Is ranked matchmaking really fair?

It really feels like gold is just luck + grind atm. My team is either notably better or just much worse than the enemy team and my involvement as a support means nothing.

Is it really my fault when my adc has 46 cs to the enemy 100, and her excuse is "i cant cs under tower"

How is it not fair?

What, you want riot's matchmaking to pair you up with the perfect teammates by reading everybody's mind and averaging their skill level?

You get matched with people your rank, if people are so bad, climb out. I'm stuck in plat on my main, too bad to carry out to diamond in season 5. Yes I did get bad teams and I did lose games because my team did poorly, but I've also won games because my team did well. Generally, it should balance out. And if you are the one in a billion chance that you literally always get teammates that go 0/100 with 5 CS at 20 minutes....well I suggest going out and buying a lottery ticket because you, my friend, are going to make a billion dollars with that lucky number.

Thats very possible man. A lot of people boost to gold 4 for the skin. I found Gold 5 and 4 to be still fairly "tough" compared to gold 3,2 and 1. Although i didnt make plat -_- i failed my promos to plat on the last day of the season lol GAAAAH i was pretty mad cuz since gold 2 i had been averaging a plat 3 mmr. I feel like if i was playing vs ppl around gold 1 and plat 5 i woulda had a better chance xD

I don't main support, but I main adc and jungle. It doesn't matter how good I do, my team either messes it up or completely dominates. But usually, they suck. One time I went, 19/4 or something with Amumu and we still lost because my noob team couldn't follow up. I got killed trying to solo 5th drag and my team got recked without me. I was so disappointed.

Without any other context, it very well could be, yeah. In general if we're against an aggressive lane and you're not matching their aggression, I'm going to wind up with less CS. It's my fault I'm not perfect, but that doesn't mean you couldn't be helping me more.

You don't have any idea how many supports I get that won't even consider going near the wave except maybe to walk up, throw a Q, then walk back. Like you realize I can't CS if you don't stand with me, right? They will literally jump onto my face if you look like you won't help me.

Then you get the supports that attack and shove the wave. Can you just not? I'm trying to CS and stay safe, and you're hindering both. When we get ganked because the support shoved the wave, I know he's going to blame ME for overextending. Or, if we're losing lane and I refuse to overextend, he'll go up to their turret without me and literally take the CS.

And there are supports that will just leave you in the middle of the lane to go place a ward or something. Blitzcrank totally won't completely destroy me, and if he does it's absolutely not the support's fault in any way.

Fuck I hate low elo. Sometimes even the support MAINS do that shit.

You have equal chance to team up with a good adc as the other team. I don't see how it's 'unfair'.

It might be depressing to lose a game you did fine, but keep in mind, this is a game of 10 people, you only own 10% stake and the rule of majority says, you don't get to control the game.

Yeah, it is fair. The shitters have the same chance to be on your team as they do to be on the enemy team.
