Urgot has the 11th highest winrate top with a less then 2% pickrate, hes also really easy to deal with tbh. I do not think he needs nerfs.

Salron22 votes

Yeah not like he has a 54% after they overbuffed him last patch or anything http://puu.sh/y8oFe/6e78817197.jpg

Overloadroad26 votes

His playrate is still low. It also sucks because champs like Ahri, and Panth can have winrates like that FOR YEARS while having a HIGHER PLAYRATE

Salron2 votes

Yeah but the difference here is that urgot was already good in soloq last patch and strong enough to be picked in pro play

And they just made that Urgot even stronger by quite a bit

I do think Riot went overboard with the nerf and isnt targetting the right area, but he does need some form of nerf

Overloadroad10 votes

Strong last patch? I don't think that a 48% with such a low playrate, which is mostly his mains, says that he was rather weak in SoloQ. But at least we're both agreeing that the wrong part of Urgot's kit is being nerfed

Barcid2 votes

This.

I loved Urgot, but Bramble Vest was such an easy item to build to shut him down to oblivion that I stopped. He was a good decent top laner, great duelist, but a bulky bruiser with Thorn basically meant Urgot would suck. His Q was too clunky, his passive took too long to cool down to be consistent early game, and his ult... didn't need the fire speed buff, honestly, but whatever.

This patch actually make me want to pick him up again because I can do so much more with Urgot now than before and feel like I'm not fucked in a teamfight. And I was spamming the fuck out of Urgot in queue.

He doesn't need a nerf. People just don't know how to play against him yet, and he's honestly weaker in lane than he was before - his Q is just now easier to harass with. Which, while nice, his all-in ability was hit dramatically (2% down from 4% per shotgun blast before 6, whoof) and he's basically punishable any time he's used his W or any time he's fired off his legs, which can no longer be sped up with CDR (which he reaches lower cooldowns than he had before later in the game, but all other times his cooldowns are higher).

He doesn't really need a nerf at all period. Though the one they're giving him I doubt really hurts him very much and seems more like a preparation nerf for the new runes reforged.

HaIlMonitor1 votes

His win-rate actually goes up pretty steep (52% at 10 games). For how few people he is mained by, and how unique he is a 48% isnt that bad. Basically where it should have been, and the buff simply has to do with Riot wanting him to have more of a spotlight because he was just reworked.

dunder kill2 votes

But they need to sell dem Ahri skins

Morendabanus2 votes

Ahri's winrate is that high because her kit alltogether flows very well, none of her abilities really stand out on their own as highly frustrating to play against, except for her ulti, and changing that is the kind of big change that the live gameplay team doesn't want to make. Those kinds of changes are for the people who get paid to make reworks, like Repertoire, who made Urgot - pretty cool, or gutted assassins, sadface. Another is certainlyt, his champs are a bit too strong but he did the warwick rework and it's barely had a single change, and is very fun to play too.

Urgot is overpowered currently. Wait until you meet an Urgot main. Stop making a big deal out of justified nerfs.

Overloadroad3 votes

So if a Main of a champ is doing well, then the champ is OP? Also, maybe you just don't know how the champion works, thus doing terrible trades against him, and immediatley think he's OP

The fact she could even stay above 51% despite AP itemization being pretty bad is just astonishing.

Is this also counting normals? I know op.gg counts normals in match history, but do they do it for champs?

Urgot has gone from not being that good unless you know what you're doing, to being able to crush low elo. Watch it equalize as more people figure out he destroys against melee matchups.

He has the same problems as illaoi which is why you won't see him that much in higher elo. That problem is that you just walk away from him, he's fairly tanky and deals plenty of damage, but he has to be on top of you for the most part to deal that damage, and to maximize it he needs to literally go around you.

His early game also got a hit, so people that can bully him early and ranged champs that just kite and stay away from him can even keep him off of farm.

Certainly not_ that_ overbuffed, people just don't know how to play against him. Also remember that he gets full damage from the reflection from thronmail on each hit during his w even though he's dealing a third of his per hit.

That said, as someone who loves me some urgot, they can increase the cooldown per leg to 3 or 3.5s at lvl 13 and increase the detonation time of his q by .1s It's a little too easy to hit right now even when someone isn't slowed.

Also, how do we know that that photo is urgot, cite sources and to end. It's only been two freaking days. Let people figure it out before you call OP NERF PLZ.

Automated Riven1 votes

Thornmail barely does damage. Over the entire durration of his w recieving full damage back he will still have half his shield. at least.

SadKill1 votes

True, but is that a problem with urgot, or thornmail?

Urgot has similiar strengths and weaknesses to Illaoi, when the fight comes to them, they can excel, if they have to roam and go for fights, it's harder because it puts the enemies in a better kiting position.

Champions that jump on people for a rotation like panth and Riven struggle because that's what Urgot is best against because he can get a full combo off without any problems and just get a good trade. Jax is an exception thanks to his ability to dodge autos, including urgots passive.

