@Meddler: New stealth changes, any discussion about Lux?

Out of genuine curiosity, anyone at Riot discussed the possibility of Lux getting any kind of stealth/camo treatment in the future? I read about it being a thing way back when and I was just wondering if it's something that might get looked at someday to make her a more unique champion. I personally think it'd be cool to move her away from artillery some and into a more defined niche.

Something along the lines of support battlemage, kind of like Karma, but way more defined.

We haven't talked about Lux specifically. If we were to give a champion the ability to stealth allies we'd want to make it a pretty core part of how they play though. Adding it to Lux would have to be a pretty significant departure from her current playstyle to do it right. Given we think Lux is in a fairly good spot gameplay wise, and has a lot of players that enjoy that playstyle, would rather do so on another champ if doing so at all.

If you ever do a visual update on her, maybe make her shield have a shimmer effect on her or allies it hits? She's bending light and it would fit thematically.

More burst and utility focused. More Cc then either, and a shield

More CC is somewhat debateable when all three have similar slowing effects and one form of hard CC (Lux has a snare, Xerath has a stun, and Ziggs has a knockback). She does have that shield though.

This is kind of why I made the post. She has a lot of overlap with those two champions specifically.

Lux has a double snare and a lasting slow field. Xerath had a single target stun and a small one-off slow. Ziggs has a slow field that disapates as it's used, and a knockback that is used for other functions as well

She already aoe 1 shots squishies with her combo, what else do you want...

Yeah, and I don't like that about her kit honestly... I would rather see her be given more utility and to give her opponents more counter play than "dodge Q or get deleted". I know it's probably not healthy to have a ranged cc stealth champion but you never know.

I wasn't saying she isn't in a fine spot. I simply saw an opportunity to refine her character and kit to make it a little more unique. Personally, I don't think that long range burst is all that healthy, but neither is stealth cc most likely.

Does lux need stealth? I mean she's pretty hard to see already with how small she is.. xD

Jokes aside. She would be very strong if she could stealth, walk up to an ADC, and do her combo.

Lol, hey man she can get pretty fat. She would probably love to have a stealth later on in the game when she's all fed and whatnot, gotta hide those lbs.

But anyways, that's why I mentioned the new changes to stealth and camo. I think she could actually be tuned back damage wise in exchange for a camo perhaps. I think it would be really cool for her to have a slightly shorter range Q and a camo so that when she gets in range for Q, thats when she is close enough to be seen. Could make for some really interesting plays.

I think some kind of brief stealth on her W would be a lot more interesting than a shield, and more fitting thematically as a light mage.

Yeah, that's about where I was going with it. I think it could set her up as a very unique mage and I agree it would fit better thematically.

As much as I agree with you though, Meddler is right. Unless you can see a way of adding stealth to her that doesn't change her current play pattern too much?

Well that was at the core of the question. I personally don't think her play pattern is that healthy, but I'm not going all out and saying that it IS unhealthy. If she is in a good spot and a lot of people like her, that's fine. I just thought that if she wasn't in a great spot, maybe this would be a good time to look at changing her, maybe giving the W a personal stealth, maybe make proccing her passive give her stealth.

Yeah I hear you. I kind of agree that her playstyle doesn't seem all that fair, perhaps just in low elo. I actually used to pick her when I was desperate to win games because of her insane safety and kill potential, she's a very cheap champ.

Yeah it's entirely a low elo thing. She isn't picked the higher you get and it's because she is binary. Land Q, delete. Missed Q, deleted.

It would be great if she was less binary, I'm all for champs doing their themes justice. In higher elo I'd imagine they're a lot better item actives too. That mini heart attack you get when Draven QSS your Q and jukes your R... 0_0
