Why Ekko is not as broken as you think he is.

Why are people complaining that he is broken when he clearly has 3 skill shots? The only easy skill about him is his E and that's it. Also, the reason why his ult deals damage is because he can use it in two ways: If Ekko uses his ult to escape you, then he deals no damage AT ALL. If Ekko uses his ult to damage you, then he lost his escape. Plain and simple. One of the most high risk high reward champion I've ever seen so far. His Q is very hard to hit even when you do your E+Q combo you can still miss it pretty easily. As for the mana cost on his ult, he already has high mana costs on his combos. Again, Ekko relies heavily on COMBOS and making his ult cost mana might make him have mana issues as he has to save his mana instead of using it for trading. I can also make the arguments about some champs that their ult has no mana cost: Shen LeeSin Katarina Kennen Riven etc. It's so easy to make those arguments, just because his ult doesn't cost mana does not make it op or broken at all. Also, Jax XinZhao Leblanc Fiddlesticks Galio seem to do very well against him. So maybe try learning some champs. Obviously there are more counters to Ekko that I just have not found yet. But please, please, just try him out and play him and get raped by good players so you can learn how to play against him as well. Thank you!

oh so i think hes beyond godlike broken, then he's only massively overpowered. good i was worried for a sec thanks for clearing it up :)

The examples you gave for having no mana cost is missing Kayle and Leblanc and Aatrox . But here's why they don't compare:

Shen is a tank with horrible energy costs. Riot would need to redo his energy regen so that he can use a full rotation AND ult. As it is, after his first rotation has to auto attack for several seconds to recoup.

Katarina has no CC, she has no sustain, she has no shield, and no stat steroids to protect herself.

Kennen also suffers from 1 rotation energy pains. He used to have energy on his ult, but then he started having a miserable winrate and it was impossible to use hsi 4 abilities within 5 seconds, which mages REALLY need to be able to do.

Riven has gone through MANY nerfs to get her free ult. Riven's health regen is almost non-existent. Her Q was nerfed, her range and missile speed reduced. Her shield cd increased and her ki-strike dmg/cd/range nerfed.

Lee Sin is really the only one there is no reason for.

Anivia cries in a corner because new champions "need" to combo. Most Midlane mages need to combo. Lux Anivia Brand AzirOrianna Malzahar will not kill you without a combo. With the exception of Malzahar, the others GREATLY reduce their harass because their mana costs would otherwise be very high.

Unlike them, Ekko can hurt you with autoattacks, has mobility (Azir requires 3 abilities to be cast to escape, reducing his damage to 0 unless he ults).

Also Ekko is picked in the midlane as a melee assassin, you can choose any duelist really and beat him --> Nocturne Fiora Jax Aatrox Riven Udyr

He's not as broken as some people are saying, but Ekko has problems. His ult being one of them. his power budget shouldn't be wasted making his ultimate do everything and cost nothing. Also, his AoE Stun-Aoe Slow-High Ratio'd Shield is overwhelming with the range you can cast it.
