Autofill punishes the players who don't dodge

Nothing is more frustrating than suffering through the longer queue times for mid/jg only to get 3 dodges and then be forced into support after 8 minutes by autofill. The players who have the benefit of shorter queue are the ones that should be getting autofilled, not the people who've been waiting around. It creates a perverse incentive to just dodge whenever something doesn't suit you, which lengthens queue for everyone else.

This obvious flaw would actually be funny if it didn't happen all the time

OMG. This isn't even an issue. Just restart the queue after a dodge. Look at my ranked match history. See how many times I played support. I main Top and play that as much as possible and I do get Top 95% of the time.

or maybe they should just get rid of auto fill, or at the very least tweak the system.

you know the saying. dont hate the player, hate the game.

cant blame people for not wanting to be forced into bot lane with a random dude at their side against a practised duo in voice com. the problem is, that matchmaking doesnt match someone auto filled against an auto filled opponent in the same position.

youre not just in your secondary role, but one of your least secure off roles and youre matched against mains in that position.

when youre auto filled into jungle against a 2 million mastery lee sin 1 trick, youd start dodging aswell.

worst part is that on one team sometimes multiple people are auto filled.

They should add an official trade-role feature if autofill is going to stay. This will lead to less dodges as chances are someone out of 4 people is willing to role swap

So here is my question. How does this differ from the previous pick order system where you effectively had to fill most games that you where 4th or 5th pick? Auto fill gives protection after you get dicked by it at the very least. There was much more lobby dodging back in the old solo queue days, I feel its gotten better in that respect.

No it doesn't. It sounds like you are describing an illusion.

What the solution should be is increased delay for dodgers.
