Why Not Give lee sin a Champion only item

Give him the vitkor treatment. give him an item that drops a "ward" but it's not really a ward that he can hop onto, this item can have a certain amount of stats and can evolve as the game continues. Riot can decide what it does, how it scales, but all and all it's meant purely to give lee sin a item he can hop ontop of, as if it was a ward, for it will have an active ability.

(that or you could do the less complicated thing and just bring back trackers knife)