Automated Riven1 votes

i wasnt really saying it was a problem with either. just that thornmail and its interaction with urgot isnt going to break him. I dont find him that terribly strong. But I have only played against him 1 time since the buffs.

CyberBalt7 votes

God forbid we have a single strong juggernaut.

Poske1 votes

Cho gath

CyberBalt3 votes

Idk if he counts as a juggernaut, he has a lot of strong cc, and mediocre damage save for his ult. Seems more like a tank to me. Maybe I'm wrong though, haven't payed much attention to him.

Poske1 votes

He is sort o like garen with more cc damage and better item paths

Faceroll Tactics1 votes

He is garen except he can be played against players with more than two brain cells

Blackstone012 votes

Uhhhh wasn't Twitch chilling at 54% for awhile with a much higher pick rate? Hell for the past half year or more he was number 1-2 winrate of all ADCs, never dropping below that until this patch.

Jack Garrus11 votes

Twich had over 56% winrate some months ago, then got nerfed a bit. For some weeks it was played less because of the 'nerfFearOmg' fase. When people started to realize that Twich was still broken they returned to play him. Now he is almost 54% winrate.

Wtf rito.

Rıots Bad Client1 votes

54% Doesn't seem like a game breaker. I mean, apparently Sona has more games and has a bigger winrate.

In low elo picking twich or draven is automatically free win. In enemy team, obv

i doubt anyone in low elo can take full advantage of draven unless they are a smurf...

SadKill3 votes

Win rate isn't everything. It's that twitch isn't fun to fight against on top of being an effective pick, hence why people complain. Even me, I hate fighting twitch.

Zero Skill Tank2 votes

Path and Sona aren't fun either.

Sona's fun... well, s3 Sona was fun. Idk about her recent state.

if this is what happens, this is why urgot got nerfed and not twitch. Riot has about a 1-2 patch delay on addressing problems, because it takes that long to correctly asses and test a solution to said problem.

Blackstone013 votes

LOL, Twitch has been broken as fuck for wayyyyy more than 1-2 patches. It's been 3 days since the patch went out with Urgot's buffs. It's pretty funny how a short range top juggernaut sees his winrate shoot up to 54% with Riot planning nerfs 3 days later, while an ADC better than every single assassin at assassinating spends patch after patch after patch without any nerf.

Stillname1 votes

Twitch is sitting around 52% win-rate atm according to any sites I checked. Where are you seeing him up at 54%?

Malicious Metal7 votes

Yeah, it's logical. First they nerf urgot THEN twitch.

Aatrox Mid 1v56 votes

So apparently bringing up twitch is a valid argument for any nerf riot puts up on the pbe...

This change is a load of house and bullshit mixed together and severed like it's a chocolate smoothie.

Urgot needed nerfs and got them, thankfully. Twitch has needed nerfs for ages though, but ya know, Rito loves marksmen to death.

One thing being strong doesn't mean another isn't. Yes, Urgot may be slow, but you're ignoring his other strengths, and not considering the possibility that maybe his strengths don't out weigh his weakness. Urgot got a lot of access to his Shot gun knees late game, I wouldn't say this is a nerf as much as this is a continuation of the power shift his lower CD knees brought.

boldcatattack2 votes

nerf azir boyz [sg-jinx]

DuskDaUmbreon2 votes

Just because a champion is slow doesn't mean they don't need nerfs...

Base MS is literally just one stat.

And Twitch and Urgot have the same base MS

SadKill5 votes

Twitch can increase that MS with a basic ability, he has way more range not even including his ult. Urgot needs to literally be on top of you to deal his damage and you can see him coming.

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

And Urgot has a dash that's accompanied by hard CC. Your point is what?

And, even if Urgot's MS is typically lower because of items and/or abilities, that does not mean that he can escape nerfs in any way, shape, or form. Tristana is slower than Ahri, does that mean she gets to escape nerfs?

SadKill5 votes

MS argument is dumb at this point, it's just a direct comparison, which doesn't feel effective with these two.

I short dash that has .5s wind up time. it's like dodging a thresh hook.

My opinion on if he needs nerfs or not, I play him fairly often, have been for a couple of patches now. The buffs have been great. Honestly, he's in a pretty good spot due to how much counterplay there is available.

That said My recommendation for nerfs on him.

his passive, either add another step so that it hits 2.5s and 8% damage at say level 15. or increase it to 3s or 3.5s cd at lvl 13. They already hit his passive damage before 13 pretty well.

his q, increase the detonation time by .1s, it's a bit too easy to hit now even when someone isn't slowed.

Besides that, he's very kitable, and has similiar strengths and weaknesses as illaoi, which is also quite a strong champion in the right situations.

xelaker2 votes

urgot sits in the same place illoai does. strong if you decide to stay, but he can't really do anything if you move outside his range. yea melee vs urgot is a pain, but once the team stuff rolls around he falls off aside from ks with his ult lol
