Why do we even have downvotes at all? I can understand that some people might post unpopular opinions but it's a mechanic that controls what people can see, and it is abused because of it. I just made a post asking if anyone knows when the store is going to be back up and it got downvoted already in 2 minutes of it being up...
Is there a good reason for having them here? And is there a better way to manage board posts?
Yes, there's definitely many popular forums that don't copy paste the toxic system of reddit, like Riot did. They are also way more enjoyable forums. But hey, I think if we make 1000 of these threads, maybe Riot will respond just to tell us why their system is "good".
Of course it's "good" in their eyes. All they see are threads favoring the downvoting system being upvoted into the sky.
Since we have mods and whatnot to get rid of the truly bad threads, I'd have to agree there probably isn't a need for downvotes anymore.
Better pût the amount of upvotes and downvotes instead of the sum for more clarity
No, tbh it's fuel for favoritism. I feel like the votes thing should be changed to something else...but of course Riot won't do that
