I just think it'd give supports an interesting option so that they don't have to sink their scarce gold into Mikael's if enemy CC is a big enough problem to buy it, and can counter the fact even non-damage supports are mainly bringing ignite nowadays. Keeping in mind Mikael's doesn't work on ignite.

If that were an issue, people would already do it. Since Mikael's can't be used on yourself it, it'd be beneficial to bring Cleanse for yourself as a support, with that reasoning. But that's not what we see. Nor do we see people doing so with Banshee's/Edge of Night. Because it's still better to have more damage than to rely on CC cleansing/immunity. And we wouldn't see people suddenly rushing Mikael's because Mikael's stats are too weak to rush it, even if the enemy is a high cc champion like Leona or Nautilus.
Aaand it doesn't work on ignite like Cleanse does.
