So very sick of critics that don't even buy wards(show ward count in game client after match)

Valhalla Rising··18 votes·1,607 views

It hurts my entire body and I feel like smashing my face on my keyboard every time some baddie tries to criticize their team but doesn't even buy wards!!!

That is the most important thing in this game yet it's so disgustingly neglected and there desperately needs to be a change, starting with showing the ward count in the after-match review in the game client, without having open up advanced detail-statistics page

It should be included in the grid with the other stuff.

Every time I look at match history of anyone, out of the 8 non supports, it's common to see 6-7 if not all 8 with ZERO WARDS PURCHASED.

Every 2-3 matches there is a random goodie that buys 4-5 stealth wards, which is better then none but still nothing to rave about.

And when I complain 20-30 minutes into that nobody is buying any wards I here this line all the time, "that's supports job"...

Where in the world are they getting this logic from?!?! I swear sightstone is toxic in the way that it encourages baddies to stay bad and use it as an excuse to neglect vision control all together.

At the very least the ward count should be readily available immediately after match for quick assessment of who actually helped with vision control, because many people can not be bothered to open up the webpage, click statistics, and scroll down and review for themselves, while discussing the match in chat at the same time, trying to determine the cause of the loss, struggle, or credit due to those who deserve it.

That is just the least, in addition to that there should be an option to specifically report for lack of vision control, and generally much more focus on vision control awareness and the huge impact is has on the outcome of the game.

LET THERE BE LIGHT!

I average between 15-40 wards purchased/placed per game these days and I'm gold V. I played with a Leblanc mid earlier tonight who after dying twice, flamed our support for not warding mid lane for him. He said and I quote, "I'm not the fucking support that's why I don't buy wards". He went on later to killsteal to the point where he was the only one on our team with kills, but he died 2x as much as he got a kill.

So he was the only one on our team fed but he fed the entire enemy team. He then proceeded to tell us how much we all sucked because he was the only one with kills. I really wish #bronzelogic like that didn't exist.. Common sense makes perfect sense to me, you take all the kills, you basically force your team to rely completely on you. Then when you die, your team has no chance. That's why the Akali's that go 30-2-0 end up losing the game for their team.

There is such a thing as being TOO FED!

I'm bronze :(

theres alot of good players in bronze, just most of them dont ward properly (im not defending bronzies because im one btw, i play against alot of b1 players that kick my shit in, along with the rare plat i get on my team)

I really don't get how players like that get out of bronze.

Not buying wards was main reason of reworking most of stealth champions few seasons ago. Why? Because it was cheaper to cry on forum "nerf Evelynn" than buying oracle or pinkie. Possible solution? Everyone who buys & places wards should get super-slight Ip bonus (something like +3-5ip depending on how many wards he used. Sightstone won't count. Max ip varies from player who bought most wards)

OblongOtter6 votes

"Hey support! Not only do you get less gold in the game, but you get less IP after the game, even if you placed twice as many wards as everyone else combined."

Saianna1 votes

actually with my suggestion supports would get lil more IP than rest :)

SecretAgentHulk4 votes

How? After rushing Sightstone I only buy maybe three or four pinks, so anyone who actually buys wards in a useful fashion will beat that score.

Saianna1 votes

If you consider what wa written by OP, then you'd understand that only supports buy wards/pinks. So you'd most likely have to fight for bonus IP vs enemy support :)

I dared to check your profile and oh boy. oh boy. Exhaust/Ignite half-farming Jarvan support? Surely wards are nice, but there are things beside wards too.

Ok, so... after you get to the end game lobby, you can click "Share Match".

That takes you into the web browser you have on your computer (hopefully not Internet Explorer? >.>), and shows you a TON of information on the game. Among them, is the number of wards placed (it's one of the pie charts... bottom right one I believe.)

If that's not "easy" enough for you, than I'm at a loss for words for how lazy you are... -_-

PRO TIP: You'll likely never see the people you played with again, so there's no point being toxic about them not getting wards in the post game lobby (unless you're in the highest levels of play, in which case you'll likely see them a lot...).

