Riot should buff Strengths of Champs and make their weaknesses even greater when Nerfing them

I'm glad they didn't give Garen/Darius/Morde/Skarner the things their kits were lacking and instead just gave them even more of their strengths, or at least tried to

If you just give a Champion everything they need they can't have a lot of things at full power. Sure they can fix a lot of immobile bruisers by not making them immobile but then they can't do a lot of the things that they do.

Mordekaiser often wants to push with his Ghost and steal the Ghosts of an ADC, so they put him in Bot lane to do that more

Darius wants to go mad and dunk some fools, so they gave him more of it

Garen wants to spin so they made him spin more

Skarner wants to play Dominion and be useless so they let him

Gangplank liked split pushing and collecting Gold so they made him do that even better with an Actual E ability

Things like that are just great for the game.

I hope when they rework/buff the following they focus on what makes them strong:

Volibear: Close combat AS centric dueling

Shyvana: Racecar clearing

Trundle: Demanding people fight on his terms in his ring (heavyweight champion Trundle pls)

Olaf: Axe chasing master

Shen: The bodyguard with an assassin playstyle that refuses to let you past him

Skarner: The kidnapper instead of the Dominion

Irelia: The human representation of constipation resulting from eating too much cheese too quickly

When you nerf an OP Champ don't nerf their strengths, hit their weaknesses. Reddit/Boards will often complain that "the real problem" isn't being addressed but that might be the only thing that makes that Champion unique. Yes Kalista can just be nerfed in her strengths, aka passive and Ult, or they can focus on something else entirely that still keeps her unique without making her as OP as before.

Yes, what you're saying is meant to be Riot's design philosophy. They don't always follow it, though.
