Twitch's poison should show damage cumulatively

Twitch's passive poison does stacking true damage over time. Like many other DOTs, it's hard to appreciate the damage done over time and see it's true impact, for both Twitch and his opponents. Most other DOTs in the game currently show their damage cumulatively, making the damage number shown higher and higher based on the damage dealt over time. Twitch's poison should also use the cumulative damage system, but doesn't.

Twitch's poison has had satisfaction issues for a long time. Seeing that he's doing 18 true damage at the end of a trade isn't very satisfying and doesn't feel very impactful, while the damage dealt over time in that trade could be 120 true damage. Showing the true damage done getting higher and higher would help address the issues with satisfaction and impact.

Importantly, this is also a clarity concern. Not being able to easily see and understand the impact Twitch's poison has in a trade or fight means that it can be difficult for an opponent to understand where all of Twitch's damage came from, and why their armor isn't doing as much as it would versus other ADCs.

Please, can Twitch's passive poison damage over time use the cumulative damage system like other DOTs?

So should Teemo's.

fully agreed, as should Red Buff's DOT as was pointed out to me on Reddit.

Or challenging smite.

It already does that, that's why you never see it.

If Riot did that players would finally notice how TERRIBLE this passive is..

In short trades and early game definitely. I think seeing hundreds in true damage on multiple champions in long trades or late game could make people realize why Twitch can do so much damage sometimes.

You're right it is SO bad I end games with only like 8000 true damage done. Bad passive amirite?

killd0zer1 votes

That's not much considering it's really spread out.

It's close to if not more than Vayne does in an average game.

However a large portion of Twitch's true damage is dealt to minions while a much less significant portion of Vayne's is. This is for two reasons: 1) Vayne's true damage scales with target health while Twitch's is flat 2) Vayne isn't proccing her third hit on minions very frequently she is either last hitting them or does enough damage to kill them before the proc goes off.

http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2113504593/37630506?tab=stats is an outlier case where I do over 10k true damage (mainly from passive) but out of all my games I am still doing roughly 4k or more which is still a GOOD bit of my champ damage.

while yes twitch does more true damage to minions, online it tells you how much true damage you've done to champions which is what i think he was getting at. His true damage to champions is comparable to vaynes if not more. If you look at overall true damage including minions it would be in the 15k-20k

Good thing preseason opened up Runaans as an option to Twitch AND they made Runaans work with your AA Range. At least now he gets to deal that passive damage x3 without even trying.

To be fair you could just have red buff alot

at lvl 18 ignite deal 410 tdmg over 5 sec while twitch passive deal 216 tdmg over 6 sec.. u need to apply it for almost 12 sec for deal kinda the same dmg

That doesn't account for the noticeable lack of a cooldown on twitch's passive.

So the damage is a lot lower, there's no grievous wounds and it doesn't have a cooldown, but applies on auto attacks and has to stack up.

I'm not saying Twitch passive is bad, because it obviously isn't, I'm just saying it's in no way a "free ignite" it's just not comparable to ignite except that both are true damage DOT's

Lol it does so much more damage than ignite. Over 6 seconds you can deal 216 true damage to one person. Twitch with a Runaan's deals it to half your team. Twitch with a Runaan's and his ultimate on deals it to your entire team. And not only that, but he does it all freaking game. Zero cooldown. Twitch's passive feels like garbage cause seeing a little white 12 pop up every second looks like the enemy is being forced to tank 1 extra caster minion, but it's hidden damage. It's like Amumu's tears, they only feel weak because you're not able to see the scope of the damage they're dealing in a teamfight.

On average 15% of Twitch's total damage output is true damage according to champion.gg, nearly as good as Vayne's 21.5%, and with a higher average damage per game total.

The damage is very good, it's just hard to tell, and the fact that the base numbers are so low and it's still this strong means that even a little buff would severely increase his true damage output overall. The reason it's good isn't because it has high base numbers, it's because he applies it every time you freaking auto attack, and the damage goes through all defense.
