Why is renekton so strong late game

He is unbeatable early and is a Monster late game. Isnt he supposed to fall off?? WHat a lie, he is lategame still oppresiive and tanky as a tank.

Look at my last game, an enemy renekton went 18/1/8. He basically 1 vs 5 the whole team.

Based on the LCS shout casters, it's itemization.

It use to be that his only real damage item was sunfire. But now he can make good use of the likes of BC and Titanic, meaning that he doesn't fall of as early as he use to.

At the moment, he practically has Juggernaut scaling.

juggernauts have telegraphed playstyle. You can easily predict it,even with garen Q. Renek has a dash,can be used as escape or huge gap closer,stun you,burst you

Mundo literally fits the definition of a juggernaut. No where did it say they had to build damage items. It just says they have to deal damage

That is renekton. Vi is under that category. She has a shield that can soak a shit ton of damage. Does that make her a juggernaut?

If he goes full ad he can hope of oneshoting someone before he gets instakilled.

If he goes full tank he can hpe of .... wait he has no hope LUL its season 7.

The thing is you would easily notice lane bullies fall off by 30mins in prev seasons now they usually stay relevant till 40 mins .:P

Do you understand what "falls of in lategame" means? No, renekton will not become squishy in lategame. And no, he will not do less damage. Falling off in late-game means that his kit is very good for 1v1 or 2v2 scenarios but lacking in comparison to other champs for teamfight. Other tanks like malphite, nautilus or amumu are better for teamfight, because they offer engage and aoe cc. In a 5v5 fight renekton won't do much as long as you keep him away from your adc, which is not even that difficult (when he is not fed ofc). But if you try to 1v1 renekton in lategame that still won't work.

Renekton struggles in high cc environments where there exists a front line that can peel for the damage.

Beating Renekton solo requires good sustain and about equal damage output. So you can beat a Renekton with a Nasus, but you need to be able to stack well, build a sheen item, build a spirit visage, and then build more tanky. Renekton has high damage output but because he largely relies on abilities it's easy for him to burst people, but in a DPS situation he can be beaten.

Jax is typically considered one of the better counters to Renekton from a lane perspective. Though Renekton usually has a higher impact in team fights.

It like hands him near 2k gold late game and he insta stacks it.

I like the mastery but it continues to distort things because it way outscales standard keystone effects in potential

he's like riven in lane, wait for combo, look for opportunity, rotate combo, get the hell back out, wait for cooldowns, repeat. Riven has more free mobility, bur with bad positioning renek will dive through your minions, auto you, reset stun you, Q aoe damage with heal, and get back out. It's bustier but requires a bit more positioning whereas riven has a lot of 'free' mobility in any direction with her abilities, however renek has a lot more pushing and sustain with his Q.

later on though once you start grouping, some CC will tend to shut renek down due to his lack of 'free' mobilitty whereas rivens will tend to just hop and jump around at will while doing better sustained damage with stupid animation canceling that riot decided they didn't want to fix so they claimed later that it was "intended"

but yes, just farm under your tower. if you have cc, save it for when he makes a mistake and tries to dive you under it. his ult makes him a bit tougher, but it is not a damage bursty ult, it's a "olol safety net bonus hp with a little DoT around me" ult later on punish him for not being fed with CC as reneks will usually not have good tanky defenses like a darius or garen would have.
