@Riot There are almost literally NO TANKS with positive winrates right now, in ANY lane

I had a break from the game, and wanted to check which tanks are viable this patch, in case I needed more CC than my usual pick (Yorick) has. I realized there are NONE.

VAST MAJORITY have negative winrate. The few tanks that have positive winrate only do so because they are barely played (i.e. many below 1%, none more than 3%).

Something needs to be done with conqueror, and quickly. It's making whole playstyle virtually extinct.

I get that boards are full of fighter lovers, and I'm a fighter player myself, but when something is disgustingly broken you gotta call it disgustingly broken.

Singed is not a tank.

Braum, Ali and Leo have negative winrate.

And where did you get those playrates, I don't know, but champion GG which agregates data for latest patch only lists much lower numbers.

Don't use champion.gg, that site is highly innacurate. https://lolalytics.com/ or http://euw.op.gg/statistics/champion/ are far better in terms of accuracy.

Besides that, you shouldn't overrate pickrates when talking about tanks in Solo-Q. People want to carry and play the flashy champs, so even when tanks are borderline broken they probably won't have the highest pickrates.

Sion is a tank and is quite strong at the moment, Maokai is fine, Malphite is fine. Aside from the fact, that in SoloQ winrate is far less important than your ability to actually play that champion... Ornn has a 47% winrate, but the best players actually achieve a 57% winrate (not mentioning that he is frequently picked/banned in competetive right now). It just equires you to put time into learning the champion.

Most of those champions are not even tanks.

The rest are exactly as I described it, barely ever played.

Sion is 2.8% as top and 0.85% as support, Malphite is 2.8% as well, Nunu is 1.6% Amumu is 1.5% Rammus is 1.87%

Unlikely to help, IMO. In lane, most tanks won't rush it anyway. Later on, 300 HP is not nearly enough to equalize, even partially, permament 20% true damage, likely from multiple enemies.

Meh, conqueror isn't the problem. The problem is the repeated and regular nerfing of defensive items all the time. There tanks used to be able to get 4k hp and some 300 of each resists. Good luck doing that now if you aren't chogath. That being said. Fighters are supposed to beat tanks, tanks are picked to be better in teamfights. But tanks die way to fucking fast now. They need stronger itemization later in the game. Maybe some shit where it scales with your other items so they don't get too strong too fast. But they do need some help for late game. Tanks should last at least like 4-5 seconds under focus fire late game. Right now they are lucky to hit 1.

The thing is, average for the class is VERY LOW in both aspects.

Compare situation of tanks to say Xin Zhao who has 52.8%/6%. No tank comes even CLOSE to that, and Xin is not even considered OP at the moment.

Every class has champions (multiple) that have both good pickrate and winrate, as being strong naturally means a champion is picked more. Tanks don't have such champion, because there are no reasonably strong tanks ATM, maybe with exception of Sion.

Because people don't like playing tanks? People don't like not doing damage and only being useful as someone to help the team, it has always been like that.

Also, where are you getting your numbers from, because you need to be more specific.

And yet, when there is a viable healer, they will get played. I.e. Soraka is at 51.44%/6.23%.

Except Mundo with a 53% win rate, but I guess that doesn't count.

Statistics on lolking look a little better, but I'm not sure how they aggregate data. champion.gg only uses current patch, that's what I used.

Oh no he is a tank, he is built tank, he has always built tank and he has always had no more then one damage item then pure tank from there, he is a tank.

Mundo is not a tank. His playstyle is virtually identical to Garen's, just with a different build.

here you can see him officially listed as a fighter.

OP didn't say Yorick is a tank. He said he needed more cc than his usual pick, which is Yorick.
You said Yorick is tanky, not a tank, which is something I didn't catch.