I think youre missing the point home slice. He wants wards placed to be in the after report to put more emphasis on warding. You see kills, and deaths, and assists and when the blame starts getting thrown everybody has these stats, which riot has deemed to put there making them the "most important" by default in most peoples minds, so who died the most is the feeder and the reason you lost...so forget the part where no one warded and died all day to ganks and the feeding was their own fault but we are going to blame the jungler because he has to be omnipresent. I cant even count how many times ive been jungling or just in a game and i see two lanes simultaneously pinging for assistance and whoever the jungler doesnt assist starts bitching about "never getting a gank" and the enemy jungler has been " camping their lane" problem solved by proper warding. Ever wonder what the jungler might do if he too could see the gank coming? counter ganks can only happen if you have your jungle warded numb nuts!!! Who gonna sho up after your dead for another 1v2 scenario? The noob jungler thats gonna die and instantly make your lane a lost cause...ward your vulnerable entry points people..

Moral of the story is to make ward placement more in everybody's face to encourage the behavior.

Ok, first of all I'm not your "home slice". Second, yea, you can see kills deaths and assists... you can also see CS and Gold, people don't go by those for how well they did though, so your point (and his) are rather invalid.

If you wanna go by what is in the graph, you can also see:

  • damage to enemy champions
  • damage dealt
  • both of the above, in Magic AND Physical variations
  • time spent dead
  • healing done
  • and a whole SLEW of other stats that NO ONE EVER LOOKS AT...

In which case, your point, and his... is completely moot. Just because it's there, doesn't mean people will look at it, sounds to me like he just wants to be able to flame people, which is not a good reason to have something implemented... "HOME SLICE".

you cant possibly be this dense... the point is to put warding in the spotlight, instead of somewhere down the line. Why you would want this to stay hidden in the background somewhere is beyond reasoning. The only way my point could possibly be invalidated is if the entire idea behind the vision mechanic were also made null and void. Please get your brain untwisted so you can think properly and form an argument that doesn't hinge on faulty logic born of idiocracy simply because you didnt like being called home slice... i could have called you a number of pejoratives but i chose something less abrasive, so try not to get your thong in a knot anytime somebody calls you something other than Sir...or Ma'amsummoner 13

This is why I love playing with a certain streamer and his Plat friends. We (mostly they but I'm learning) buy wards, and more importantly, everyone uses the wards. There's no worse feeling than having someone die to a gank, when the enemy who killed them walked right through a ward.

im diamond and i dont buy wards

wards are for scrublords who cant play the game and need the crutch

#git gud

Don Shula2 votes

Excuse me but don't you get >10 wards per match by using your... err.... trinket? which has 120>90 sec CD? So they don't use it if ward count is at 0? last time i checked it included trinket uses.

SwiftSwrd2 votes

I pretty much never buy wards. I will get sightstone as support, otherwise I do just fine with my trinket. Check my badges. Bite me.

AbsoluteSadman3 votes

buying wards is a superb skill to learn, i suggest trying it, youd be amazed how much that pink in the river saves your life

Diana x Me2 votes

Agreed wards placed should be a stat in HuD that way people will actually focus on placing wards because it's right in their stupid face and tells them hey you planted one ward. Plant more!

Desmond Law1 votes

Every time i support, i manage to account for at least 30% of ward coverage including enemy team.

SmokingPuffin1 votes

Wards placed is available in the detailed game stats.

That is just the least, in addition to that there should be an option to specifically report for lack of vision control, and generally much more focus on vision control awareness and the huge impact is has on the outcome of the game.

That'd be "unskilled player", the non-disciplinary report. Can't punish for being bad.

Deep wards and the mute button.

The ward game is a lonely game and little appreciated...

As a jungler I ward ALOT, to the point where I feel i should be buying more items so I could carry more... (I guess I watch too much LCS) Especially deep wards, deep wards win games.

Ward on enemy red or blue, or even better at wolves (because it tells you so much; where he came from, where he's going, what buffs he has/hasnt got etc.) has saved alot of games (combined with like, a gazillion pings to the lane he's going to or even better anticipating the gank)

If some nab is criticising just mute, dont argue, even when you're right and you're doing all the right things, just mute, play your game, place the wards that will save him and save your game.

Deep wards and the mute button.

Lord OwlBear1 votes

All of my friends that I play with, I tell them all the time that "wards win games".

What if every time a ward detected an enemy it would give 5g?
