Which is damage item is better on Shen?

shen dont need damage
shen dont need damage
Then how will he take towers and contribute to teamfights? He only has one form of CC and it is best used to capture fleeing enemies or escape... Not to initiate because in SoloQ most players won't be competent enough to CC the enemy right after you use it.
- Standard
- vs heavy AP
- Fed
BotRK if vs super tanky team is acceptable, but very situational. You typically want a team composition that has enough damage for you to be tank tank and not need to build offensive, so if you're building BotRK to fight other tanks... well wet noodle fights are funny.
Wits End is Superb even against a non heavy AP team. It's Attack Speed reduces the wait time on Ki Strike goes off and increases your Vorpal Blade Heal and physical dps.
Not to mention, steals magic resist making your passive, Q and E.
tri force and botrk work really well for me i would just go tri force though

But tri is soo expensive, and it's stats are all over the place.

Get phage into sheen then zeal. (although once u get enough for zeal u can prob buy the entire thing since the combine cost is 73)
You forgot
which makes you more durable and reduces enemy MR.
I believe that you generally purchase Blade of the Ruined King when the enemy team has several tanky champions, Trinity Force when the enemies are mostly squishy, and Wit's End when you need to be more durable.
No matter which one you choose though, you typically won't purchase a damage item until you have finished a couple defensive items.
Lol I probably should have stated that I build 1 damage item with Wit's then go full tank.
I go for damage then defense.

Frozen gives good tankyness for it's damage so it's ok. But lately i've been looking at
for it's waveclear aspect and it's health regen and lifesteal that compliment Shen's Vorpal Heal quite nicely.
I'll typically go for defense and then damage myself. I'll typically get something like:

If provides a lot of extra magic and some magic penetration to amplify it without sacrificing durability.
That's the problem with Shen, he sacrifices waay to much to build damage.
I build him with Ki Stike in mind
Trinity is possibly the best. If you're looking for superior splitpushing, then Ravenous. The rest are meh.
Huh I don't think a 700 hp item should be considered "damage item" ^^
Do consider that your passive is a key aspect of Shens damage..
AKA..He's more effective the more health he gets. If you want health, damage, and some utility, Black cleaver.
Kk... Sounds good. I haven't t4ied it on shen but it seems ok.
Get Tiamat for fast pushing and tp when needed. BORK is for dueling, some get triforce too.
is pretty terrible on Shen. I mean, it solves his kit's problem (0 waveclear) but aside from that, the stats are very bad on him.
I'd rather get
if I want waveclear.
The fact that shen is bad at pushing towers is in his kit, not really about the itemization. It's kind of a limitation to his very unique splitpush pressure; thanks to his ult.
Overall, you don't really need any offensive items. At best I'd get
or
, but in lategame, and if I somehow need the damage.
Don't forget that you're mostly there for the utility you provide, and also you'll deal a lot with a
especially if you're very beefy already.
But
builds into
. Surely it'd be great for splitpushing and Skirmishes. The lifesteal and health regen synergize really well with his Vorpal Blade heal.

They don't synergize at all. His passive is flat + % bonus health every X seconds, reduced by autoattacking. It synergizes with attack speed, health, and spirit visage passive. It has literally 0 synergy with Hydra.
Hydra is good for ad casters because it provides burst with an AA-reset dealing damage based on how much AD you have. Shen doesn't build that much AD, or arpen, has 0 ad ratios. Hydra is also pretty terrible at duelling, unless you can oneshoot your target, which you can't with Shen.
It's like saying (random example) that BT has synergy with Irelia's W or WW's passive because it's sustain as well. Uhm, sorry but no.
Ok maybe the word I chose (synergy) wasn't the best, but it simultaneously gives you sustain outside your VB (which is good to conserve that energy for CC needs like 2 E's in a teamfight.) which in addition to your VB heal gives some great sustain. Regen, life steal and VB heal. Also when you pick up your
it will increase the heal of all 3.

Only one armor item? How do you survive good sir?

I wreck teemo you do you know how many times I 1v1
top and got first blood because he thought he could outrade shen with his magic damahe and blind. I just went attack speed on marks and started with a
. I also also never learned my abiliities at the start of the trade because Ki Strike did enough and also (I was contemplating whether to take Q or E) I picked up he and only used it when he ran away because he was low. 1 time i killed him and got First Blood. In another I had to follow up ignite and still got first blood xD
I'm curious as to the pushing power of
and
together. You'd probably be able to neglect top lane forever.

9x Flat Attack Speed Marks [13.5% Atk Spd] 3x Flat Attack Speed Quints [15.3% Atk Spd] 9x Flat Armor Seals [41 with base and masteries] 3x Flat Magic Resist Glyphs [4 mr... 42 with base and masteries] 6x Flat CDR Glyphs [5% cdr... 10% with sorcery mastery]

See this is why I take
. more health. Bit of AD for stronger DPS. And a perman slow. Rylai's does however work good with

No it should be your only damage item. Its cost effective, provides some extra CC, and also buffs up your passive alot. Anymore then that and you aren't going to tank anything.
You mean Rylai's? Cost effectiveness is only important early to mid game. Late game your gonna want the most out of your build. {The most expensive items that are the most effective against the enemy team comp}

Playing around lategame is dumb
I also believe early game play has somewhat a signuficance. But I've seen some of them most one sided matches be turned around so you have to prepare for mid to late game. I'm telling you.

This is the only correct way to build Shen, tbh.
Haha, Full Ninja!
