Counters to Ekko mid.

. A few more counters are coming as I figure this out since he is still new. Reminds me of Kassadin in the sense that you need a bruiser AD mid to counter him (not adc type). Stop complaining about him already please. Just try to play him more top lane than mid lane to figure out his counters since he loses to alot of top laners. Just take the top laners to mid instead of having the traditional mid laners. As for his ult, IT'S SUPER UNRELIABLE because even a second might affect his position and he can either damage you with his ult or escape from you. He can't do both. As for most of his damage, Try to dodge as it's pretty easy. The standard combo is E+Q which is very easy to dodge. Try to learn him so you can understand his weaknesses rather than jumping on the "op" hype train.

But he has a ton of counters, it's not just Galio. Ekko is not like lb first off. He has a lot of counters. Counters that I've mentioned and people straight up can outplay him with some traditional mids as well. How on earth is Ekko op with 3 skill shots? Just because he dishes out tons of damage? well what do you expect? That's what he is supposed to do. But you have to hit your skillshots, it's not point and click like lb or kat LOL.

Man... you clearly have never played him or played against him. You must have heard someone talking about someone talking about someone watching a gameplay video lol.

Most of his damage starts from a gap closer auto attack empowering E. From point-blank range, his 'skill shot' Q becomes about as hard to hit as Amumu's ult after landing his gap closer. His R is primarily a retreat button but can punish people who don't know better than to chase you. W is the only thing that's hard to land, and I think that's hardly balancing considering it's an AOE Slow, AOE Stun, and huge Shield all in one skill.

I've played against him a solid number of times and never lost to him. Maybe thats because I understand his kit very well, thanks to playing him alot when he was first released.

It's okay, his Q that is so wide Faker said it was easy to hit, but that "skill"shot.

his easy to predict w that doesn't even show up until it hits the ground and is nearly the size of the lane

His dash...on a mage (cause he basically is)

and his free mana, do whatever he wants and get out of what he wants, plus do damage, and teleport....ult.

But having a few counters makes him perfectly balanced.

I think you are missing the point. Almost all those champions listed are top lane champions. Any champion designed to go mid but invalidates the majority of midlaners has a serious design problem. The majority of midlane champions perform poorly against Ekko.

Outrange the champ that can move around the lane pretty easy? He has some pretty easy gap closing, and if he gets to you, he is staying on you, and if he wants to get away from you, he has tons of ways to do it.

I'm not sure there is an out ranging him unless you are hiding under turret where he can't get to you.

Yah I don't understand the hate on his damage and ult, it's all skill shots Except for E. Even then, his E puts you in melee position in a team fight which anyone can CC you or Exhaust you. If someone CC's you, your ult shadow starts coming closer to you and if you ult in that instance, you can't really escape anymore. I also noticed how most of the complaints come from people that don't even play him. League of legends Boards isn't any different from GD to be honest.

Azir Really good counter to Ekko as he can zone with soldiers and he can place his soldiers inside Ekko's W if Ekko gets too close.

Ahri beats Ekko mid rather easily. I've seen Viktor manhandle Ekko Diana Is similar in engage and naturally tankier then Ekko, and I'd argue does more damage. Xerath wins by virtue of poke, just dont get close to him like a tard, easy lane to control Lissandra Plays very strong against him

Counters are there. He is granted a strong champ, people are just idiots and ignore his counterplay/counter champs, and would rather he be gutted then learning to play against him.

He's an assassin with all the strengths and none of the weaknesses. Was very interesting hearing Faker break Ekko down in that youtube video Riot hyped yesterday. Still think he needs a little tuning to be in the right place balance-wise, counters or not.

He has low hp (less than 2000) even at level 18. Also, his whole kit is reliant on hitting skillshots. Which means, if you miss skillshots, you do no damage. Also, Ekko is so predictable. You can see the shadow of his ult and when Ekko goes into 5 people that means that he cast W which means you gotta get out. Like I said, Ekko is very easy to counter. I'm surprised that a diamond player would rather watch a faker video than actually play Ekko and learn his weaknesses.

Diamond players are mostly shit. FYI. I'd prefer to learn from the best mid laner in the game any day.

Also, I have played him. My first game I went 14-0-12. He has very little risk due to his kit's safety and a ton of damage when you do decide to go in. He's very over tuned at the moment.

Since you are a better player than me, why would you focus on one game where you did good? Try to play more games and get raped a few times with him. Not that difficult really. Then you will learn his weaknesses.

I have. I haven't gotten wrecked yet. All games have been pretty easy because he's extremely safe with lots of damage. If you play correctly, you never risk dying (and getting wrecked by the enemy team).

I also haven't lost a game with Ekko on my team, or won a game against him (Despite knowing how he works) in solo queue yet. That's the balance issue I'm talking about. He's pick or ban because of his safety and high damage output. All strength, no weaknesses (if played correctly anyway).

If you say so. I don't try new champions in ranked on my main account, so that's one reason why you're not seeing my PvP Ekko games. I would look again though, because what I've said is still true. I don't think I've won a game in solo queue against Ekko or lost a game of solo queue with Ekko.

Not trying to start a flame war with you. Just giving my opinion having played him ~10 games and played with/against him ~10 games. Also listening and watching players better than me talk about him. He's very safe, with little risks (if played correctly), and a lot of damage. He's over tuned.
