When is Riot going to take a serious look at shaco?

For as long as I can remember, he has been either completely overpowered, or completely underpowered, and right now he feels pretty useless. When I think of picking a champion, I think about the benefits of their abilities and how that plays into my team, and how it plays into the enemy team. When thinking of shaco, NONE of his abilities seem attractive. Want Q to be strong? You'll have no damage/instantCC from your e or fear time/damage from your box, and then you fall off Want E to be strong? It never is, it's one of the weakest damage abilities in the game. 155 BASE DAMAGE AT LVL 5 LOL Want W to be strong? It's so gimmicky, easily killed or avoided that unless you max it first it will barely do any damage unless your enemy is dumb enough to LET it attack them. He has no wave clear He is an assassin with no burst His stealth is a blink that does less damage than a katarina shunpo His ulti is incredibly situational, and is easily outplayed if you just click on it and see which shaco is real/look at marks/buffs/auto damage

Like what is he meant to be good at? When in the game is he meant to shine? Playing this champ feels like they've taken a bunch of mediocre abilities from different champs and stuck them all on one and hoped it works.

His only real strength is his ability to set up boxes, which if you just take a sweeper or control ward, ruins 20-30 seconds of set up and means you have to flee because you lose that fight INSTANTLY because someone took a free item, OR spent 75 gold. Oh but they actually went into your boxes? Well tough tiddies because most junglers/laners still out damage you like crazy both early AND late, or have some sort of dash or mobility spell that keeps them safe from the 150 mana and 30 seconds you spent setting them up.

The only way to make shaco useful at the moment is to be ahead of your enemy at every step, because he innately has very little with his kit to work with as an assassin.

Will riot ever make this champ viable and not a complete shitshow?

As long as duskbalde is in the game riot can not touch shaco. He is completely balanced around that item so any tweaks made to him would then require tweaks being made to duskbalde which could then lead to other champions being broken or terrible.

To top it all off, they nerfed his boxes by not allowing him to stack them on top of each other anymore.

With Teemo, it was a QoL buff for new players(they didn't know the damage don't stack), with Shaco, it was a removal of a legitimate plan. I'm not sure if it's a bug with Shaco's boxes or intended feature, but either way it slows down his jungle clear speed, and makes him a lot less effective as an assassin.

Shaco is one of those champs that needs nerfs to his abilities to make room for buffs. He's too cheesed based and when a champ is cheese based, they're either broken to be good because you can't really counter the playstyle/kit, or piss weak because its acknowledged that the champ is better left in a bad state for the sake of skill based competitive gameplay.

Like he does not have a lot of counterplay, he's just so shit that he isn't useful but he still is frustrating and uninteractive to play against, especially now that they patched out the ability to level 1 cheese his boxes.

I think shaco would be healthier if his Q was more like kayn E, let him go invisible and ignore terrain/unit collision instead of being a straight up free flash+invis+extra damage ability that makes it impossible to punish him, allows him to take ignite, and allows him to cheese gank level 2. Do that and you could add 50 damage to his E for all I care. If they buffed shaco with the current kit he has now, they'll just end up gutting it immidiately after lol... you'd be surprised how many people in my MMR (d2) actually perma ban shaco just because even the mains up here are too painful to even deal with, despite how bad he is.

He has no wave clear

This I disagree with considering the typical shaco build buys item 3077 and he split pushes really well with it. His first clear before it kinda sucks, but you're mostly playing to gank early on like camille jg and i think shaco's clear still isn't as bad as her's. Not to mention how fast his clone helps him split push on top of it. In the past item 3087 was sometimes also bought.

His stealth is a blink that does less damage than a katarina shunpo

shunpo doesn't turn kat invisible and shunpo requires a unit to target the ability on where as Q is anywhere he pleases. Not a fair comparison.
