My problem with the support items and incoming nerfs.

I agree they need nerfs, it's not fun at all almost killing someone and then having them healed by their support to full hp in seconds. However, with all those nerfs coming, I really don't see what would you build first on an enchanter support. Ardent is nerfed so it's better in later lvls, redemption is nerfed so the heal is good only if you have multiple heal boosts before building it, athenes is good when you have a lot of mana regen so you get more AP. There's no "go to" item to build first. Anything you build first is just mehh and it will be only good when you build that 2nd-3rd item. I know, I also don't want the "redemption locket" rush every game or "ardent redemption" to become a thing again. I'd just like an item to build that I know it will be good as soon as you get it, just like in every role.

The thing I kind of find funny is that, instead of focusing on improving the strength of the champion itself, Riot is trying to focus the supports into building active items who has a lot of impact. While I dont mind having a lot of active items, this is where it creates balance issues for the support class. They made the active items have too much impact and now, they are trying to balance supports around those items over their own pros and cons.

Then again, I might be wrong on that statement but this is my opinion on the balance of supports atm.

Regarding what first item to buy, I have no clue. As Nami, I usually go for athene, it seems to have enough impact with her and with the bounce, you always get blood points in combat.

Mikaels Crucible should not be getting nerfed without any compensation buffs (lower active cdr, or the active removes surpressions/airbornes/knockups like QSS does) or something. The item is already way worse than all the other support items and has such a higher skill floor to use to. It's a shame that it's getting nerfed the hardest because some silver rioter lose to a Soraka in their gold 5 promos.

I love people that think they're funny but end up looking like dumb dumbs. It's not a problem we have to pick what to rush, it's that we don't have anything to rush, but you can't read so Idk why Im saying this.

AP. Soraka is 300% AP scale Nami is 230% AP. Lulu is 250% AP.

Why are you all building 1 AP item?

Meanwhile I've got 2 Soraka pentas mid lane recently with 2 and 3 items, while trolling, and yet enchanters need buffs...

Nami can literally chain connect her entire 230%...build AP...

AP items are pretty expensive tho

And stop rushing Idol, like seriously, % is a lategame stat. Ideally your heal or shield should be max before you have it. On the other hand, the item 3113 that is core in every enchanter build will instantly buff all of your moves and not just 1. ffs.

i prefer idols for the mana regen and cdr, i usually start my games off as rakan by rushing 2 of them so i can stay in lane as long as i need to, it may not seem like the best strat, but if my adc is ahead, at least a kill or 2 and ahead on farm then i do go for the ardent rush (even tho its weak if ur adc is ahead it can still be useful), otherwise going for the double forbidden and building some other item

That sounds even worse when you realize you’re stacking 2 unique passives. You’ll only get 10% cdr and 8% heal/shield buff once between the two idols. So you’re spending 800 gold on the second idol and the only stat you’re getting is +50% mana regen.

I agree on rushing idol being useful, but definitely true that stacking them isn't good at all

i see what u guys are saying, i guess ill start just getting idol and 2 charms to avoid the extra passives, that money might make a lot of difference in the game, thank you for that perspective, i hadn't thought about it that way

The problem is that enchanters have a lower win rate than tank supports right now, so riot is nerfing weak/balanced champions for no good reason.

Enchanters aren't weak. Tank supports are just broken.

BottleCapster1 votes

I'd say that in general Enchanters aren't weak so much as everything does so much more damage. The enemy of sustain is always burst, and nowadays there's more burst than ever. That increase in burst makes Tanks (Who can take a hit) more useful as they can block and survive through more of the burst than an Enchanter otherwise could. I think I'm overall fine with them tuning Shield/Heal power in general because especially last season that got ridiculous, but I do think there's also a broader issue of the sheer amount of power creep this season has had in store for it, which is going to hurt Enchanters a good bit, at least in regards to protecting their carries.

holy shit, wattup man, I used to love watching your Soraka mid back in the day, part of why she's one of my fav champs too. Too bad for her rework. I see you haven't touched her since.

Problem solved.

Ummm it doesn't matter because you still gain the %to shield and healing and you should take the rune that goes along with it .

Mokuto Bunshi1 votes

I think that's the point. I remember when they added redemption and the other sup items they said that they wanted it to be a custom feeling of 'This is what I build on my support' instead of a go to meta, but as a result, things feel different... I dunno, unpopular opinion I guess.

2% nerf is still playable.
