His q isn't for poking and it's less safe than ezreals. Lee sin usually uses q to engage and then he is in the thick of it, ezreal uses his to solely poke and kite

Lee's Q range is high so he has better ganking potential, since, you know, he's a melee champion and all with next to no other ways to engage.
