Why does Fizz ult have a 2 massive slows and a knock up?

Ever notice if Fizz lands his ult, you are slowed massively, knockup, and slowed again?

Doesn't that feel like overkill?

it is if he catches you at the end of his range where the fish becomes a radius grab like blitzcrank, thresh, etc

it is, but most of the time the only things we see get moderated are endless arguments, certain key words and occasionally "suspicious voting patterns" or "politics"

I would not advise it either way though

they have fixed some bugs, but apparently the radius for its check was only reduced and not removed

"the check for a nearby target to attach to is now less generous"

i'm not sure what to make of "whiffed fishes are no longer picked up by enemies that walk over them" but that does seem like it would have been annoying

It's mathematically impossible to dodge the fish unless your champion has a movement ability or activated out of combat movespeed stuff, assuming the Fizz aims it directly at the center of your hitbox.

There are champions like Irelia, Lucian, Akali, Jax, Kaisa, Urgot, LB, Camille and boards seriously complain about an assassin thats barely played and if hes played hes not even dominating...

Fizz has a ton of weaknesses, his laning phase is abusable and so are his teamfight patterns. The w rework didnt do him any good, same goes for his assassin update. Fizz should have extreme trouble killing his targets unless extremely fed. you can peel him and shield his burst cause its not instant. There is a delay before all of his spells. you see him flying towards you during his q, his w animation is visible and you can react on it, his e also takes time to hit you and his r is not only dodgeable, no, its also blockable by the tank.

Fizz is way too weak to be complained about. When was the last time you had a fizz dominating you? Just now and this is why you complain? When was the last time before that?

Fizz simply needs tools to stick to his targets. His q and e range are pretty short and he kinda needs maximum damage from his ultimate which makes him shoot it from a long distance. It is designed badly, I give you that.

well you stated he was THE most hated champ.. so my confusion is understandable.

The only reason fizz gains traction as being annoying is because of his ability to dodge point and click abilities with his E. The rest of his kit is in line with most other champions out there.

I did say that he was my most hated champ. I of course do not speak for the community at large. I can't put my finger on one particular thing. It could just be the player's I've played against since he doesn't come up very often. Still he has earned my hate and there really isn't a second most hated for me. I hate fizz and I enjoy all of the rest including yasuo and zed. They are (for the most part) ok with me.

Probably because Riot wanted assassins to have more power that isnt just damage, so they gave fizz ult more cc but less damage (20% amp removed)

I think he's getting at the fact that you can never run from him, and inversely, you can never catch him.

Ignoring unit collision in passive

Mobility in Q

Mobility and untargetability in E, which can slow if used offensively

Slow>knockup>Slow in R

2 Slows and a knock up is still a bit of an overkill. Especially for an AoE ultimate.

All of those things you mentioned are reduced the closer Fizz was when he casts his r. They scale with distance traveled. So a point blank R ain’t gonna do shit to the enemy but one from half way across mid is gonna be pretty damn noticeable.

I do see where you are coming from but Fizz is just designed to be a pain for the enemy and that strong. Some champs are just made to be like that.

He's an assassin duh. That means that he needs to do ridiculous damage, have ridiculous mobility, reduced counter play, and several get out of jail free cards. If his ult didn't massively slow and knock you up you'd have some counter play against him after he lands his ult. Silly OP. If you ever get hit by an ability in this game you should be automatically dead!

I'm okay with the 2 slows.

1 slow to reward landing the ability.

and the other slow is rewarding a great ability that knocks up and slows multiple targets if hit.

however, I dont find that fizz needs a buff or really a nerf.

I used to play Fizz when he was strong in season 4. People complaining today about him don't know what are talking about. I would rather face Fizz than Zed, Talon, LB, Yasuo, Akali etc. I see these every time I play league (because I play only normal blind pick), but Fizz is nowhere to be seen. He is just not strong.

Just because all those champions you listed are overtuned doesn't mean Fizz Ult isn't overtune. He only seems weak because all of those champions can do it better.

Oh, have you ever noticed that LeBlanc can kill you with 2 dashes and a q? And how Zed can kill you with a E,Q,AA combo? And how Talon can kill your with Q, W, R, AA? Or how....

We could go on forever. Fizz is an assassin. At least he has to land a skillshot to get kills reliably.
