "just CC him" in terms of lawls for excuses.

It takes a long time for azir to get powerful. He is the quintessential late game champ. He actually doesn't have awesome burst until late game if you get a q with 3 soldiers. The fun thing about him is the sustained damage as it's different from other mages. He also has a very hard time doing damage unless he has a team with high cc as you just walk out if soldier range easily for the majority of the game. Not to say he isn't strong though. I think he is very strong with a good team around him. Not really without it I think
