I love the concept behind new Mordekaiser but I fear it's going to feel lackluster
And I hope I'm wrong about this.
But I love the concept of turning Morde into a bruising force that's hard as hell to kill and never goes away. It fits his theme much better, magekaiser was always lame. But my fear of lowering his ratios is that he could basically become ignorable. Morde is going to focus on mostly health, this is what I've theorized how I'll be playing him:
Runes: Flat Health quints Scaling health yellows Magic Pen/hybrid Pen reds Scaling Mr blues
Pretty straight forward, a very health heavy tank page. I'll likely be running 21/9, speccing into AP in the offensive tree and going block + hp regen and juggernaut.
The build id probably run would be Gunblade/Rylais/Liandrys/Sunfire/CDR Boots/Warmogs.
This build is high survivability and incredibly hard to burst. But it's still on a low ranged immobile champion with even weaker ratios, so the damage will feel even weaker in exchange for more durability. The durability increase on Sion for example works because of how fucking disruptive he is, Morde doesn't have that. In my mind, I'd like to see his Q be a bit stronger so he's rewarded for getting in melee range of anything period, not just isolated targets. Perhaps if Morde gets his Q off and the bounces off it increase in damage after each target hit.
I'm excited for the change but I'm not crazy about the idea of hurting his numbers in exchange for lower health costs and some durability. I might like to see damage shifted into other areas of his kit instead of flat out nerfing it.
