Does anyone else see that Leona chunks just as much as some ADC's, or is it just me?

So, I understand that Thresh is currently the best fucking thing since sliced bread apparently, but has anyone else noticed that Leona has oddly high base damage for a tank? Now granted in the late game a lot of this damage is subsided because everyone has gotten at least some kind of tankiness to them, but she just seems to do a shit ton of damage in the early game. Especially with that ult of her's. I don't know, what do you think?

You must be new here. That's always been Leona's calling card. Play her with a carry that also has burst for the best laning, eg Graves. Note she doesn't play well from behind, however. She's all or nothing and gives little value if she can't initiate effectively.

I'm not "new here" actually, but it only occurred to me a little while ago that her base damage is rather high for a tank. But I'm slow to realize such things.

The whole thing about a tank is good base damage with low scaling.

Tanks tend to have decent base values, but low scaling. Go ahead, look at how well Leona scales with AP.

Besides, adc's tend to have lower damage early game anyway. It's a trade-off for how attack damage scales late, with some exceptions (Graves is bursty, for instance).

Most of Leo's damage actually comes from her passive.
